The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 150 Cultural Marxism is a challenging term that refers to a broad Leftist social phenomenon that took place in the West through the twentieth century into the present. Based upon but modifying the Communist religion of Karl Marx, Western (Cultural) Marxism sought to find a way to infiltrate and seize the means of production of Western Civilizational culture in the hopes of opening it up to socialism (or Communism). In the 1910s through the 1930s, the Western Marxist movement truly was a Cultural Marxism. From the 1930s to the 1970s, this line of thinking was developed primarily by the Frankfurt School, which developed Critical Theory, or Critical Marxism, sometimes referred to as Neo-Marxism. Since the 1970s, it has gone Woke, adopting Intersectionality as a form of American Maoism. They pretend like it's a personal issue and not a political one, but invariably they tell children who "come out" as some form of LGBTQIA+ that conservatives and Republicans hate them. It doesn't matter what else they feel about issues as they grow up. If the radical left can brainwash kids into thinking they're transgender or whatever, they have enlisted them into the woke progressive Democrat army for when they reach voting age.After they convert them to leftism, they push them towards Neo-Marxism and a collectivist ideology. Throughout the grooming experience, they are taking them as far away as possible from a Biblical worldview. It's a process, but it doesn't have to be a long one. Kids can go from normal and functional to fully indoctrinated in a very short period of time.Before I get to the top three ways our kids are being groomed, it's important to note the real solutions. This is often framed as a political or even purely cultural problem, but that only scratches the surface. This is a parental problem, one that will affect everyone in the long term whether you're a parent of young children or not. They're indoctrinating kids today who will be voters tomorrow and who will be leaders in the future. If we love America and our families, we will do whatever we can to stop this, and that doesn't mean hoping Ron DeSantis or Donald Trump can save us.It means acting now.

Lead Pastor, Phil Hopper, teaches in-depth historical insight in our new series on the book of Daniel. When studying the bible, there are three questions to ask: Historical Application, “What happened?” Doctrinal Application, “What is God teaching?” and Devotional Application, “How does this apply to my life?” God teaches four points through His word: What to believe (Doctrine), What not to believe (Reproof), What not to do (Correction), and What to do (Instruction). Pastor Phil states, “Daniel was humble, holy, and hopeful. He was not angry nor defiant. That is why he had such profound influence over even pagan and wicked Babylonian kings.” Daniel was one of the many Hebrew children taken from Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar and brought to Babylon. Throughout the bible, “Babylon” is used as a metaphor for a wicked world system, one that is always in opposition to God's will. The plan was to indoctrinate these young Hebrew children to learn to ways of Babylon. Daniel could never get out of Babylon, but they could never get Babylon into Daniel. He remained faithful to God even when it went against the culture around him. Let this be an inspiration to us today, as this Babylonian world system creeps in again, now dressed as Neo-Marxism, first feeding our children through the education system, and spreading to more areas of our government and culture. The same advice is true for Daniel's time as it is for ours today; ministry begins in the home.
