Starting with a mini-beer review and a James Bond discussion, Sean welcomes Bill from 'Bill Reads Bad Reviews' back to Review It Yourself. Bill brings a really eloquent argument for Skyfall (2012), whilst Sean just repeats "it's stupid" over and over again. They bond over a mutual dislike of Spectre (2016). Discussion Points: -Bill still hasn't got over his Forrest Gump episode. -The dark tone during the opening of this film. -We don't make films like this anymore. -Sean completely forgets about the Lord of the Rings film series. The disappointment in Bill's voice is heart-wrenching. -The strength of the characters in the film. -That feeling you get when leaving the cinema after seeing a great film. -Sean needs to lay off the history the books, as he repeatedly calls Barbossa, Barbarossa. Which was the code name for the Invasion of the Soviet Union by Nazi Germany. Random Questions: -Do the English drink warm beer? -Do Americans put ice cubes in lager? -Is Skyfall a poor man's Home Alone? -Has Bill been watching too much Forrest Gump? -Should Bill do an X-rated version of Bill Reads Bad Reviews? -Who did the music for this film? -What film in the Pirates franchise made Bill want to leave the movie theatre? -Did the butler drop like a wooden door or like a sack of spuds? -Did you know Zoe Saldana was in this film? Random Quotes: -"Who was in that writer's room?". -"He can see the BRGR on the grill and he just needs to get to it". -"The opening of this film, a lot better than the beginning of this [podcast] episode". Thanks for listening! Sean and Bill will return with a review of Spectre (2015).
In this bonus episode, the homies continue their interview with @brgr_on_tha_beat as well as debuting his new song "Mi Familia". In today's episode, Izzy catches up with Beatrix and Sarah from Norwegian garage pop duo Filthy Burger Girl (stylized FLTY BRGR GRL), to talk about their latest album Love You Forever, the importance of women giving each other space on stage, and writing fluid lovelorn songs about being infatuated with another person. ✨ MORE ABOUT FLTY BRGR GRL ✨FLTY BRGR GRL is a garage pop duo from Oslo, Norway. Band leaders Beatrix (bass, vocals) and Sarah (guitar, vocals) met at summer camp, where they bonded over stories of unrequited love. Upon discovering their undeniable musical synergy, the two began crafting songs together about the borderline rapturous and romantic feelings of developing a crush. Their debut album, Love You Forever, is out now. ✨ KEEP UP TO DATE WITH FLTY BRGR GRL ✨Website: https://filthyburgergirl.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/filthyburgergirl/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/filthyburgergirlTwitter: https://twitter.com/brgr_grlSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/5T53sS2uEhnJIiA7MSsfyb?si=PwT4SCBbRjSwNB2HgXhlmg✨ CONNECT WITH IZZY ✨YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCv6SBgiYCpYbx9BOYNefkIgWebsite: https://izzyshutup.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/agrrrlstwosoundcents/Twitter: https://twitter.com/missannthropei
Host Marco Alvarado discusses the further implementation of troops in more US Cities, the DC american football club deciding on a name.... kinda, and the downfall of Burger Records. Theme of the week is: Distraction

In this episode with Chef Brian Pekarcik, we discuss: How the team dynamic of a kitchen filled the void after Pekarcik's baseball dreams ended. Making your employees feel valued. If you want to be the best you need to work for the best. Taking a step back in position, if it means being on a better team. Planning each day out to increase productivity. Being the standard you want your team to live up to. How working under a corporate umbrella can limit the creative freedom of a chef. Using your experience, knowledge, and expertise as leverage when finding partners. Taking time to get to know your partners and to create the SAME visions. The dynamics of Chef Pekarcik and Rick Stern partnership. Pushing through your fear. Building a team of strong mangers around you by teaching them how to think. Another day, another Burger. Today Sebastien went up to the Plateau to try out the F...Me Burger. Foie gras, bacon, truffle oil and brie? F...Me!
In which we venture to a place that is not long for this world... Or is it? Only time will tell. In the midst of our burger recap, we find ourselves unclear on the role dreamcatchers play in our society, and Sebastien lets off some steam.
