•Darrin Patterson knows it is nothing short of God's favor miraculously healed from cancer, what many consider fate and simply good fortune. As a recording artist andmusical genius, his production and song-writing gifts have opened doors for him to share the stage with gospel greats such as Karen Clark-Sheard, Fred Hammond and Tasha Page-Lockhart, to name a few. His unique sound and flavor, coupled with the anointing of God, can be compared with the likes of Tye Tribbett and Israel Houghton, reaching audiences to the core of their being long after he's taken his seat. What started out as small performances at churches and weddings soon spiraled into something much bigger than Darrin intended.•After ministering in a musical, he formed Darrin Paterson & Friends, which would later become Darrin Patterson & Promise. The group's exclusive sound and unapologetic anointing was sure to move the hearts of men and women worldwide, prompting them to seek true transformation through life in Jesus Christ. Realizing that nothing occurs by happenstance or luck, Patterson is strategically committed to reaching the nations through the ministry of music and song, bringing greater glory to God.•Since the disbandment of Darrin Patterson & Promise, he's devoted his time and efforts to his debut album, “The Road”. His lead single, “Love You Forever” hasaudiences of all ages and backgrounds raving in worship, leaving a mark that can't be erased. Fortunate to travel the nation with artists of all calibers, Patterson is well on his way to destiny fulfillment and prophecy manifestation. His mission and his mandate are clear to all who surround him: to have his unwavering passion for music and songwriting to remain full of life, love and hope—ministering to souls across borders and cultural barriers.•The Single “Love You Forever” is available on all digital outlets.•Please send Let's Talk: Gospel Music Gold an email sharing your thoughts about this show segment also if you have anysuggestions of future guests you would like to hear on the show. Ill Love You Forever| Mother's Day at Go Church On this special Mother’s Day at Go Church, we welcomed guest speaker Bethany Barr Phillips, who delivered a heartfelt and powerful message titled “Ill Love You Forever.” Drawing from Hebrews 12:1–3 and her own personal journey through cancer and infertility, Bethany reminded us that, just like Jesus endured the cross, we too can endure life’s trials with Him at our side. This message honored the beauty and strength of motherhood while also acknowledging the grief, loss, and longing that many feel on this day. Bethany encouraged us to lay aside distractions and sin, fix our eyes on Jesus, and run our race with endurance and faith. Whether you're in a season of joy or walking through hardship, this sermon offered hope, perspective, and the truth that God's promises still stand—even when life is hard.

We are now in Daylight SavingsTime and if you're like us, you're missing that hour of sleep you lost last weekend. Some say it's worth it because of the extra sunlight at the end of the day. But most folks would rather watch something entertaining than stare at the sun.So we've got the latest alternatives. We start with "Novocaine" starring Jack Quaid as a mild-mannered bank employee. He's has a rare conition that makes him incapable of feeling physical pain  But when the girl of his dreams is kidnapped, he turns his rare condition into an unexpected advantage in the fight to rescue her. Bill Bregoli will let you know if he liked it. Then there's "I Love You Forever" which is billed as a subversive romantic comedy gone wrong that follows a young woman into and out of an emotionally abusive relationship. Neil Rosen and Bill McCuddy both report what they thought of it. For streaming fans we have The Åre Murders" which is a Swedish mystery series on Netflix we saw. There's also "A Thousand Blows" which comes from the creator of "Peaky Blinders." It's based on a real life female gang in 1880s London. "Neil tells us about watching "House of Telegraph Hill" which starred Richard Basehart and Bill McCuddy fills us all in on the reality series :The Baldwins" and the action movie "Den of Theives 2." Oh, and you may have already forgotten about the Oscars but we'll tell you what we thought of them. Now that you've read all this the sun has already gone down, so go find something to watch!

This episode shares heartfelt stories of personal experiences, including my own mother's joyful time in a vibrant Los Angeles loft community. Join my co-host, Don Priess and I, as we welcome esteemed guest Dr. Allen Power, a renowned geriatrician, whose compassionate approach to dementia care challenges traditional methods and focuses on creating environments that foster contentment and security for those affected by Alzheimer's. We venture into the transformative journey of Dr. Power, who moved from general practice to become a leading advocate for non-pharmacological dementia care. Influenced by the Eden Alternative movement, he reveals his insights on the misuse of antipsychotic drugs and highlights the importance of communication and community integration. Our discussion sheds light on the experiences of families affected by medication misuse and calls for innovative care models that prioritize the well-being of individuals with dementia, emphasizing the power of love, companionship, and understanding. Explore how rethinking dementia care can enhance quality of life, balancing safety and freedom in care environments. Together with Dr. Power, we reflect on the power of intergenerational relationships and the vital need for societal shifts towards embracing diversity and supporting aging in place. With personal anecdotes and expert insights, we challenge misconceptions about dementia, highlighting the lessons of mindfulness and the importance of integrating people with dementia into communities, ultimately advocating for a more inclusive and compassionate approach to care. I LOVE YOU FOREVER is an anti-romcom. I don't say this in a way that suggests a cheeky, defiant stance against Valentine's Day. I say this because it weaponizes romcom tropes against us in its telling of an abusive relationship. You can track the trajectory: lonely 20-something girl (Sofia Black D'Elia) meets accomplished 20-something guy (Ray Nicholson). He's thoughtful, attentive, hygienic. (Men, we can actually trip on the bar, it's so low.) They banter. They date. They kiss. They're an item. But after this point? The tide changes. Guy calls girl every minute. Guy insinuates girl's cheating when she goes out with friends. Guy threatens self-harm at the slightest inconvenience. Girl blames herself, because obviously, if she hasn't had good romantic luck up until this point, she must be the problem. Girl loves guy even harder. Guy relays his therapist's message that girl's no good. Rinse and fucking repeat. This is a caustic, frustrating watch with a good helping of dark humor sprinkled throughout. I like D'Elia and Nicholson's committed, tailored performances. I like the panicked, energetic camera work. But I'm not gonna say this movie's gonna hit for everyone. It's too messy, too entrenched in a pained point of view. However, the people for whom which this movie clicks are gonna grip onto it like a bear trap. Simply put, I know people who've gone through this. They're gonna get it. They're gonna latch on.I LOVE YOU FOREVER is available to watch in select theaters and via digital rental services (Apple TV, Fandango At Home).---Follow The Movies on social media: linktr.ee/themovies_pod

A beautiful fable about the natureof love, from beloved, award-winning picture book creators Mac Barnett and Carson Ellis."What is love?"a young boy asks."I can't answer that,"his grandmother says, and so the boy goes out into the world to find out.But while each person he meets —the fisherman, the actor, and others —has an answer to his question, not one seems quite right. Could love really be a fish, or applause, or the night?Or could it actually besomething much closer to home? This tender, funny tale is an original take on the “I love you" story, a picture book treasure for all ages to read and cherish.A CLASSIC LOVE STORY:A wonderful narrative voice and spectacular pictures give this book the feel of a modern classic.Fans of The Runaway Bunny,Guess How Much I LoveYou,and Love You Forever will adore this book.ENJOY: Many books about the love between parents and children are told from an adult's point of view. This book begins from the child'sperspective, and it's funny and unexpected in ways that children can relate to, while being thoughtful in ways that adults will appreciate. Like all great children's books, this book can be understood on many levels.A BOOK ABOUT FINDING YOURSELF:Theboy's journey takes him to many different people, whose descriptions of what love means to them is very much about how they see themselves and their lives.

"I remember when I turned 33" I am 6 months older than Kortni and so every time she had a birthday I would say "I remember when I turned..." I think she laughed hard the first time I did it and then rolled here eyes for the next 15 years when I did it haha. Where I am currently at in my grief journey is having the idea that Kortni and Riggins and Franki are somewhere. I am not sure what form or shape that is in but they are somewhere together and it is a struggle for them. Just like it is a struggle for Blue and I and the rest of our family. Kortni always found a way to help people and have a positive influence in the worst of circumstances. Even though Kortni is dealing with grief too I know she would be handling it well with a combo of grace and fury. She keeps me going, she gets me out of bed. She has always been a great leader and role model to me. I got to have some Kortni's friends on. (sorry to all the freinds we didnt have on haha kort would have felt bad) Thank you to her friends Shelbi and Madi who went to middle school with Kortni and played high school basketball with her. We had Kort's friend Aria on too who worked as a nurse with Kortni.  My absolute favorite thing is hearing stories about Kortni, especially ones I have never heard of before. So thank you to Shelbi, Madi and Aria I felt Kortni's spirit so strongly talking to all of you at the same time.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY KORTNI! LOVE YOU FOREVER.

Acclaimed culture journalist and author of the upcoming novel, "Everything is a Little Broken," (releasing February 27, 2024), Rebecca Sugar writes a compelling narrative where time is our cruel enemy, and human connection is our strongest defense. Known for her thought-provoking column in the New York Sun, "The Cocktail Party Contrarian," this story is thinly veiled fiction based on the authors own family experiences as a caregiver for both her children and elderly father. Sugar weaves a poignant, touching, funny, and profound narrative that explores the complexities of middle age, aging, and the inevitable passage of time. The novel revolves around Mira Cayne, who grapples with the challenges of watching her father decline and the impending loss of their family's beloved nanny. As she leans on her family traditions, moments of strength, and flashes of humor, Mira confronts the universal question we all face: "Who will I be when the older generation is gone?" I believe you'll find EVERYTHING IS A LITTLE BROKEN to be a powerful exploration of life's fragility, and Rebecca Sugar's unique ability to capture hereditary distress in fiction makes this debut novel a must-read. I 'm looking forward to setting up an interview for you and Rebecca, please let me know where I can send an ARC for review! For your convenience, here is the PDF link to read, release below: EVERYTHING IS A LITTLE BROKEN EVERYTHING IS A LITTLE BROKEN By Rebecca Sugar EVERYTHING IS A LITTLE BROKEN (Post Hill Press; February 27, 2024) by acclaimed journalist and author Rebecca Sugar is more than a compassionate look at life in middle age—it's a heartfelt story inspired by beloved members of Sugar's own family. The distancing of fiction allows Sugar to capture the hereditary distress that daunts memoir writers as she crafts the kind of mirror that reflects inescapable truths. Sugar, who is known for her column, “The Cocktail Party Contrarian” in the New York Sun, has also been published in The Wall Street Journal, Washington Examiner, USA Today, Spectator USA, Jewish News Syndicate, The Christian Post, The Jewish Journal, and more. Faced with nothing but time during the COVID-19 lockdown, she chose the vehicle of fiction in order to express universal truths about the challenge she was facing as she cared for infirm, elderly parents and children at the same time. When Leonard Cohen sang, “There is a crack, a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in,” he might have been describing the Cayne family in Rebecca Sugar's poignant, touching, funny, and profound debut novel. Mira Cayne is watching her beloved father decline right before her eyes. Aging is hard, and the man who has always been her hero and her rock isn't bouncing back from his second spinal cord surgery. Decades of chronic pain are taking its toll on her 79-year-old father's fierce spirit as he grows increasingly fragile. Her father isn't the only crack in Mira's foundation. Her family's beloved nanny is dying. The keeper of the family history and a maternal figure not just to Mira but her father as well, Mae Boyd has her Pentecostal faith to lean on. Mira is supporting her daughter as well as her ailing seniors and stuck between generations. Who can Mira lean on? As she looks toward her Jewish faith, moments of strength and inspiration, and flashes of humor to sustain her, Mira can't escape the question that comes for all of us: “Who will I be when the older generation is gone?”
