Ho, Ho, Ho! Christmas is days away so that can only mean its time for our annual "Silent Night, Deadly Night" movie. This year we're taking on "Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out", a movie that takes everything from its two predecessors, says F it and throws it all in the trash. Does it feature a killer Santa Claus? Nope. Does it have anything to do with Christmas? Not really. Does the killer go around saying bad puns and cheesy one liners? Hell no, matter of fact he doesn't talk at all. But hey, at least it has the world's surliest and bitchiest blind girl, telepathy and a killer that might as well be a zombie wearing a Sci-fi brain fish bowl on his head complete with flashing lights and antennas.

An interesting season of the year - the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas - Advent. Historically a time in which the church reflected on the millenia of anticipation from creation until Christ.----But what is it we reflect most on- What do I want for Christmas- What does my wife want for Christmas- What do my children want for Christmas-----What do you want for Christmas- Not what is on your Amazon wish list. Not the letter you mailed to Santa care of the north pole. Let me suggest an item for your list.

If there is a better and more magical Christmas film than Frank Capraâs ITâS A WONDERFUL LIFE, then I would surely like to know what it is. Yes, there have been a very small selection of great Christmas films, classics like MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET and A CHRISTMAS CAROL to more recent works like THE POLAR EXPRESS (a film that I am willing to bet my morning donut on will be much more respected in the years to come). Yet, Capraâs 1946 film still goes down as one of the most watched and cherished of all the Christmas films. Anyone doubting this assertion should consider one obvious sentiment: can you not find this film on any major television channel either on or before Christmas? Not likely.
