The Crew returns to discuss some team news, including the mutual decision between the club and Harry Brockbank to part ways. Then they review the draw between El Paso Locomotive and Orange County SC. They discuss a match that despite some early struggles, Locomotive could have won with Lucho Solignac playing a huge role in both his goal and Diego Luna's. The struggle unfortunately came in a couple moments with Iloski bouncing in one goal and us failing to clear ahead of Cubo Torres' equalizer. Then it's on to the Vegas match which comes this Friday at Southwest University Park.

In a game they should have won, Josef Martinez get's his first goal, but threats on goal were very limited. Miami had nearly 20 shots on goal but most of their efforts seemed low risk too. It was a game we should have won, and struggle with Cubo Torres being our best sub up front.

Five Takes On The Five Stripes

1: Cubo Torres should be in his prime and he just hasn't produced. Currently he's little more than a reserve player who can step in when we really don't have anyone. A striker for the sake of having a striker. Honestly I was surprised to see him resigned. But, with Lisandro still out because of the death of his father, he was really the only option tonight. He didn't get much service tonight but even when he does, it doesn't come off. He skied another ball of the bottom of his shin in the box around the 12th minute. He doesn't have to produce double digit goals. He doesn't even have to find the net all that regularly but you have to, bare minimum, put shots on frame especially when they sit up nicely for you.    2: The first half did not look good. The team looked and felt like how I look and feel which is to say tired and low on energy. We had no pressure on the ball and no control of the game. We could not find a way to build out of the back. All we had were long hopeful balls. Low percentage passes. We looked like we were trying to find the game and instead the game found us. Basically it didn't look like anything we've seen so far. I did like Heinze's reaction immediately after full time. He was out on the pitch consoling and encouraging the boys. This is a process and I do like that energy, we just didn't have it on the pitch tonight.    3: Lazy defending. 3 yellow cards from sloppy late tackles in the first half alone, ugh. Also, and I hate to quote Alexi but......set pieces, set pieces, set pieces. We have go to get better at restarts and corners. Balls are starting to find the net and when we aren't playing well they're an even bigger problem.    4: For the first time Sosa was so-so. He was taken off the ball too many times. He couldn't win the ball back. Successful tackle % was low. Some of that is due to the revs shutting him down. Word might be getting out on what we have in Sosa. Bruce Arena and the Revs were certainly alert and aware to why he brings.    5: The boat has sprung a leak. Whatever happened to Barco hopefully is not serious. We've been “On a boat!” since the start of competition but we know this story all too well. A stretch of good games, followed by an injury. It appeared to happen off the ball too and non contact injuries can often be even more serious and long lasting.

1: Guzan is not on his game. His distribution was not great, and he made some rudimentary errors. He just does not look confident or comfortable. I’m not sure what’s going on. He seems to be organizing the back line well enough but with his own performance, I think he’s struggling.2: Cubo Torres has now had two golden opportunities to score. Tonight’s chance was an even more clear chance than his last with miami. That header from him has to be a goal. Hopefully that’s his last clear miss and he gets going now.3: We are still giving up too many chances and not creating enough of our own. We basically created one in the first half right at the end. Any other chances we had came from set pieces. Most of Orlando’s chances didn’t come from their build up or even via chances that inherently come from Atlanta playing a higher line and taking risks. They came from bad passes and easy take aways.4: Bello was outstanding on defense. He had several phenomenal recovery runs that straight up prevented goals. Those defensive efforts look even bigger with Adam Jahn’s goal.5: The second half was much better in terms of chance creation, obviously. But still, our biggest problem is consistency and that’s going to remain the problem for some time I think. We have some good moments but we just don’t have a CONSISTENT way forward to score goals. That’s understandable considering we don’t have a permanent coach and are missing two DP’s. However this is a result that we can build off of and might provide some hope for us fans and confidence for the players. For what it’s worth, it was wonderful to break Orlando’s heart a little in front of their fans. OFYO, from Jahn with love.

Block out some time because there's more than an hour of soccer talk coming your way after an entertaining MLS weekend saw Bastian Schweinsteiger score on his debut, Minnesota United finally get on the good side of a blowout and Cubo Torres break out the robot (again). As always, give us your takes by calling the Hot-Take Hotline or emailing the show!   There's plenty to look forward to this week as well, as the CONCACAF Champions League returns with semifinal second legs that could see two (or zero) MLS teams advance to the final. Goal.com's Jon Arnold joins the guys from a bus on the way to Pachuca, where FC Dallas will attempt to protect their 2-1 series lead against Los Tuzos. Do they have a chance of bucking the odds and knocking off their Omar Gonzalez and the Liga MX powers? Yes, but it won't be easy, Arnold says. On the flipside, the Vancouver Whitecaps have a mountain to climb against Tigres down 2-0 after the first leg. Can Carl Robinson inspire his boys to a famous victory?   Bonus segment! Don't say we never gave you anything. Arielle Castillo joins Andrew for an entertaining sitdown with San Jose Earthquakes Homegrowns Nick Lima and Tommy Thompson. Yes, the hype train is real. Yes, Wondo is Lima's favorite player. Yes, you'll want to listen to this one.   In the mailbag, the Hot-Time Hotline returns with a 'Caps fan claiming Vancouver got the better of Crew SC in that Kekuta Manneh-Tony Tchani deal, and another listener giving Dave an excuse to play show tunes. Typical.   Want to be a part of the show? Call the Hot-Take Hotline at 401-206-0MLS to leave a voicemail (keep it short and sweet and avoid colorful language) that could appear on ExtraTime Radio!

Despite D.C. United not having a game this past week, Filibuster is here for you throughout this MLS break. Ben, Jason, and Adam are here to talk about the Copa America Centenario, in which the USA have won their group. We sing the praises of John Brooks, chastise DeAndre Yedlin, and gawk at the fact that Bobby Wood was played in his correct position for a bit in this game. We also talk about the USMNT's lineup going into the game against Ecuador, especially with Yedlin out. We then talk about a real live D.C. United game that you may or may not be able to watch unless you are at the Maryland SoccerPlex this Wednesday. United take on the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in US Open Cup play, so we talk about why we love that tournament and what lineups we want to see. We walk down memory lane with all of the former D.C. United players on the Strikers, and ask Jason to preview what we should expect from them. After the break, we bring on Alicia Tolar of Dynamo Theory to talk about United's weekend game against the Houston Dynamo. We ask what happened to the Dyanmo after their fun start, as well as their replacement of Owen Coyle with Wade Barrett. We ask about the spine of their team, their defensive midfielder and center backs, before talking about their best player so far this season: Andrew Wenger. We ask about United killer Will Bruin, the mysterious case of Cubo Torres, and the not so mysterious case of why they traded Brad Davis. Finally, we have to ask about Angry Joe Willis before having Alicia gameplan the Dynamo for us. Give it a listen!
