T'expliquem de viva veu la presentació de la Fundació ONCE Baixa Visió (FOBV), la cinquena fundació del Grup Social ONCE, l’objectiu de la qual és afavorir i beneficiar fins a 65.000 persones persones a Catalunya que, segons els experts, podrien conviure amb aquesta realitat. La presentació va tenir una experiència inmersiva on els assistents van poder comprovar com hi veuen les persones amb diferents tipus de baixa visio. En la pantalla es projectaven els diferents tipus de visió, acompanyats de la interpretació músical de bandes sonores representatives. Vam sentir les paraules d’Ángel Sánchez, director general de l’ONCE i president de la Fundació ONCE Baixa Visió; Enric Botí, delegat de l’ONCE a Catalunya, David Bernardo, president del Consell Territorial de l’ONCE Catalunya i Adonay Viera, gerent de la Fundació ONCE Baixa Visió. Van intervenir els experts Borja Corcóstegui, oftalmòleg i fundador de l’Institut de Microcirurgia Ocular (IMO) i Marga Prunera, òptica i optometrista, molts anys a l’ONCE. L’accent humà el va posar el testimoni de Cristian Caravante, persona amb baixa visió, que va explicar com ha estat conviure durant tants anys amb la baixa visió en el seu dia a dia. Gloria Gálvez, secretària d’Atenció Sanitària i Participació de la Conselleria de Salut, va cloure l’acte. Molt més que un gos. El passat 30 d’octubre, la Fundació ONCE del Gos Guia va fer a Reus una exhibició per mostrar a la ciutadania com es treballa amb gossos pigall perquè arribin a ser un dels elements fonamentals de l'autonomia i la seguretat de les persones cegues. A Catalunya, actualment, prop de 200 gossos pigall són els ulls de persones cegues. Sota el lema 'Molt més que un gos', un miler de persones van ser testimonis de diversos exercicis d'obediència i concentració com ara pujar i baixar escales, creuar passos de zebra, o salvar obstacles, realitzats pels instructors de mobilitat Manuel de la Dehesa i Elena Molina, acompanyats dels gossos, Mikado i Yudi. Durant l’exhibició, els assistents van tenir l’oportunitat de repassar alguns consells per saber com comportar-se davant d'un gos guia, com ara que no se’ls pot donar menjar, que mai s'ha d'estirar la corretja ni de l'arnès del gos, que no se’ls pot distreure.. Enric Botí, delegat de l’ONCE a Catalunya, va explicar les fases del llarg procés que passen els gossos des que neixen fins que acaben essent els ulls d’una persona cega. I la regidora de l'Àrea de Serveis a les Persones i Drets Socials de l’Ajuntament de Reus, Anabel Martínez i el regidor de Salut i Esports, Enrique Martín, es van posar un antifaç als ulls i van experimentar en primera persona la sensació de desplaçar-se sense veure amb un gos guia de l'ONCE. Gràcies per donar el millor de tu. L’Auditori ONCE Catalunya va acollir l’acte ‘Gràcies per donar el millor de tu’ on, un total de 112 treballadors del Grup Social ONCE van ser homenatjats per la seva trajectòria laboral dins del grup durant 11, 22 o 33 anys. L’acte tenia l’objectiu d’agrair tants anys de feina ben feta, d’esforç, de sacrifici i de compromís, ja que els treballadors i treballadores del Grup Social ONCE donen el millor d’ells mateixos cada dia per un projecte comú, construir un món més amable per a tothom. El guardó per als homenatjats i homenatjades va ser un rellotge d’estil clàssic, símbol del pas del temps i del camí recorregut. Vam sentir les emocionades paraules d’Eva Núñez, homenatjada per portar 11 any; Eduardo Rey, d’ILUNION, 22 i Eva García, de 33. Com a representant d’ILUNION, Joan Fernández, director territorial d’ILUNION Tèxtil Care Catalunya, va explicar, a partir de la seva pròpia experiència, com és l’ADN del Grup Social ONCE. Dissabte 18 d’octubre, vam celebrar la XXVIII Gala de l’Esport de l’ONCE Catalunya, un acte de reconeixement a tots i totes els esportistes guardonats als Campionats del Món, d’Europa, d’Espanya o de Catalunya, i també un homenatge a tots els esportistes, entrenadors, tècnics i guies, que s’han deixat la pell per intentar-ho, per batre les seves marques i per ser cada dia una mica millors. Es va donar pas als protagonistes de la jornada, els i les esportistes de la FCECS, que van pujar a l'escenari, en blocs: Esquí, Muntanya, Rem i Judo; Futbol Sala i Futbol 5; i Goalball, Natació, Atletisme i Escacs. Naturalment, els van acompanyar també els tècnics i guies.
