Aftermath Silver CEO Ralph Rushton joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the appointment of Danny Keating as a strategic advisor to the company. Keating brings over 30 years of experience in mining, processing, and infrastructure development, having led major projects across multiple jurisdictions. Most recently, Keating spearheaded the development of a High Purity Manganese project in Southern Africa, where he oversaw the construction of an EV battery demonstration plant and successfully secured strategic investors. His deep understanding of the battery market and evolving battery chemistries will be instrumental in guiding Aftermath Silver's strategic direction. Keating's extensive career includes serving as CEO of TSX-V listed Giyani Metals, a key player in the manganese battery metals space, as well as leadership roles at Alufer Mining, Dynamic Mining, and ASX-listed Lindian Resources. A South African-qualified mining engineer, he started his career with Anglo American and Gold Fields, gaining hands-on expertise in production, project development, finance, and strategy. His experience extends into investment banking and corporate finance, having worked with Collins Stewart and ABN AMRO in London, where he specialized in project funding, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate strategy. With a strong technical and operational background, Keating has successfully managed technical studies, social and environmental assessments, and permitting processes. He holds a B.Sc. in Engineering (Mining) and is a Chartered Management Accountant. With Keating's expertise, Aftermath Silver is well-positioned to advance its projects and strengthen its position in the evolving battery metals market. #proactiveinvestors #aftermathsilverltd #tsxv #aag #otcqx #aagff #mining #SilverMining, #BerenguelaProject, #Mining #Silver #Copper #Manganese #Peru #DrillingResults #BatteryMetals #ResourceModel #Investing #MiningUpdate #StrategicAdvisor #Manganese #EngineeringDevelopment #CapitalMarkets #MiningNews #JuniorMining #ResourceSector #RalphRushton
Giyani Metals Corp CEO Charles FitzRoy joined Steve Darling from Proactive to outline his vision for the company's future following his recent leadership transition. FitzRoy takes over from Danny Keating, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous role as Head of Corporate Development & Strategy at Giyani, where he managed relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and off-takers. His extensive background in the lithium sector has proven valuable as the company advances its strategic objectives. A trained geologist, FitzRoy's career spans notable roles in the mining industry, including as CEO of Bradda Head Lithium, a company he successfully took public on AIM while also leading subsequent listings on the OTCQB and TSX-V. Leveraging this experience, his focus at Giyani will be on scaling up operations, starting with a major milestone announcement—the granting of a 16-year mining license for Giyani's flagship K.Hill project. This license is a critical development for the company, playing a key role in the ongoing Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for K.Hill. It will also support Giyani's efforts to produce battery-grade manganese at its demonstration plant later this year. FitzRoy emphasized that with the mining license, environmental authorization, and secured surface rights in place, Giyani Metals has built significant momentum toward its goal of becoming a leading producer of battery-grade manganese, a key material in the rapidly growing electric vehicle and renewable energy markets. #proactiveinvestors #giyanimetalscorp #tsxv #emm #charlesfitzroy #mining #BatteryMetals #MiningLicense #KHillProject #ManganeseProduction #BotswanaMining #MiningNews #CharlesFitzRoy #ProactiveInvestors #MiningInvestments #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews
Giyani Metals Corp (TSX-V:EMM, OTC:CATPF) president and CEO Danny Keating takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the latest developments at the company's K.Hill manganese project in Botswana. Keating provided an update on the progress at the demonstration plant site, where they are installing nine process module skids. Currently, seven out of the nine skids have been installed, which marks significant progress since the last update. "We're up to seven now, so that's five more than when we updated everyone before," said Keating. The plant is being built in reverse order, starting from the crystallisation section and moving towards the ore and milling sections. As the installation progresses, they are concurrently working on complex piping and instrumentation, aiming for early commissioning parts of the process. Keating also discussed the recent completion of an infill drilling program at K.Hill, aimed at converting indicated resources into the measured category for the first five years of production. This is a crucial step for de-risking the project and securing financing. "We've done about 3000 meters of drilling to ensure a measured resource for the initial project phase," Keating explained. Additionally, Giyani Metals has secured the surface rights to approximately 1,000 hectares of land, including rights to an adjacent solar farm. This milestone supports their commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of their operations. The company is targeting the commissioning of the demonstration plant in the fourth quarter of the year, with the team working tirelessly to meet this goal. Investors should keep an eye out for further updates on the demonstration plant and the progress on mining licenses. In this episode, we chat to Danny Keating, President & CEO of Giyani Metals who are a battery metal development company focused on becoming one of Africa's first low-carbon producers of high-purity manganese sulphate mono-hydrate, a pre-cursor material used by lithium-ion battery manufacturers for the expanding (EV) market and they are currently developing a portfolio of high-quality manganese oxide assets within the Kanye Basin, in south-eastern Botswana, Africa. Danny's background is in both engineering and commercial & accounting working in executive management for over 15 years. He talks about their recent US$26 million fundraising, plans for the next 18 months as they are finalising their Demonstration Plant for producing high-purity battery grade manganese (HPMSM) ready for offtaker testing in Q4, and developing their Definitive Feasibility Study which is due in the first half of 2025. KEY TAKEAWAYS Giyani Metals is focused on becoming one of Africa's first low-carbon producers of high-purity manganese sulfite monohydrate for the expanding EV market. Giyani Metals recently raised $26 million in capital from strategic investors ARCH and the IDC, showcasing a strong endorsement and support for the company's vision. The construction and commissioning of the demonstration plant is a key milestone for Giyani Metals, as it will demonstrate the process flow sheet and provide a continuous production of high-purity battery-grade manganese. The involvement of strategic investors like ARCH and the IDC not only provides financial support but also brings a focus on ESG aspects and long-term patient capital, setting a solid foundation for project financing. Giyani Metals is well-positioned in the high-purity manganese market, with a focus on meeting the increasing demand for manganese in battery chemistries, aligning with the industry's shift towards lower nickel, reduced cobalt, and increased manganese content. BEST MOMENTS "We spent almost a year going through due diligence with these groups, which is a ringing endorsement when we get to the end and they make a substantive investment." "We're trying to assist in the energy transition. That's very important in terms of some of the sustainability aspects." "We want to make sure that we're observing the highest social, environmental and governance aspects." "We have the permits and licensing, the DFS and the demonstration plant all the way through to the offtake. So an exciting 12 months ahead of us in terms of delivering on all these aspects."
