15/06/25 | Ben Welchman | Revelation 5:1-14 by City Church Bristol
This is the message from our Thursday evening service on 6/12/2025 with Pastor Chet Lowe.
What does it mean to truly treasure God's Word in a nation drifting toward spiritual lukewarmness? In this reflective episode, Jesse Cope challenges listeners to examine their relationship with Scripture and asks whether we genuinely appreciate the freedom to read the Bible without fear of persecution—a privilege denied to countless believers throughout history and in many parts of the world today.Diving into Revelation 5, Jesse emphasizes the unparalleled uniqueness of Jesus Christ, cautioning against any teaching that elevates other figures to His level. The discussion threads through John Quincy Adams' profound wisdom that "duty is ours, results are God's," offering a liberating framework for faithful living that focuses on obedience rather than outcomes. This perspective transforms how we approach both our spiritual walk and our responsibilities as citizens. The episode unveils surprising insights from Thomas Jefferson's writings about Christianity, challenging modern misconceptions about our founding fathers. "Had nothing been added to what flowed from Jesus' lips, the whole world would at this day have been Christian," Jefferson wrote, revealing a deep appreciation for Christ's teachings that rarely appears in contemporary education. These historical threads connect to powerful accounts of Medal of Honor recipients whose courage exemplifies the highest ideals of sacrifice, followed by sobering historical accounts of religious persecution that highlight the preciousness of religious liberty. As our culture increasingly distances itself from biblical foundations, Jesse encourages listeners to strengthen relationships between Christians and conservatives across all spheres of influence—from family and education to business and politics. The spiritual battle for America's soul continues in each generation, requiring intentional effort to uphold the principles that once defined our national character. Whether you're a longtime listener or newcomer to the American Soul Podcast, you'll find both challenge and encouragement in this thoughtful exploration of faith, freedom, and our collective heritage.Support the showThe American Soul Podcasthttps://www.buzzsprout.com/1791934/subscribe

Greetings and welcome! This is our worship service for June 1, 2025. Today we continue our series on the Book of Revelation in chapter 5 as we see the sealed scroll and the slain Lamb. Thanks for joining us!
Here on the Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast we are studying Revelation 5:1-14 with our teacher Dr. John G. Mitchell. In this passage we are seeing Jesus, of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, standing as a lamb as slain. The Savior, the Lord Jesus is no longer sitting as an intercessor for His people, but is standing as a judge of the world. The scene is in heaven, not on the earth.John hears the voice of many angels whose number could not be numbered. They were speaking with loud voices, Praise to the Lamb. Then EVERY created being in heaven and on earth and under the earth and upon the sea also join in to give glory to the Lamb who sits on the throne, our Lord Jesus Christ. Let's think about it as Dr. Mitchell continues in Rev. 5:1-14.
The Unchanging Word Bible Broadcast is looking into the 5th chapter of the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ.Welcome! It is Jesus Christ who is revealed in this chapter. He is revealed as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, as the Root of David, and as a Lamb standing. Jesus is called the Lamb three times in this chapter.Dr. Mitchell reminds us that reference to Jesus as the Lamb occurs 28 times in the book of Revelation. In all of heaven and earth and even under the earth no one but the Lamb was found worthy to open the scroll and to look into it. This scroll, this literal document, is sealed fast with seven literal seals. These seals signify authority, authenticity, security and protection. And in this particular case, they also signify privacy. They protect the privacy of this scroll until the one comes who is worthy to open them. Jesus will personally open each seal, one by one, Himself. Here is Dr. Mitchell, Revelation 5:1-6.

Revelation 5: The Lamb taking the Scroll...
Pastor Ken begins teaching through Revelation 5
On Memorial Day weekend, we pause to honor those who gave their lives in service to our country. But in Revelation 4–5, we're invited into a greater throne room—where all of heaven remembers and worships the One who was slain for the redemption of the world. At the center of all creation stands the Lamb, and He alone is worthy to open the scroll and fulfill God's plan. This message calls us to reflect on the cost of our freedom—both earthly and eternal—and to respond with lives of worship, sacrifice, and prayer.

April 20th, 2025 You don't have enough tickets! But Jesus does! Understanding this scene fully means seeing... 1. The World's Destiny v1 2. The World's Dilemma v. 2-3 3. The World's Despair v. 4 4. The World's Defender v. 5-10 Our Defender is a Lamb... 1. A Lamb that Died 2. A Lamb that Lives 3. A Lamb that Reigns 4. A Lamb that Saves Why is the Lamb worthy? He was put to death He has purchased a people He has prepared a kingdom
In Revelation 5, John sees a mysterious scroll with seven seals–God's last will and testament revealing what His children will inherit! Sadly, no one can be found to claim the Title Deed to the Universe. Until a Lion roars… and a Lamb appears! Only the Lamb who was slain is worthy to open the scroll and claim Heaven's Throne!
