On the night of Friday, October 23, 2015, 18-year-old Ebby Steppach attended a party in Little Rock, Arkansas. The following evening, she texted her stepfather and said she'd been sexually assaulted at the party and asked if he would go with her to the police. He said yes. But after that, she never contacted him again. Calls and texts from her family went unanswered until the next afternoon, when Ebby called her older brother. She was disoriented, thinking she was outside his house, even though she wasn't. Her family frantically reported her missing and began searching. Within a week, her car was found abandoned at a local park. But there was no sign of Ebby. Searches in and around that park continued for years with no answers. Then, two and a half years later, Ebby's body was found just 70 feet inside a drainage pipe that opened just feet from where her car had been left behind. Now, nearly a decade later, her family, friends, and the Little Rock Police Department are still searching for the person—or people—responsible for ending Ebby's life. On Friday, October 23, 2015, Ebby Steppach attended a party. Afterward, she told friends and family she had been sexually assaulted and may have been recorded without her consent. The following day, she planned to report the assault to police—but then, she disappeared. For nearly 24 hours, no one could reach her. Then, on Sunday, October 25, Ebby called her brother. She sounded disoriented and claimed she was outside his house, but she wasn't there. When he called her back, she said she was in her car—a silver Volkswagen Passat—but didn't know where she was. That call was the last time anyone in her family heard from her. Ebby's car was later found abandoned in Chalamont Park. Her phone, wallet, and contact lenses were still inside. But Ebby was nowhere to be found. In May 2018, Ebby's remains were recovered from a drainage pipe, just feet from where her car had been found. Her death is being investigated as a homicide. This week Mandy tells the story of the disappearance and murder of Ebby Stappach.
We first brought you Ebby's story back in March of 2017. Ebby's mom, Laurie, told us about her frustrating journey to have her daughter's case investigated properly. At the end of our original episode, there was a new team looking into her disappearance. Laurie was hopeful. A little over a year later, there would be a major break in the case when detective Tommy Hudson decided to search areas of the park where Ebby's car had been found. Areas that her family had been told were searched previously. That was when they discovered Ebby's remains just 60 feet from where her car had been found. In this update, Laurie is joining us again to discuss how Ebby was found and where her case stands today. Ebby Steppach was 18 years old when she disappeared from her hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas, just days after a party where she alleged that four men sexually assaulted her and recorded their actions on a cellphone. For nearly three years, no trace of her was found. In 2018, authorities returned to the park where her abandoned car had been found just days after her disappearance, and it was there that they located the remains of Ebby Steppach; she had been there the entire time that she was missing. Today, Ebby's murder remains unsolved and no one has ever been charged or arrested in connection with her case._________________________YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2Q1EZyOPaPjYh9LiVDSbsAPodchaser | Leave a review: https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/crime-and-crime-again-1440387Buy Me A Coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/crimeagainpodFacebook Discussion Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/751716995667739/Music: "Poisoned Rose" by Aakash Gandhi on YouTube's Audio Library_________________________Featured Podcast: A Few Bad Apples - https://linktr.ee/afewbadapples_________________________Sources:• https://www.arkansasonline.com/ebby/m/• https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2017/oct/29/search-ebby-parents-friends-hold-out-hope-missing-/• https://storiesoftheunsolved.com/2019/02/02/the-murder-of-ebby-steppach/• https://katv.com/news/local/police-confirm-ebby-steppachs-remains-found-at-little-rock-park• https://www.thv11.com/article/news/crime/unsolved-ebby-steppach/91-d36beb91-5c5c-4c9a-80aa-bb0fd31b2489• https://katv.com/news/local/dead-teens-loved-ones-question-little-rock-police• https://katv.com/news/local/lead-investigator-for-natalee-holloway-joins-search-for-lr-missing-teen• https://katv.com/news/local/missing-central-high-student• https://katv.com/news/local/still-no-sign-of-missing-little-rock-central-hs-student

This week Cody takes on the extremely disappointing effort involved in the Little Rock case of Ebby Steppach, and her suspicious death. Ashley covers the disappearance of David G. Morrison in Hammond, Indiana. Why is pineapple in the title? Just wait until you hear our sexual frustration solutions, and the ineptitude of both cases. Plus a news headline.
This episode digs into who Ebby was as a person, and delves deeper into some of the finer details from the investigation, with an emphasis on the early years. It also gives a specific chronology of the detectives that have been in charge of this case. Here we are introduced to the current lead detective, Tommy Hudson, who was a retired LRPD detective until he came out of retirement to solve the case.

This episode chronicles the timeline of her disappearance, and gives insight into the early days of the flawed investigation. A case that could have been solved within hours has been left unsolved thanks to the Little Rock police department, and has caused many people to still ask themselves, "what happened to Ebby Steppach?"

#GhostStoriesWithAnjelah - Ep. 16 Frankie J tells a story from his dad's childhood. A fan talks about how her medium abilities solved a crime, a patient haunts a dailysis unit on an Indian Reservation and some ghosts haunts this poor woman's house... all this on an jam packed ghost stories. Dont forget to subscribe / listen to the replay. Laughonbeat.com FAN STORIES FROM TODAY'S EPISODE. Angelia She is a medium still learning the “ins and outs” of her ability. She's been hearing and seeing ghosts since she was young. A few years ago a friend told her about a missing girl from her town. She told her friend what she felt about it and 2 years later they found the girl's body and everything she said about it made perfect sense. The missing woman was Ebby Steppach who went missing in 2015 in Little Rock I believe. A friend of mine became really interested in the case (she lived in the same town) a year later after the police still had no leads. It was 2016 and I had just started telling friends and family that I had medium abilities. She messaged me and asked if I felt anything about this case. Over the next few days I slowly got info from who I assume was Ebby. She told me that she had passed on. She also gave me clues to where her body was. Not far from her car, where the water and land meet, the word Osprey and over and over she kept telling me to follow the pink. I gave my friend that info. I didn't contact police because I still, almost 8 years into this journey, don't have the best confidence when it comes to my gift. You also don't know how the police will react to that sort of thing. I honestly forgot all about it until 2 years later when my friend messaged me again. She said that the police found Ebby's body and that everything I told her 2 years earlier matched up. She was found very close to where her vehicle was parked. She was left in a drainage pipe so that would be where the water and land meet. According to my friend the company who makes the drainage pipes is called Osprey and on the day they found her there were pink flags, from land surveyors, leading up to where the pipe was located. I still have that message saved in my phone because whenever I am doubting myself I like to look back at it. I actually have a lot of messages from readings that I've done over the years because I like going back and reading them once in awhile. Brenda She is a nurse and was working at a dialysis center on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming. She's seen several “people” there when she was the only one in the building. The first time it happened, she went back into the unit to clock out and use the restroom. When she clocked out she saw someone in a lab coat walk past the break room. She immediately got chills and when she looked out into the hallway and called out to see if someone was there, no one was there and all the patient lockers were wide open. Jeanette - Saw a shadow of a guy walking up and down stairs and he would turn on all the electronics in the bedroom downstairs. She was supposed to be featured on the saw in Dec and couldn't make it. #podcast #ghoststories #frankiej #anjelahjohnson

Ebby Steppach, known to her classmates and family members as Ebby Jane, was an independent, hardworking, and protective friend.
