Jerry Cook built his first race car at age 13, but didn't start driving until age 19. Even then he had to falsify his age in order to compete because under then NASCAR rules he was too young to race. Cook eventually earned six championships, often competing in 90 to 96 races annually, and was named one of NASCAR's 50 greatest drivers. In this episode, Cook talks about his racing career, his rivalry with Richie Evans, his transition from competitor to NASCAR executive, his current involvement in racing at age 77, and his family's role in motorsports.

We teach our kids a lot of things - some big and some small. One of the big things we are responsible to help them learn and manage is money. On the podcast today I interview Sarah Cook. After observing one of her children, Sarah realized she needed to learn how to help him have the ability to make his own money and be successful if he chose not to go to college. Her research led to interviewing many children and their parents from around the world who had successfully started businesses. She and her husband, Jerry Cook, decided to compile all they learned into a book called "The Parent's Guide to Raising CEO Kids". We discuss why the book is helpful not only to parents of children wanting to start their own businesses but really anyone wanting to start a business. We also chat about how Sarah herself had to change her money stories and how that has led her to be a successful entrepreneur herself. If you have a child interested in starting their own business, want to start a business as a family to make some extra cash, or want to start a business yourself, this is a must listen to episode.

On October 26, 2005 Vegan Radio broadcast for the first time from behind the old school consoles of Valley Free Radio in Northampton, MA (103.3 FM). We were all nervous when we interviewed Howard Lyman, and we pre-recorded nearly everything. But look how far we've come! We do almost everything live, and we are loose as a goose chillin at Farm Sanctuary. Still, the equipment at the radio station haunts us, and in this show we have some trouble keeping our interviewees on the line.To celebrate our 20th show we're bringing a couple of our old guests into the studio to join in while we interview our guests. Joining us in the studio from Show 17 we have "the veganator" Jerry Cook and from Show 16 vegan musician Kyle Vincent. We interview naturalist "Wildman" Steve Brill, who gives tours of Central Park and metropolitan NY where he teaches people about wild edibles. Our musical guest is The Giving Tree Band, Chicago's own original all-acoustic string band. With all these people in the studio, the great interviews we have lined up (and the technical difficulties) we skip the Naked News and just get down to it. Thanks for joining us and supporting us for 20 episodes!
