Is the cancellation of THE ACOLYTE a bad omen for the future of STAR WARS? Andres Cabrera joins DJ and Roxy to discuss the abrupt end of the divisive show. THE ACOLYTE, created by Leslye Headland and starring Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Charlie Barnett, and Dafne Keen met significant backlash from the fandom, but was it warranted? Is there a future for STAR WARS beyond the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal), Grogu, and Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson), and should we be worried for the cast of the SKELETON CREW? Send us a Text Message. This 1983 comedy was directed by Joel Schumacher, yes that Joel Schumacher. It stars our favorite leading Hollywood crazy, Gary Busey. It has Max Gail (Barney Miller), Adam Baldwin (No Relation to Those Other Baldwins), Marsha Warfield (Night Court), comedian Charlie Barnett, comedian Paul Rodriguez, the Barbarian Twins (remember that movie?) & "We Pity The Fool" who doesn't remember Mr. T. How can this movie be bad? Well for one, it sits at 18% on Rotten Tomatoes, one of the hosts hasn't even seen it, and the other host hasn't seen it since the 80s. Join us as we go back to the 80s and watch this zany comedy that may or may not be as good as one of us remembers.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

THAT ENDING SCENE…The Acolyte Episode 1x6 Full Reaction Watch Along: https://www.patreon.com/thereelrejects After the Sith Revealed in Acolyte Episode 5 with the Jedi Lightsaber fight scenes, we now hop into The Acolyte Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Analysis, Spoiler Review, & Theories! In Episode 6 of "The Acolyte," titled "Teach/Corrupt," the story continues to unfold with Osha waking up in an unfamiliar cave on an "Unknown Planet," resembling the planet where Rey trained with Luke Skywalker. The episode reveals that Osha has been abducted by Qimir, who was once a Jedi "a long time ago.” The episode focuses on the interactions between Osha and Qimir as he attempts to persuade her to question the teachings of the Jedi Order. Qimir challenges Osha's beliefs about the Force and her role as a Jedi, suggesting that the Jedi abandoned her because of her unresolved emotions and the power she possesses. He offers her a choice to leave or stay with him, hinting at a deeper connection to her potential. Meanwhile, Sol is dealing with the aftermath of the previous episode's events, struggling to communicate with the Jedi Council and facing the consequences of his past actions. He also starts to suspect that Mae, who is pretending to be Osha, is not who she claims to be. The episode ends with a cliffhanger, as Osha puts on Qimir's helmet, which is said to provide sensory deprivation and a connection to the Force. This act symbolizes her potential turn to the dark side and the growing influence of Qimir on her. The cast features Amandla Stenberg as Mae, Lee Jung-jae as Master Sol, Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity from The Matrix) as Indara, Manny Jacinto as Qimir, Dafne Keen (X23 from Logan) as Jecki Lon, Charlie Barnett as Yord Fandar, Jodie Turner-Smith as Mother Aniseya, Rebecca Henderson as Vernestra Rwoh, Joonas Suotamo as Kelnacca, a Wookiee Jedi. An interesting first thought on the new Disney+ Star Wars series THE ACOLYTE. While the story is still unraveling we decided we wanted to look at these 1st four episodes with you The Friday Night Faithful. The series has not been without its share of controversy amongst fans and non-fans alike some going as far as to say it's the herald to the death of Star Wars. What do we think?
The Acolyte is the latest Star Wars live-action show to hit Disney+ (its first two episodes, out of eight, drop on June 5th), and promises to be one of the most exciting additions yet to that galaxy far, far away. Part murder mystery, part exploration of the High Republic and a time when the Jedi were in their pomp, and the Sith were just beginning to rise again, Leslye Headland's show has a lot going on. And in this special preview episode, Ben Travis talks to Headland and her lead, Amandla Stenberg, plus cast members Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett and, via the aid of an interpreter, South Korean star Lee Jung-jae. Then Ben joins Chris Hewitt in the virtual podbooth for a breakdown of what to expect from the show. Two words: Jedi Wookiee. Enjoy — and don't forget to subscribe, if you haven't already, to the Empire Podcast Spoiler Specials feed to hear weekly spoiler pods about the show.
