Kelley James joins us. First a singer-songwriter turned freestyle rapper that's become a fixture on the PGA TOUR, Kelley tells us how all that came to be, the anxiety that goes into doing these, where the line is in how far do you go, the amazement to never meeting someone like Justin Thomas to then being at his wedding, his connection with Steph Curry's Eat.Learn.Play initiative at much much more. Major thanks to Kelley for the time today.
As the @LeBatardShow has charted their own course, we reached outside of the DLS Universe and talked to @YourBoyKJ! Find out how this singer/songwriter got his start in music and how that tied into his love of sports. Kelley was also showed off his freestyle skills as we threw topics at him and he created something magical. #LourRangerLineup @wapplehouse @BeepCount @los_jiv @jayher17 @Fleminem_raps
Kelley James is a unique guest on The Great Unlearn today and shares a ton of wisdom surrounding the life-giving concept of simply learning to be yourself.Kelley is a husband, father and musical savant– freestyling his way through PGA Tours and private events, engaging with his audience in a way that only he can. He may have given us a dose of this gift of his within the podcast ;)In this episode he shares his realization that aspirations can only get us so far and that dreams can sometimes even guide us away from our own innate gifts and true path. After all, learning to be yourself and honing in on our own desires is what really creates a fulfilling life.Kelley and I explore many lessons including… → Always returning to our inner tracker.→ Deviating from our dreams to be on our own unique path, not someone else's.→ Giving ourselves grace to pivot when something doesn't serve us anymore.→ How dreams are here to inspire us, not drive us.→ How the comparison game robs us of enjoying our own unique gifts in life.Connect with Kelley:• Instagram: https://bit.ly/30n7Slo• Website: https://www.kelleyjames.comConnect with Cal:• UnlearnX: https://www.thegreatunlearn.com/unlearn-x• Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cal.callahan/• Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thegreatunlearn• YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/thegreatunlearn/• Website: https://www.thegreatunlearn.com• Newsletter: https://www.thegreatunlearn.com/newsletter

Renown musician and freestyle rapper, Kelley James (@kelleyjamesmusic), and special guest, O.A.R. lead singer, Marc Roberge (@marcroberge) join The Brink of Midnight Podcast with John Brenkus. Kelley James has carved out a unique niche in the music world. Sought out out for being a high profile event performer and freestyle rapper, he's played over 1000 shows to date and has toured and opened for acts like Kid Rock, Robin Thicke, LMFAO, Goo Goo Dolls, Sara Bareilles, Weezer, and O.A.R., among many others. Even more impressive is the roster of companies where Kelley is often the featured act: Oakley, Red Bull, Vans, Corona, Honda, AT&T, Google, Spin Magazine, Wheels Up, and more. Kelley got his start as a singer songwriter, but soon realized that his strength was harnessing the combination of his own musical ability, what's happening in the moment, news and pop culture, and creating a crazy, unique experience. No two shows are alike and Kelley prides himself on genuinely surrendering to being in the flow, whether that's freestyle rapping, playing guitar, channeling grunge or pop, or mashing it all up. In this conversation, he hones in on what can help us all climb whatever mountain we're on and it comes down to getting really honest with yourself, asking for constructive criticism at every point, and being willing to put yourself out there knowing full well that you will fail, but grow, along the way. This episode gets really special when Kelley invites close friend and O.A.R. lead singer, Marc Roberge, to join the conversation and share how his band got their start. Marc offers up some great gems on what it takes to make it, and then Kelley and Mark treat us with a surprise jam session! Marc hops on the guitar while Kelley freestyle raps on the topic of what else -- life-changing moments!
