Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1593"You got to always be smiling, you got to always be happy, you got to always be that. And that is hard." - Gabriel IglesiasGabriel Iglesias walks through the world as Fluffy. Not sometimes. Not on stage. Always. When people see him on the street, they don't call out his actual name. They see the character, the persona, the guy who's supposed to make them smile. And here's what that actually means: he avoids going out in public when he's dealing with personal problems because he's terrified of running into someone when he's not in the right headspace. He can't vent on stage about things that anger him. He can't talk politics. He can't be fully himself in the work that made him successful. The identity that launched his career now limits it. But here's where it gets interesting. When fans recognize him, they don't treat him like a celebrity. They treat him like family they haven't seen in years. The warmth is real; the connection is deep. People tell him his comedy saved them during their darkest moments, and when he hears that, it snaps him out of whatever mood he's in. It puts his private struggles into perspective. After years of hiding the hard parts, Gabriel is finally incorporating them into his work. The plane crash that almost killed him and made the news. The home invasion where someone went through his things. The awkward reunion with the father he hadn't seen in 15 years. He's learning to transform those experiences into comedy, finding ways to make near-death funny, and sharing the not-so-pleasant parts of life while maintaining the core of what people love about Fluffy. The sacrifice is real. The pressure is constant. But he's made peace with it because the impact matters more than the freedom to vent. Sometimes success means choosing what serves others over what feels good in the moment, and that choice, that conscious sacrifice, is what separates people who sustain their impact from those who burn out fighting for complete authenticity in a world that needs them to be something specific.Sign up for the Greatness newsletter: http://www.greatness.com/newsletter Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Content warning: contains strong partisan commentary, discussion of censorship, and media criticism. In this episode, the host connects two big stories under one theme: censorship and market reality. First, the fallout from Nina Jankowicz's failed lawsuit against Fox News — dismissed after the judge sided with Fox, which the host frames as proof that the “disinformation czar” really was set to be a chief censor. Then, a pivot to late-night TV: Jimmy Kimmel's ratings collapse, down 45% in less than a year, sparking questions about his future on ABC and whether political comedy has outlived its moment. The host contrasts Kimmel's dwindling numbers with YouTube comedy giants like Gabriel Iglesias and Nate Bargatze, arguing that online creators are crushing traditional late-night. Meanwhile, Democrats cry “censorship” over Kimmel's troubles, despite previously championing government crackdowns on conservative speech. The conclusion? This isn't censorship — it's capitalism and changing audience habits. A fiery mix of media takedowns, political hypocrisy, and a reminder that the marketplace still rules.
Content warning: strong partisan commentary, discussion of censorship, political violence, and sensitive allegations. In this episode, the host connects a series of flashpoints in politics, media, and culture. First, Nina Jankowicz's defamation suit against Fox News is tossed out in court — framed as a win against the “disinformation czar” and proof that censorship concerns were real. Then, a takedown of Jimmy Kimmel's collapsing late-night ratings, contrasting his 45% audience drop with the skyrocketing online reach of comedians like Gabriel Iglesias. The verdict: the marketplace, not censorship, is forcing change in media. The discussion shifts to local controversy as the NAACP protests a Turning Point USA club at JL Mann High School — which the host interprets as a desperate move to cancel Charlie Kirk's legacy. From there, the rhetoric sharpens into claims about Antifa violence, transgender activism, and even alleged pedophilia connections tied to the suspect in Kirk's assassination. The episode closes on a dramatically different note: Greenville's Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, highlighting long lines of officers, community donations, and a chance to say “thank you” to those in uniform. A fiery mix of courtroom wins, collapsing ratings, cultural clashes, and community gratitude.

When you think of adjectives starting with 'f' that describe comedians you might think of "funny," "fast," and "fierce" -- but you may not think of "fluffy" -- not unless you are fans of Gabriel Iglesias who has ridden family-friendly and playful comedy to the top of the business. Always rotund, Gabriel was nicknamed "fluffy" by his mom -- we hope she gets a cut because it has become his trademark. From an early spot on the Nickelodeon kids show All That to a turn at Last Comic Standing Gabe kept climbing the career ladder. Along the way he also starred in a popular sitcom and has developed a fine resume of voice acting work. But Gabriel has never wandered far from the stand-up stage, hosting a Comedy Central Stand Up series and starring in numerous specials of his own. And to put the cherry on top, in 2022 Gabriel became the first comic to sell out a show at Dodger Stadium -- not bad for a kid called "fluffy"! As always find extended cuts below and thanks for sharing our shows! Want more Fluffy? Fluffy has turned out to be a great, if unusual, nickname for Gabe and her he tells Jimmy Fallon the origin story. https://www.tiktok.com/@fallont.../video/7476524565150223662 When Gabe was on Last Comic Standing he was disqualified for using a cellphone to talk with family. Always a standup he turned that setback into instant material for his next special. https://youtu.be/A0BsqoMndz8?si=R5HM2qAt2zSwh3h7 From 2019-21 Gabe starred in a fun sitcom -- Mr. Iglesias -- which starred him as a high school history teacher. Here's the first episode. https://youtu.be/qGIPoodveZM?si=j2Y0jE03pYK7ffaV Gabe continues to be a top standup draw and his latest Netflix special -- 2025's Legend of Fluffy -- shows him in top form. https://youtu.be/ybzJy_jdJgA?si=iBS9ZUo6Zdtcb7Lf
