Before we can even begin doing what Action Surge is actually here for, which is reflecting on the previous episode, we somehow open the show with legs above the heart and a sexual intimidation roll-off. Naturally. How else were we meant to concentrate? We talk about how Harry tried to deliver story, lore, and information to the party without dumping it on the players. Despite the warmth and safety of a good, comfortable inn, Raidion's decision to stay sober for an entire session was a genuine moment of character growth. We also look at the role reversal in this episode. Kel really let his hair down, and we were all delighted. It has also been a while since we met any of the Grēnweard brothers, so Harry shares a bit more insight into the most bookish of them, Torrian, especially when compared to Eiddon. Realistically, not many people compare to Eiddon. And let us be honest, who among us does not have a crush on Dolly? Plus, it might actually be comforting for Elowen to hear news of her brother after everything she has been through.Naturally, we also talk about the hotties of Reliquiae so far. From Morgan, to Aska (who can absolutely make us feel special any time), to Medea (everyone has a type, we are not here to judge), and now Lovak. The group might have been a little starved for attention, and we're thrilled to hear that he knows what he's doing. Then there is the amulet. Raidion might not have been drinking, but he certainly didn't stay out of trouble. We chat about that moment, the beauty of detail-oriented Doug and Kelyn's, and how he loves encouraging little character beats to happen. Finally, we talk about death at the table and the important role it can play when it is used thoughtfully. Harry has never really hidden that he sometimes regrets not killing a brother or two back at Castle Grēnweard. And we also learn that the song From the Darkness Light does not actually have any lyrics, which is frankly devastating. We simply want to hear Harry sing.Oh, and the Reliquiae master document? It is currently sitting at 328 pages and still growing. Also, gag reflexes. For reasons. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Pastor Jordan Perkins 1 Peter 2:4-10 A sermon of Rocky Mountain Community Church, PCA in Billings, MT (11/02/2025)
Our very own Pastor Tai Bestick continues our Light in Darkness series with a sermon called, "Light of the World".
In this powerful message, Pastor Bailey unpacks John 8 and Jesus' bold declaration: “I am the Light of the World.” From the unforgettable story of the woman caught in adultery to the call to “go and sin no more,” this word will challenge and encourage you to step out of the shadows and live in the freedom only Christ can bring. Discover three life-changing truths about what happens when the light of Jesus shines on our lives: Conviction over Condemnation – His light doesn't destroy us, it restores us. Repent or Live in Rebellion – Freedom comes through humble obedience. Walk in Light or Walk in Darkness – Light always overcomes the dark. This isn't just a story from Scripture—it's an invitation. No matter how deep the darkness, the light of Christ can break through and set you free. Don't miss this message—share it with someone who needs hope today.
Old Testament Reading Isaiah 42:1-9New Testament Reading John 1:4-13
During five agonizing months in the hospital, physical pain, emotional anguish and unceasing monotony were constant companions. And yet, one thing I treasured was the sound of the door opening each afternoon with the hospital volunteer delivering mail. Over those months, I was blessed to receive hundreds of get-well cards, love notes and care packages. Sometimes I'd recognize the sender's signature, but far more often the note of encouragement would come from someone I had never met. Each note though- whether from a friend or stranger- provided a lifeline to a world outside those four walls, reminding me that someone, somewhere, was thinking of me. It didn't necessarily change my day, but it reminded me I wasn't alone. I thought of that kindness when I read the story of this month's On Fire For Good honoree. Let me explain.
Parshas Tetzaveh: From Darkness, Light This week's Parsha shifts from the Mishkan's construction to those who serve within it. The Menorah's light reminds us that every Jew fuels the divine presence, ensuring G-d's light shines in all circumstances. As Purim approaches, we see this in Mordechai's leadership—true leaders ignite faith and redemption even in the darkest times.

Reverend Brennan McCafferty - Scripture: Isaiah 9:1-7
With the Winter Solstice approaching, I've been reflecting on this season of deep darkness and stillness. Winter has always been a challenge for me—I see its beauty, but I also struggle with the cold and the long nights. Over the years, I've started to see winter as an invitation to slow down and rest. Nature hibernates, but society pushes us to stay busy, especially during the holidays. This creates tension that many of us feel. The solstice reminds me to pause and honor the darkness—not as something to fear, but as a time for reflection and growth. Rest has been a big lesson for me, especially as someone who's tied success to productivity. I'm learning that slowing down is not only necessary but powerful. Here are some journaling prompts I've been working with this season: What am I resisting in this season of life? How can I honor my energy while still showing up for loved ones? What might I gain if I allowed myself to truly slow down? What can I release to feel lighter this season? How can I create intentional space for rest in my life? This solstice, I invite you to embrace stillness. Light a candle, pause, and reflect: What if rest is exactly what we need to prepare for what's next?If you enjoyed this episode, please subscribe to The Holistic Living Podcast and leave a review. Scandal. Matthew 1:1-18-25 ESV. Jonathan Kerhoulas.
Rev. Alexa Rossi | Isaiah 9:2-7With the birth of Christ, God reveals that his plan of redemption finds its fullness in a child. Darkness is no more because of the character and eternality of this man Jesus, who is the light dawning as living hope. We don't manufacture optimism in challenging circumstances, we choose hope even when there's no evidence that circumstances will get better–because the strength of our hope lies in a person whose life overcomes even death.
A History of Hope. Matthew 1:1-17 ESV. Jeff Bruecker.
Apex Campus Pastor Josh Ingram preaches a message of hope from Isaiah 9.
John opens with a great battle of light vs. dark; good vs. evil. Of course we think we're on the good-guy team. If so, a 1000 page/1000 year rescue operation would not have been necessary. Everybody starts on the wrong team. The question is then, what will we do now? Watch for 7 epic minutes. Like. Subscribe. See you tomorrow? https://youtu.be/MZY2HQsKynA

The one-long-song album is a rare event in the metal genre, and a tough assignment to tackle and get right. We hold up these five albums as the finest examples of the approach. While it's difficult to convey their scope in snippet form, we tried our best and had a lot of fun doing so. (Incidentally, this also happens to be one of our longest-ever episodes!) Join us, even if these albums only have one good song on them… Note I: The Radical Research Patreon page is now set up and ready for your patronage. We are offering tiered subscription levels for those who want a set-it-and-forget-it donation option. This podcast is conceived and conducted by Jeff Wagner and Hunter Ginn. Though we consume music in a variety of ways, we give particular privilege to the immersive, full-album listening experience. Likewise, we believe that tangible music formats help provide the richest, most rewarding immersions and that music, artwork, and song titles cooperate to produce a singular effect on the listener. Great music is worth more than we ever pay for it.
