Today's Promise: 1 Corinthians 15:22 Because of Adam, sin and death entered the world. But because of Jesus, we have something far greater: life.   In this episode, we look at the powerful promise of how we are made alive in Christ. Death is something none of us can avoid. We can eat right, exercise, and take care of our bodies, but eventually, we will all face death. Yet for the believer, death is not the end. It is temporary.   Because Jesus conquered the grave, those who belong to Him have the hope of resurrection. The Bible describes believers who have died as being "asleep in Christ." One day, Jesus will awaken them to eternal life in His presence.   But here's the good news: you don't have to wait until heaven to experience this life. The life of Christ is already in you. You are alive in Christ. And because He lives, you will live also.

Before we celebrate baptism, we need to understand what it represents. In Ephesians 2, we see the reality of our condition apart from God—dead in sin and unable to save ourselves. But because of His great love, God makes us alive through the grace of Jesus. This message reminds us that salvation is not something we achieve, but something we receive, and that through Christ we are given new life, new identity, and new purpose.

But because He conquered sin and death, we have a living hope that is ours through our faith in His Name. Romans 5:12 — In the previous sermon, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones addressed that all humanity sinned when Adam sinned. But how is it that all sin in Adam? In this sermon on Romans 5:12 titled “Made Alive in Christ,” Dr. Lloyd-Jones dives into this topic by looking into several different views. The first view is the realistic view, which states that the whole of humanity resided in Adam. Because of this, when Adam sinned, all humanity sinned. Second is the representation view. This view states that Adam's sin was passed to all because God had appointed him as the representative for all humanity. Dr. Lloyd-Jones states that his view of Scripture shows a mixture of these two views. He looks at the parallel between Adam and Christ. He shows how both Adam and Christ were appointed by God and represented all humanity. Adam represented all in his sin and Jesus represented all in His obedience. Dr. Lloyd-Jones ends his sermon by pointing out the important truth that Jesus is the last Adam. There will be no one to come after Him who will again represent all of humanity. Christians can rejoice in that fact, knowing that they can forever rest in the work of Jesus Christ.
