The Daily Promise

Today's Promise: Jeremiah 1:5 God knows you. He knows all about you. In fact, there is nothing hidden from Him. He knows the good, the bad, and everything in between. Before you ever took your first breath, God knew you. He knew how tall or short you would be, the color of your eyes, hair, and skin, plus a thousand other details. You are not a genetic accident; you were created by God the Father. He not only knew you, but He formed you for His purpose. He made you for His purpose and called you to fulfill that purpose in Him.

Today's promise: Colossians 1:21-22 As a new creation, Jesus presents you to God without sin or accusation. God didn't wait for you to clean up your act before He began His work of salvation. This promise describes three ways Christ presents you to God. 1. He presents you holy. 2. He presents you as faultless. 3. He presents you blameless. You are not the person you used to be. God has removed your past and forgiven your sin. Jesus presents you holy, faultless, and blameless before God.

Today's Promise: Hebrews 13:20-21 God has already qualified, empowered, and equipped you to walk in obedience to Him and serve Him with faithfulness and power. Whatever God calls you to today, He has already equipped you to handle it. God never commands you to do something that He doesn't empower you to accomplish. When I was a boy, our pastor used to say, "God doesn't call the qualified; He qualifies the called." No matter what you may face today, you can accomplish all God has for you because He has already equipped you. You have all you need for victory and obedience.

Today's Promise: Psalm 145:9 God is good. Goodness is part of His character. Goodness is at the heart of all He is. He is not just mighty, not just powerful, not just eternal; He is good. Because God is good, He does good. God's goodness sent His only Son into this world. It was His goodness that brought about your salvation. God pours out his goodness on all of His creation. His goodness blessed those who love Him and those who hate Him. He offers His mercy to all who will come to Him.

Today's Promise: Matthew 21:22 God loves answering His children's prayers. However, there is a condition to this promise on prayer. Your prayer must accompany your prayer with faith. Praying in faith can move mountains; praying without faith is a waste of time. Many people pray, but they don't really believe God will answer their prayers. Because they are just going through the motions, they never see the results of their prayer. Prayer without faith is simply talking to yourself. Praying in faith makes your prayer life more dynamic as you see more and more of your prayers answered.

Today's Promise: Philippians 2:13 The Christian life begins in the heart. God works in your heart to bring about His will and desire. So many Christians try to obey God on the outside without allowing God to change them on the inside. The Christian life is all about allowing the Holy Spirit to transform and empower your thinking so that your actions follow. You will find new strength and power to live the Christian life in victory and service to Christ as you allow God to transform and empower your heart.

Today's Promise: John 4:23 As a Christian, you have a unique ability to worship God. Only you can worship Him in Spirit and Truth. No other creature can lift up praise and worship like you. Jesus said that to please God with real worship, we must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Real worship begins in the spirit. It isn't about the style, the posture, or even the volume. Real worship is based on truth. Honesty is the beginning point of God-pleasing worship. God loves it when His children come to Him in thankful praise and worship.

Today's Promise: 2 John 1:3 As followers of Christ, God fills our lives with grace, mercy, and peace. Grace is the unmerited favor of God. No matter how good you are or how hard you try, it won't affect your standing with God. God's mercy sent Jesus into the world to save you from your sin. It is God's mercy that created your salvation. Peace is the result of God's grace and mercy working in your life. Because of His grace and mercy, you have peace. God's mercy and grace come together to bring about God's peace in your life.

Today's Promise: 2 Peter 3:9 With all the challenges and pressures you face, I want to remember that God is patient with you. Almost every spiritual giant in the Bible had a significant setback or failure. For example, the night Jesus was arrested, Peter had a chance to make a stand for Christ. The good news is that God understands your weakness. He knows your weakness and frailty. God is patiently working in your life. He knows your weaknesses and your failures, but is committed to bringing you into a closer relationship with Him.

Today's Promise: Colossians 1:13 Because of your faith in Christ, you are part of God's kingdom, the Kingdom of Light. There are two invisible kingdoms in the world: the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of Light. The kingdom of darkness is ruled by Satan and is set on your destruction. The kingdom of light is the kingdom of God and gives life, love, and freedom. The power of sin is broken, and Satan has no claim on you. Through your faith in Christ, you are now a citizen of heaven.

Today's Promise: John 16:33 Jesus promises you peace. Peace isn't the absence of conflict, problems, or difficulties. Peace comes from understanding that God is in control and that He cares for you. Peace comes from living under the reign of Christ in your life. When you live in the peace of Christ, He gives you peace with your past, peace in your heart, and peace in the storm. Jesus never guaranteed a problem-free life. He even said you will have problems and difficulties. However, He also promised that because He overcame the world, His peace will rest on you.

Today's Promise: Proverbs 3:11-12 Many people think that God's discipline is God punishing His children. Every problem they encounter is seen as God's judgment. When something terrible happens, their first thought is that God is punishing them. They don't see God as the loving Father who desires the best for them. This verse is more about training than punishment. God is always working in your life for your good. God allows various trials in your life to build your faith and trust in Him. As your faith is tested, it grows and develops.

Today's Promise: 2 Corinthians 10:5 How you think affects how you live. So now, more than ever, it's important to control your thinking. To walk in the victory Christ promises, you must control your mind by constantly guarding what you allow in your mind and what you think about. Here are five things about taking every thought captive. 1. Monitor Your Thoughts. 2. Capture Your Thoughts Early. 3. Submit Your Thoughts. 4. Redirect Your Thoughts. 5. Transform Your Thinking. As a follower of Christ, you can take every thought captive through the power of the Holy Spirit in you.

Today's Promise: Galatians 3:29 As a child of God, you have a birthright. You are an heir to all the promises of God. A prince becomes heir to the throne simply because he was born into the royal family. When you placed your faith in Christ, you became a child of the great King of Kings. You were born into the royal family of God.  As an heir, you don't have to do anything to receive your inheritance. As an heir of Christ, all the promises of God are yours.

Today's Promise: 1 Thessalonians 4:17 As Christians, we look forward to the return of Christ. The return of Christ has been the greatest source of hope for Christians for almost two thousand years. Ever since Jesus ascended into heaven, we, as Christians, have been looking forward to His return. As a Christian, you look forward to the day when you see Jesus in the air, face to face. When He returns, He will set up His eternal kingdom, and you will live in His presence for all eternity.

Today's Promise: 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 Right now, a battle is raging. You may not see it or even feel it, but don't be fooled; you live on a battlefield. It's an invisible battle waged and won in the spiritual realm. You can't win a spiritual battle with physical weapons. To fight a spiritual enemy, you must fight a spiritual battle. Thankfully, God has given you spiritual weapons to fight the forces of darkness in a spiritual battle. Don't let the battle go unchecked. Instead, use the spiritual weapons God has given you.

Today's Promise: Hebrews 12:1 Every day, you are running a race. It's not in the physical world but in the spiritual. In heaven, the stands are full of those who have gone before you, cheering you on to victory. This spiritual race is not always easy, and sometimes you feel like giving up. Thoughts of fear, failure, and discouragement often crowd your mind. When you feel like quitting, remember that a crowd of witnesses is cheering you on.  They are watching your progress and praying for your success. 

Today's Promise: Psalm 1:3 Psalm 1 describes a person who “delights in” or makes the Word of God their priority. When you build your life on the word of God, you become like a tree that produces good fruit. A healthy tree will not only produce quality fruit but will also produce large quantities of fruit. When you have an active walk with God, spiritual fruit naturally grows in your life. There are two types of spiritual fruit God is growing in your life. 1. The Fruit of the Spirit. 2. The fruit of changed lives. God promises that you will be fruitful as you delight in His word.

Today's Promise: Romans 8:37 God promises that no matter what comes into your life, you have victory through Christ. Every day, you enter a battle and face enemies of various kinds. Some strong, some small, and some frightening, but in Jesus Christ, you can overcome them all. You are victorious in every area of your life because the Holy Spirit fills and empowers you. No matter what the enemy throws at you today, you have victory. The one who loves you completely makes you a conqueror in every area of life.

Today's Promise: Psalm 23:2 With everything going on these past few months, many of our stress levels have gone through the roof. Yet, as the Good Shepherd, God promises a quiet place where we can rest under His watchful care. The Bible often describes us as sheep. However, sheep aren't the smartest of animals. Sheep are very fearful. They are easily spooked and completely defenseless. They need a caring shepherd to watch over them, provide for them, and keep them safe. God is watching over you today. He is leading you to a place of rest and renewal.

Today's Promise: Psalm 103:8 Do you see God as an angry judge, an impersonal force, or a loving father? Your view of God affects how you live the Christian life. Often, your view of God has more to do with how you were raised than what the Bible says about God. The only way to have an accurate view of God is to base it on what the Bible says about who God is and what He is like. This promise gives us four-character qualities of God. We are focusing on that last phrase: He abounds with lovingkindness.

Today's Promise: John 7:39 So many Christians know very little about the Holy Spirit. Yet, when you gave your heart to Christ, the Holy Spirit took up residence in you. Everything God is doing in your life today, He does through the Holy Spirit. Today we look at seven ways the Holy Spirit is working in our lives today. The secret to a successful Christian life is walking in the power God gives us through the Holy Spirit.

Today's Promise: Genesis 1:27 This promise is one of the most important and powerful verses in God's Word. You are created. The God who spread the stars across the sky created you. You are not an accident; God created you with a purpose and plan in mind. God created you in His image. What does it mean to be "created in His image?" First, you have eternity in your heart. Second, you are self-aware. Third, you are creative. Fourth, you reflect the glory of God. You are not an accident; you are the handiwork of the great creator God. God in God's image for His glory.

Today's Promise: Ephesians 1:3 You are blessed. It's a fact. God has blessed you! He has poured out every spiritual blessing on you through His love and grace. To be blessed by God is to walk in His favor. It is allowing God to bring about good things in your life. The phrase "spiritual blessings" in this promise isn't referring to the blessing we receive when we get to heaven. Instead, spiritual blessings are the blessing brought to you through the work of the Holy Spirit in your life.

Today's Promise: Malachi 3:6 Even though the world around us is constantly changing, the God we serve never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Change can also be a source of stress and confusion. What you counted on yesterday isn't available today; things have changed. There is one who never changes. The God you serve is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Since God never changes, His word and promise never change. He still overflows with grace and mercy. He is still the God who rolls up His sleeves and gets involved in your life.

Today's Promise: Jude 24 The book of Jude ends with this powerful benediction on the grand purpose and plan Jesus has for you. Every day, Jesus is watching over you to bring about His good work in you. This promise gives you three things Jesus is doing in your life today. First, Jesus keeps you secure in your salvation. He is working to keep you from falling in your faith and from the faith. Second, Jesus is working in you to present you blameless before God. Finally, Jesus will present you with great joy to God the Father.

Today's Promise: Matthew 6:19-20 You have a choice as to where you can invest your wealth. You can invest it here on earth or in eternity. Jesus was not against wealth. He never taught that wealth was a sin or that wealthy people were evil. He did remind us that earthly wealth is fleeting. No matter how hard you try or how much money you make, you can't take it with you. The only investments that last forever are those made into the kingdom of God. Kingdom investment is not always about money. It can be about time or talent. How are you investing in the Kingdom of God?

Today's Promise: Titus 3:5 Nothing you can do will make you good enough for God to love you. So many people go through life hoping to be good enough for God. The truth is that even if you try your hardest and do your best, you will still fall short of being good enough for God. "The good news is that your goodness has nothing to do with God's love for you. This promise serves as a reminder that you are saved not because of the good things you have done, but solely because of God's mercy which has been poured out on you."

Today's Promise: Joshua 21:45 As I read the Bible, I am always amazed at how God sneaks a very powerful promise right in the middle of a very fairly mundane passage. This chapter ends with a final, sweeping confirmation of how God fulfilled every promise He made to Israel. Not one of God's promises failed. God has not changed since the days of Joshua. He is still the promise-keeping God. If you are holding onto a promise today, keep holding on. Don't lose heart. God hasn't forgotten you, and He is working right now to bring it to pass.

Today's Promise: Philippians 3:20 In this episode, we look at six things God says about heaven. As a Christian, you need never worry about "if" you will go to heaven. Through faith in Christ, you have the promise that when you close your eyes in death, you will open them in the presence of God. As citizens of heaven, we live in this world differently. We know that it is just a temporary place before we spend eternity in heaven.

Today's Promise: Ephesians 6:10 Sooner or later, you'll discover you're living on a spiritual battlefield. You may not see it as you drive to the office or take the kids to school, but a spiritual battle is waging all around you. The forces of darkness are coming against you and your family. The only way to survive and thrive in the victory Christ has promised is to live in the strength and power of God. God commands you to be strong in Him. He commands you to tap into His unlimited power and strength.

Today's Promise: Ephesians 1:18-19 When God began working in your life, He opened your eyes to His love for you. When you came to Christ, He gave you the ability to understand spiritual truth. Today, He will enlighten you about His love and all He has for you. As you learn to walk in the spiritual truth He has shown you, God opens your eyes to new and deeper spiritual truths. No matter where you are in your walk with God, He has more spiritual truth to show you. God wants to open your spiritual eyes to new truth in Him.

Today's Promise: Matthew 28:20 At the end of the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus makes three incredible statements. First, He declares that He has been given all authority in heaven and earth. Second, He instructs His disciples to take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Finally, He makes the promise we focus on today. "I am with you always." As you go through your day, remember, through the Holy Spirit, Jesus is with you. Rest in His presence, and trust His guidance.

Today's Promise: Isaiah 1:18 We all sin. It's both a part of our nature and our actions. Sin is a reality. Usually, when we sin, the last person we want to talk with is God. However, God invites us to come to Him when we sin. When we come to Him, He provides forgiveness and cleansing for our sins. The dark stains of our hearts can be cleansed and made as white as snow through the forgiveness God provides. Instead of running from God when you sin, come to Him with your sin. He will forgive your sin and cleanse your heart.

Today's Promise: 2 Samuel 22:34 If you ever feel like you are out on a limb or in way above your head, God promises to secure your steps and keep you from falling. When we step out in faith and climb up to all God has for us, He secures our feet like the deer. If you are out on a limb today, God will secure your footing. He will not allow you to fall. He will direct your path and keep you steading even when you are out on the tiniest of limbs.

Today's Promise: Psalm 139:17-18 Stop for a moment and consider that God is thinking about you right now. Like a loving parent, you are always on His mind. His thoughts are so numerous that to count them would be like trying to count the stars in the sky or the grains of sand on the beach. Even when you walk up in the middle of the night, you will find you are on God's mind. You can rest easy because the God you serve is thinking about you, watching over you, and working for your good.

Today's Promise: John 15:16 It's a little hard to wrap your head around this, but the God of the universe chose you. He spoke to your heart and drew you to Himself. Before the world ever began, God chose you to be his child. God chose you to be His child. You had nothing of value to offer God. You were no better than anyone else. There is absolutely no reason for God to choose you, but He did. He chose you and called you to be His child.  

Today's promise: 2 Samuel 22:29 This promise shows up as David expresses his praise and thankfulness for God delivering him from his enemies and King Saul. David declares that God is His lamp. A burning lamp was the symbol of lasting happiness and strength. The lamp provided consistent light. Here are three things the Lamp of God brings. The lamp of God brings clarity. The lamp of God removes fears. The lamp of God keeps you from harm. You could say the second part of this promise this way. "My God is the one who turns my darkness into light."

Today's Promise: Romans 8:15 Are you living the Christian life as a slave or as an adopted child of God? Your answer to that question has a major impact on your walk with God. If you think of yourself as a slave of Christ, you will always live in fear. If you see yourself as an adopted child of God, everything changes. You no longer live in fear but enjoy a loving relationship with your Heavenly Father. In this episode, we cover four things those who see God as their loving father know.

Today's Promise: Psalm 34:19 So many people expect the Christian life to be free of struggles, difficulties, or problems. The Psalmist comes right out and says that those who follow God will have difficulties. In fact, he says there will be many of them. The Bible never promises God will exempt you from every trouble or problem. The Bible does promise that God will deliver those who follow Him out of all their afflictions. There are at least four ways God delivers you. Remember, there is always more deliverance than there are problems.

Today's Promise: Philippians 4:19 Do you ever felt like you just don't have what it takes to get through the day? Ever felt like you needed more time, strength, and stamina to accomplish everything you needed to do? We have all been there. We've all had times when we felt like we just couldn't make it. I have good news for you! The God you serve is meeting your every need in Christ Jesus. He promised to meet every need that comes into your life.

Today's Promise: Psalm 31:24 You have a future as long as you have hope, but when you lose hope, you lose everything. When you hope in the Lord, you put your complete faith and trust that what God has said, He will do. As you hope in the Lord, two things happen in your life. 1. Hope gives you new strength. 2. Hope gives you new courage. The greatest hope is the promise of eternal life. You don't have to wish for eternal life. You can know that when you die, you will spend eternity with Jesus.
