I recently competed in a large BJJ competition in Long Beach, CA and I lost. In this episode, I've been able to reflect on entering this season of competing, the efforts I made to get there, and how I did it with the least amount of toxicity as possible. Miranda and I have been working together through her pregnancy and postpartum return to the Octagon. At seven months postpartum, we met up for a weekend to really dial-in her training, and troubleshoot some of the symptoms she was experiencing now that her fighting intensity has increased. We discuss positions she was peeing in when fighting, and the adjustments that we have made to her fighting, and her strength and conditioning to give her the confidence and function she needs to perform. UFC Fight Night 183 features a short-notice, life-saving bout between Paul Felder and Rafael dos Anjos. If it were not for the fill-in, chances are we were looking at a main event between Abdul Razak Alhasan and Khaos Williams. Alhasan and Williams will now feature in the co-main event which promises to be exciting. Sean Strickland will make what seems to be an immediate return to the UFC octagon to face Brendan Allen, another fighter who lost an opponent to the COVID-19 pandemic. The best part about UFC Vegas 14 is that there are 3 very competitive women's bouts that feature prospects Kay Hansen, Cory McKenna, Miranda Granger and Kanako Murata. Both Ashley Yoder and Randa Markos will be the UFC veterans hoping to put a stop to Granger and Murata's aspirations, respectively. Last but certainly not least, the main card will feature a great fight between Ultimate Fighter alumni Julian Marquez and Saparbek Safarov. This promises to be a slugfest between two very game UFC fighters.
