Somehow, Frieren and Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring is a part of it as a crossover, and Helen had a great story to tell involving earrings and which one it needs to go on for this rabbit, but found out that those without a Bluesky account can’t see it. Guess who found this out mid-podcast? 1:03:43: We will now have Baki’s dad in Tekken 8, meaning these anime/manga characters appearing in fighting games has gone up somehow. 1:05:19: Usually we put a manga getting a US live action in this section because again, these normally don’t work out very well — somehow it’s that and weird because it’s one of most unlikeliest manga to get a US live-action series…it’s based off a Josei manga series! Elle reçoit Pierre Vavasseur pour son livre « L'homme humilié » chez Buchet-Chastel Et les coups de cœur de Barbara Lambert pour « La pharmacie » de Pascal Leclercq aux éditions DO et « Terra Murata » de Laura Ulonati chez Denoël À propos du livre : « L'homme humilié » paru aux éditions Buchet-Chastel Henri-Lazare était polisseur sur marbre. Un matin, alors qu'il se rendait à son atelier, l'appel d'air d'un camion le projeta sur le côté, tête la première sur un gros caillou. Il en gardera une lenteur, une démarche d'infirme. « Tu voulais être tailleur de pierre, c'est une pierre qui t'a taillé », résume Pierre Vavasseur, son fils. C'est lui qui prend la plume pour restaurer l'honneur de ce père. Car ce dernier fut contraint de laver les sols de l'usine, malgré son handicap ; d'ignorer les railleries ; d'encaisser l'amertume de sa femme, que l'aigreur avait rendue méchante. Ce père-là parlait à peine, aimait dessiner. Dire « mon p'tiot », c'était déclarer son amour. En retour, Pierre Vavasseur, enfant, lui massait les pieds. D'une écriture tremblante et magnifique, il déploie un monde disparu, où les hommes broyés trouvent encore la force d'être doux. Où les fils, devenus grands, devenus manieurs de mots, peuvent, enfin, réparer les pères. Pierre Vavasseur est né en 1955 à Chalon-sur-Saône. Il est écrivain, poète et journaliste. Il signe ici son texte le plus personnel. À propos du livre : « La pharmacie » paru aux éditions DO Comment se forment les souvenirs de jeunesse, ceux qui fondent une existence ? Cet événement sonne le départ d'une quête pour tenter de reconstituer ce lieu devenu pour lui comme légendaire, avec les êtres et les objets qui le peuplaient, avec ses coins et ses recoins, dont chacun recèle sa propre histoire tout en faisant partie d'un ensemble. De cette quête, néanmoins, il ne pourra que très vite constater l'échec... en même temps, bien sûr, qu'il est en train de l'écrire. La Pharmacie est une tendre et délicate méditation sur l'enfance et l'âge adulte, le rêve et la réalité, le souvenir et l'oubli. Elle a même parfois le goût de la miche dorée à la croûte croquante du petit-déjeuner du dimanche. Pascal Leclercq est né en 1975 à Liège. Poète, typoète et traducteur de l'italien, il a fondé les ateliers d'impression Poésie Pur Porc au sein desquels s'épanouissent les éditions du Boustrographe et la revue plastique et poétique Boustro. Il a notamment publié Epuisé (La Dragonne, 2o18), Analyse de la menace (Maelström, 2018) et Dans un pays pourtant phénoménal (L'Herbe qui tremble, 2022). À propos du livre : « Terra Murata » paru aux éditions Denoël Il y a des branches jusqu'au sommet du parapet, jusqu'à l'ancien chemin de ronde qui avait résisté pendant quatre siècles aux attaques de pirates. Rien ne résiste à l'homme fort — à l'homme violent. À part sa fille — qui refuse d'obéir, rejetant le carcan de la tradition qui pèse sur elle. Tel Thésée face à son Minotaure, Imma affronte lepère tout-puissant. Mais triompher de lui, c'est aussi braver les yeux aveugles de Terra Murata, c'est briser les attaches du passé pour prendre son envol.

I can't remember the last time a novel evoked such strong--and opposing!--reactions. This 2018 novella appealed back then but my re-reading was even more satisfying.
