Hey family, God has a plan for each and every one of us. This Sunday we will learn how he sets up that plan. Then he invites us into it--and finally he invests in us, so that we can fulfill the part he has for us. Please join us in welcoming our guest speaker, church planter Mozart Dixon, who knows a thing or two about how God sets a person's life in motion. We look forward to seeing you at 10 a.m. Sunday at 360 Schermerhorn, and please bring your kids ages 5-12 to experience their own iGnite Kidz Sunday service. PLEASE NOTE!!! Atlantic Avenue will be closed between Hicks 4th Avenue for the annual Atlantic Antic street fair. If at all possible, take public transportation to church on Sunday. ANNOUNCEMENTS New Zoom Bible study--WHISPER, how to hear the voice of God. Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Meeting ID: 837 5461 9002, Passcode: 731840. Many people have a tough time believing that God still speaks. We’ve learned from Scripture that God spoke to His people in ancient times and in mysterious ways, but how do we hear His voice now? The truth is God still communicates with His people, but He often speaks in a whisper—not to make it difficult to hear Him, but to draw us close. In this 4-session series, Mark Batterson teaches what it means for Christians to discern the voice of God in their lives. Sign up with Elizabeth Cintron or send your email to education@nextstepcc.org. Women’s Bible study—Thursdays at 6 p.m. All are welcome! Conference call number (not Zoom): 425-436-6345, access code 46167
Greg talks with Mozart Dixon. Mozart shares about healthy church multiplication, and the importance of having a mission, vision, and values not just for your church, but also in your personal life. Mozart Dixon has been in vocational ministry for 14 years in various capacities from college ministry to church planting. In 2016, Mozart co-planted a church in Lincoln, NE to reach college students and the surrounding community. That church multiplied into 3 more church plants before Mozart and his family moved to NYC to see the multiethnic Kingdom multiplied through directing church planting in the Northeast for the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Starting in mid-January 2023, Mozart will become the new VP of Stadia's Church Multiplication Lab. He holds a Masters in Christian Studies and is currently working on his doctorate of ministry through Alliance Theological Seminary. Mozart enjoys his family, friends, basketball, and eating good food. He lives in the Harlem neighborhood of NYC with his wife, Colleen, their daughters Evangeline (11) and Misha (7), and sons Uriah (9) and Hayes (3).
