But, context and intent are important, so here's Elvis in own words: "If I wrote that song today, maybe I'd think twice about it. That's what my grandfather was called in the British army – it's historically a fact – but people hear that word, go off like a bell, and accuse me of something that I didn't intend." Also, Michael Jackson did have some notable successes between "Ben" and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" both with and without his brothers, including "Dancing Machine," "I am Love," "Just a Little Bit Of You," "Blame It On The Boogie," and "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)."

Tito Jackson was an original founding member of The Jackson 5, alongside his brothers Jermaine and Jackie. Marlon and Michael Jackson joined the group soon after and the band signed to Motown. Their first 4 singles - "I Want You Back", "ABC", "The Love You Save" and "I'll Be There" all went to No. 1. Their later career as The Jacksons saw them release more classic recordings such as "Can You Feel It?", "Blame It On The Boogie" and "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)". Undoubtedly a key part of one of the most legendary families in the history of showbusiness, Tito joins Tom for a conversation about his long career and plans for the future.

Dive into Disco history as we bring you an incredible mix of legendary Trash Disco tracks. In the early days, these songs were crafted by live musicians, resulting in intricate beats that may sound mismatched. Thanks to modern technology, we've aligned the beats for smooth DJ transitions, but the original recordings often had timing issues. To correct this, we've employed automated beat correction, creating what I like to call "dirty beats" reminiscent of the '90s garage sound. One standout track, "Hit 'N Run Lover" by Carol Jiana, required extensive adjustments due to misaligned drums and percussion. Despite the challenges, we've included it to honor its importance in Disco history. Relive the glory days of old school disco with timeless classics like Sister Sledge's "Lost In Music" and Karen Young's "Hot Shot," Get down to Linda Clifford's "If My Friends Could See Me Now" and CJ & Co.'s "Devil's Gun." Feel the groove with Inner Life's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" featuring the fabulous vocals of Jocelyn Brown and enjoy Donna Summer's "I Love You" from her critically acclaimed "Once Upon A Time" concept album. Let Gloria Gaynor's "Never Can Say Goodbye" and Village People's "San Francisco [You've Got Me]" transport you to the heart of the disco era. And that's just the beginning! Prepare for a dancefloor extravaganza with Old School Disco tracks that will keep you moving. From Chic's "Le Freak" to The Jacksons' "Shake Your Body [Down To The Ground]," the energy is unstoppable. Experience the magic of Patrice Rushen's "Haven't You Heard" and the infectious rhythms of Boney M's "Sunny". Don't miss out on this incredible collection of Old School Disco gems. Let the music take you on a journey back in time. Until the next time...ENJOY! Album: Trash Disco | The Ultimate Collection Vol. 3Artists: VariousGenre: DiscoLength: 02:46:50 1. There's always something to be learned from every gig, isn't there? Really, though, it all comes down to awareness and having an honest conversation with your audience. That starts on stage, of course, but it can very much continue when you're not even in the same room together. Paul and Dave talk through all of this and more. Seasons 1 and 2 are consolidated in this episode to observe the birth and progression of this special program. When "Club Soda" first aired on the KJHK 90.7FM, there wasn't much continuous mixing applied. As a radio DJ, I had not discovered within myself to mix songs in a club style until later on. 10 years later, a retro set was crafted to take a look at history in a nonstop mix. A short 30 minutes full of glorious club classics from the 70s and 80s come together to provide a groove that will set you on a stroll down through memory lane. It just seems like the newer generation of music listeners do not recognize the significance of music from those decades anymore. Although it's a short episode, this won't be the last time you'll hear of this. Kicking off with a powerful anthem from Gloria Gaynor to meeting up with Barry Manilow at "Copacabana", we will start at a steady tempo and gradually increase as the mix moves forward. "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor "Copacabana" by Barry Manilow "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper "Hot Stuff" by Donna Summer "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)" by The Jacksons "Let's Groove" by Earth, Wind & Fire "Superfreak" by Rick James "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps "You're the First, the Last, My Everything" by Barry White "So Many Men, So Little Time" by Miquel Brown "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls "Beat It" by Michael Jackson

These records were dusty and hard to mix (pre-drum machine) so please forgive some of the transitions! I tried to pick songs that have sweeping crescendos, driving pianos and soulful vocals- elements that became the roots of house music.
