Send us a textIn this heartfelt episode of Breakfast with Tiffany Show, host Tiffany Rossdale welcomes Wendy Cole, an inspiring transition mentor who began her gender transition at the age of 67. Wendy's extraordinary story is one of courage, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of authenticity. After spending decades conforming to societal and familial expectations, Wendy finally took the bold step to live as her true self, proving that it's never too late to embrace change and find joy in being authentic.Wendy takes us back to her early years, painting a vivid picture of the challenges she faced growing up in a time when understanding of transgender identities was scarce. From childhood confusion to experiences of societal rejection and gaslighting, she speaks openly about the repression she endured and how it delayed her transition for years. Despite these hardships, Wendy emerged stronger, and her story is a testament to the power of self-acceptance and the transformative impact of choosing to live authentically. The episode also explores Wendy's work as a transition mentor, where she uses her life experiences to guide others through their own transformative journeys. With a focus on mindfulness and emotional well-being, she discusses how the mental aspects of transitioning often outweigh the physical, and how shifting thoughts and beliefs is key to overcoming fear and embracing self-love. Her message is clear: no matter your age, you deserve to live as your true self, and doing so can profoundly improve your emotional and physical health.Join Tiffany and Wendy in Part 1 of this moving conversation as they discuss the challenges and triumphs of gender transition, the importance of self-love, and the freedom that comes with living authentically. Whether you're navigating your own journey or simply seeking inspiration, this episode is a powerful reminder that it's never too late to become who you truly are. Upon finally arriving to our pigskin-themed main event, we delight in the multi-hyphenate nature of the 1978 romantic comedy fantasy sports yarn and try and catch our breathes from the insistent, stifling DRAMA in all caps (no cap, fr fr) of the 2004 high school sports saga. Dawn is the second film in Romero's series of zombie films, and though it contains no characters or settings from the preceding film Night of the Living Dead (1968), it shows the larger-scale effects of a zombie apocalypse on society. In the film, a phenomenon of unidentified origin has caused the reanimation of the dead, who prey on human flesh. David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott Reiniger, and Gaylen Ross star as survivors of the outbreak who barricade themselves inside a suburban shopping mall amid mass hysteria. Born To Watch - A Movie Podcast

GREASE - was a pop culture musical phenomenon that took the world by storm and become a right of passage for any child in the 80s and beyond. The Born to Watch team tackles this classic and hand jive all the way to Graduation.Released over four decades ago, "Grease" (1978) remains an iconic and beloved musical that continues to captivate audiences of all ages with its infectious energy, memorable tunes, and timeless themes. Directed by Randal Kleiser and based on the 1971 musical of the same name by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, the film has solidified its place in cinematic history as a quintessential representation of 1950s nostalgia, high school romance, and the power of self-discovery. From its catchy melodies to its vibrant choreography, "Grease" radiates a distinct charm that has stood the test of time.Set in the summer of 1959, "Grease" follows the whirlwind romance between Danny Zuko (John Travolta), a leather-clad bad boy with a heart of gold, and Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton-John), a wholesome Australian exchange student. After a chance encounter during their summer break, the couple faces the challenges of navigating the social dynamics of Rydell High School upon their unexpected reunion. Danny's tough-guy reputation clashes with Sandy's good-girl image, setting the stage for a delightful exploration of teenage identity, peer pressure, and the transformative power of love.At its core, "Grease" is a celebration of youthful exuberance and the trials and tribulations of teenage life. The film expertly captures the spirit of the 1950s, from the fashion and music to the burgeoning cultural shifts of the era. The lively musical numbers, including classics like "Summer Nights," "You're the One That I Want," and "Greased Lightnin'," are not only irresistibly catchy but also serve as windows into the characters' emotions and desires. The soundtrack's timeless appeal is a testament to its enduring popularity, with audiences across generations still tapping their feet and singing along.John Travolta's charismatic portrayal of Danny Zuko is a highlight of the film, as he effortlessly embodies the role of the lovable rebel torn between maintaining his tough image and pursuing genuine love. Olivia Newton-John's performance as Sandy is equally captivating, as she transitions from the demure, naive newcomer to a confident young woman unafraid to express her true self. The chemistry between Travolta and Newton-John is palpable, lending authenticity to their characters' emotional journey and making their on-screen romance all the more believable. The supporting cast adds depth and humor to the story, with standout performances from Stockard Channing as the sassy and rebellious Rizzo, Jeff Conaway as Danny's loyal friend Kenickie, and Didi Conn as the quirky and endearing Frenchy. Each character brings a unique flavor to the narrative, showcasing the diversity of personalities that make up the high school experience.Randal Kleiser's direction brings a visually vibrant and energetic atmosphere to "Grease." The film's iconic dance sequences, choreographed by Patricia Birch, are a sight to behold, combining slick moves and exuberant choreography that perfectly complement the film's lively musical numbers. The high-energy dance-off at the school carnival and the electrifying hand jive scene are just a few examples of the film's memorable moments that have become ingrained in popular culture.Beyond the catchy tunes and lively performances, "Grease" delves into relatable themes of self-acceptance and the challenges of finding one's identity in the face of societal expectations. The characters' struggles to fit in, overcome peer pressure, and forge genuine connections remain relevant to audiences today. The film's ultimate message of embracing one's true self and following one's heart resonates across generations, reminding viewers that authenticity and self-discovery are timeless pursuits. However, it's important to acknowledge that "Grease" has faced criticism for its portrayal of certain gender dynamics and its lack of diversity. The film primarily revolves around heterosexual relationships and conforms to traditional gender roles, which may be at odds with contemporary sensibilities. Moreover, the absence of racial diversity within the main cast and the predominantly white portrayal of a high school in the 1950s overlooks the multicultural reality of American schools during that period. In conclusion, "Grease" (1978) remains a cinematic gem that continues to shine brightly in the pantheon of musicals. Its infectious energy, unforgettable characters, and timeless themes make it a perennial favorite that has earned its place in the hearts of audiences worldwide. While it may not be without its flaws, the film's enduring charm, catchy music, and vibrant dance sequences ensure that it will remain a beloved classic for generations to come. "Grease" transports us back to a simpler time while reminding us that the journey of self-discovery and love is a universal and everlasting one. Please follow the Podcast and join our community at https://linktr.ee/borntowatchpodcast If you are looking to start a podcast and want a host or get guests to pipe in remotely, look no further than Riverside.fmClick the link below https://riverside.fm/?utm_campaign=campaign_1&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=rewardful&via=matthew

Just when you thought it was safe to re-watch a sequel. As co-host Christina exclaims in this episode, “No one talks about Jaws 2.” Back in 1978, though, they sure did, and for a variety of reasons. Most critics trashed it. Audiences devoured it. Roy Scheider didn't even want to be part of it. Yes, “Jaws 2” tore people up with its clunky shark, screaming teens and awfully familiar storyline. But now, decades later, were we all too hard on this big-fish flick? Could it have ever lived up to the first film? And were Martin and Ellen Brody the cutest darn movie couple of the 1970's?The Old Roommates grab their life vests and give it all a rewatch. Christopher Reeve beat out James Brolin, Perry King and oodles of other actors for dual role of Clark Kent and Superman. And yet, he still gets third billing after Brando and Hackman. Casting aside casting, Richard Donner's 1978 “Superman: The Movie” was a record-breaking blockbuster. It also needed to be. At the time, it was the most expensive film ever made. But now, decades later, when every other movie is a superhero extravaganza, how does this comic book caper hold up? And, how will the Man of Steel's CGI look through our hosts' middle-aged lenses?
