Hey, y'all! This week we discuss the national convention held by the Socialist Party USA. Mostly we talk quite a bit about the platform, a little about ASMR soybean harvesting, and a medium amount about the radness of VP nominee Stephanie Cholensky.

This episode of TMI is devoted to a man I first met on Facebook over seven years ago. Co-chair and 2016 Presidential Candidate of the Socialist Party USA, he was a tireless champion of the people, and a seemingly endless resource for modern Socialism. Cancer took him just over a week ago. I felt compelled to pay tribute to a man who, though I never met in person, was the kind of person where that barely affected how much he was able to connect with you. Farewell, Emidio "Mimi" Soltysik. Rest in Peace. Rest in Power.

Today I had the privilege and honor of speaking with Green Party VP pick Angela Walker.  Organizer, activist, socialist, she's the soulful voice of the working class. Angela has been an activist since she was a teenager when she successfully organized students to get black history classes into the curriculum of her Bay View High School in Milwaukee. As a public transit bus driver and Legislative Director of her Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) local in Milwaukee, Angela was a leader in the Winter-Spring 2011 Wisconsin Uprising against Gov. Scott Walker's union-busting attack on the collective bargaining rights of public employees. In the Fall of 2011, Angela played a leading roles in Occupy Milwaukee and the Milwaukee chapter of Occupy the Hood, which sought to represent the interests of oppressed people and bring people of color into the Occupy Movement. In 2014, Angela ran as an independent socialist and Black Lives Matter activist for sheriff of Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. Her opponent was the incumbent David Clarke, the cowboy-hat-wearing conservative Fox News pundit who had been appointed sheriff by a Republican governor and re-elected three times as a Democrat. Angela won 20% of the vote with the message that the best way to cut street crime and violence was to fight poverty and economic frustration with living wages, affordable housing, grocery stores in food desserts, and good health care and public transit. She pledged no cooperation with ICE on the detention of immigrants without court-ordered warrants. Angela already has experience running for vice president. Sanders is ahead in the Democratic polls. He is not even a Democrat, he is not even a socialist, he is right on the edge of being a communist. If Sanders were applying for a Cabinet post, he would never pass an FBI background check. When he attended the University of Chicago, Sanders joined the Young People's Socialist League, the youth wing of the Socialist Party USA. He organized communist events and was a front, the United Packinghouse Workers Union, that was under investigation by the House Committee on Un-American Activities. He headed the American People's History Society, hat is an organ for marxist propaganda. The produced a documentary on the life of socialist revolutionary Eugene Debs, who was jailed for espionage during the Red Scare and hailed by the Bolsheviks as "America's greatest Marxist." Bernie has made a lot of promises to give American's free stuff, but that stuff comes with a prices and it is call socialist marxist views on controlling the American people. Bernie should be considered an enemy of the people, not a friend, not a leader. Bernie will take this country, our freedoms and destroy them because he believes in an elite form of government where he takes control of every process of living. That is scary and unaccaptable to the American people.

Tonight I will be interviewing Billy Wharton, co-chair of the Socialist Party USA, and editor of the "Socialist Webzine." He has been an outspoken critic of Obama, "he may in fact not even be a liberal. Socialists understand him more as a hedge-fund Democrat -- one of a generation of neoliberal politicians firmly committed to free-market policies." he penned in 2009 to a but of notoriety in his article, "Obama's No Socialist. I Should Know."   I'll be asking about the campaign, about Obamacare and how to move the Country to a REAL Socialist agenda.

We will revisit his platform, check in how the campaign is advancing, and talk about his opinions on some of the current stories in the news.
