Lana Silk of the Christian organization Transform Iran said, “Police are indiscriminately shooting into the crowds. The people try to fight back, but they are unarmed and almost entirely defenseless.” She is certain that more than 12,000 Iranians have been killed, and quite possibly 30,000 or more, reports International Christian Concern. She said, “The streets are now being patrolled by tanks and aggressive armed security forces. People are being rounded up, beaten, imprisoned, and killed. Men, women, and children, it doesn't matter.” Anyone who dares to go outside is in danger. Though Iran's Islamic regime, where 95% of the population is Muslim, treats almost none of its people well, it tends to be especially ruthless with its Christian minority. Iran is currently ranked as the 10th-most oppressive country for Christians. The Iranian government makes no secret about its attitude toward Christianity. Such worship in the country's main language -- Persian, also known as Farsi -- is essentially outlawed, as is any Christian literature written in that language. Matthew 5:10 says, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.” Vice President Vance announces expansion of Mexico City Policy Appearing at the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Vice President J.D. Vance spoke up for life, reports LifeNews.com. VANCE: “With the Dobbs decision, what the President did, what the Supreme Court did, was put a definitive end to the tyranny of judicial rule on the question of human life. He shattered a 50-year culture of disposability, one that treated human life as expendable the moment that it became inconvenient. And he empowered our nation and our movement to build a culture of life from the grassroots up.” Vice President Vance outlined some of the Trump administration's pro-life accomplishments. VANCE: “We started by undoing the evils we saw under the previous administration, like, for example, throwing priests and grandmothers in prison for praying outside a[n abortion] clinic. That's over; we stopped it. (cheers) “Where the previous administration mandated taxpayer funding for abortions, including travel costs across the entire government, this administration ended it. (cheers) We have expanded conscience protections for health care workers and defended faith based foster care and adoption. “This administration launched fraud investigations into Planned Parenthood affiliates (cheers) for millions of dollars in [Paycheck Protection Program] loans that were unlawfully received and unlawfully forgiven by the Biden administration. You should not be able to commit fraud and use taxpayer money for abortion. It's that simple! (cheers) “At many of our departments, we've reinstated a ban on the use of fetal tissue in federal research. That's another big one, and this is something we're so proud of. We're returning accountability to our foreign policy as well. “Under Joe Biden, it was the policy of the United States to export abortion and radical gender ideology all around the world. That is what they did with your tax money. (boos) They would relentlessly bully developing countries into parroting their far left views. But under President Trump's leadership, and with our great Secretary of State, we believe that every country in the world has the duty to protect life.” And Vice President Vance cited an expansion of the pro-life Mexico City policy. VANCE: “Today, our administration is proud to announce a historic expansion of the Mexico City policy. We're going to start blocking every international [non-governmental organization] that performs or promotes abortion abroad from receiving $1 of U.S. money. (cheers) We're expanding this policy to protect life, to combat DEI, and the radical gender ideologies that prey on our children. “The rule will now cover every non-military foreign assistance that America sends. All in all, we have expanded the Mexico City policy about three times as big as it was before. And we're proud of it because we believe in fighting for life.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” ICE shot and killed man in Minneapolis Federal agents shot and killed a 37-year-old man in Minneapolis on Saturday morning, less than three weeks after an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Good, amid an ongoing surge in immigration enforcement action across the city, reports CBS News. Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse who worked at the Minneapolis Veterans Administration hospital, was identified as the man killed by a Border Patrol agent. CBS News in Minneapolis reported, “Videos from the scene show that Pretti was holding a cellphone, not a gun, when he was shot.”  However, ICE Commander Gregory Bovino said the agent acted in self-defense after attempting to disarm Pretti. Listen. BOVINO: “An individual approached us Border Patrol agents with a nine millimeter, semi-automatic handgun. The agents attempted to disarm the individual, but he violently resisted. Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, a Border Patrol agent fired defensive shots. “Medics on the scene immediately delivered medical aid to the subject, but the subject was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect also had two loaded magazines and no accessible ID. “This looks like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement. Then, about 200 rioters arrived at the scene and began to obstruct and assault law enforcement.” That's when an armored ICE vehicle was pelted by stones by angry Leftists. (audio from the streets of Minneapolis) Trump sues JPMorgan Chase for $5 billion over 'political' debanking And finally, President Donald Trump is suing the JPMorgan Chase bank and its CEO Jamie Dimon in a $5 billion lawsuit filed last Thursday, accusing the financial institution of debanking Trump for political reasons, reports Fox Business. The president's attorney, Alejandro Brito, filed the lawsuit Thursday morning in Florida state court in Miami on behalf of the president and several of his hospitality companies. Brito quoted JPMorgan's code of conduct, which states that the bank operates "with the highest level of integrity and ethical conduct." The Trump lawsuit asserts, "Despite claiming to hold these principles dear, [J.P. Morgan Chase violated them by unilaterally—and without warning or remedy—terminating several of [the] Plaintiff's bank accounts." This is not the first time. Sam Brownback, Trump's Ambassador for Religious Freedom, wrote a New York Post column last year in which he said, “If you've ever had a rug pulled out from under you, then you know how it feels to suddenly lose access to your own bank account.  That's what happened to me in 2022, when JPMorgan Chase, America's largest bank, abruptly canceled our newly opened account for the National Committee for Religious Freedom. “[We] launched a national campaign to collect and tell the stories of those who, like us, had been canceled or punished by their banks, payment processors or even insurance companies. Earlier this month, Harvest Chinese Christian Church in Los Angeles held an event called “Fasting Prayer Meeting for Persecuted Churches in China.” The event comes shortly after Chinese authorities detained the leaders of Early Rain Covenant Church. The congregation, like many “unregistered” churches in China, faces relentless persecution. International Christian Concern commented, “Please pray for these house church members in China, especially those who have been imprisoned or are missing after the police raids.” 1 Corinthians 12:26 says, “If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” China's birth rate plunged to a record low in 2025 Speaking of China, the country's birth rates plunged to a record low in 2025. New data from China's National Bureau of Statistics found there were 7.92 million births last year, down 17% from 2024. The birth rate in 2025 was 5.63 per 1,000 people. Meanwhile, the death rate rose to 8.04 per 1,000 people. Despite China's recent attempts to incentivize families to have children, the population has now fallen for the fourth consecutive year. A survey by Abacus Data found 50% of Canadians aged 18 to 29 would vote for the Conservative Party. Only 27% of that demographic would vote for the Liberal Party. The strongest support for the Liberals comes from people over 60. A decade of liberal polices has led to higher living costs, higher inflation, and higher taxes. Trump: “I will not use force” to get Greenland Yesterday, U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.  Notably, he announced that the United States would not use force to acquire Greenland. TRUMP: “We probably won't get anything unless I decide to use excessive strength and force, where we would be, frankly, unstoppable. But I won't do that. Okay. Now everyone's saying, ‘Oh, good!' “That's probably the biggest statement I've made because people thought I would use force. I don't have to use force. I don't want to use force. I won't use force.” President Trump also announced he will not be imposing tariffs on Denmark over the acquisition of Greenland. He wrote on Truth Social, “We have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region.” Arrests coming for Minneapolis leftists who invaded church service The Trump administration is investigating anti-ICE protesters who disrupted a house of worship in Minneapolis on Sunday. Kristi Noem, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary, wrote on X, “Arrests coming. … The First Amendment protects speech and peaceful assembly – not rioting. … These agitators will be held accountable.” The Department of Justice is also investigating the incident at Cities Church. Major snowstorm hits East Coast to Rocky Mountains The National Weather Service is expecting a significant winter storm to hit a large portion of the U.S. starting Friday. Heavy snow, sleet, and freezing rain is forecast all the way from the southern Rockies to the East Coast.  Much of the U.S. is already experiencing dangerously cold weather. Over 40 million people were under cold weather alerts as of Tuesday. Even parts of Florida are under alert. 463rd anniversary of Heidelberg Catechism And finally, this week marks the 463rd anniversary of the Heidelberg Catechism. The Protestant catechism was commissioned by Frederick III, the ruler of Germany's most influential province of Palatinate. The purpose of the catechism was for instructing the youth and for guiding pastors and teachers The catechism was the product of two young Protestant scholars—Zacharius Ursinus and Caspar Olevianus. The catechism was approved by a church synod in Heidelberg, Germany and published in German on January 19, 1563. It would become the most widely used catechism of the Reformation period.  The catechism's opening question reads, “What is your only comfort in life and death?” The answer begins, “That I am not my own, but belong—body and soul, in life and in death—to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ.” Romans 14:8 says, “For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. According to Iran International, smuggled out reports indicate that 330,000 Iranians have been injured.  One Tehran eye hospital, the Noor Clinic, documented around 7,000 eye injuries. This may be the highest death toll for a protest against government tyranny in modern history. By contrast, the Communist crackdown on Tiananmen Square protesters in Beijing, China in 1989 resulted in the deaths of up to 3,000 people.  Leftists storm Minneapolis church in anti-I.C.E. disruption Here in the United States, anti-ICE protesters disrupted a house of worship in Minneapolis on Sunday. ICE out.” Cities Church is pastored by Jonathan Parnell, a contributor to the Desiring God ministry, and father of eight children. The church was targeted because one of the pastors was employed by the ICE organization. Author Christopher Yuan wrote on X, “Pastor Jonathan Parnell handled himself so well in the midst of protestors disrupting his worship service. Pray for Cities Church to shine the light of the Gospel in the Twin Cities. Pray for the children who were probably traumatized by all this. This is the church where my friend David Mathis also serves as pastor as well as serving as executive director for Desiring God.”   Thankfully, the Department of Homeland Security has arrested 10,000 illegals in Minneapolis, according to Secretary Kristi Noem. In addition, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi promised that “intimidation of Christians [is] being met with the full force of federal law.” Lesbian Renee Good's relative: Wrath of God vs ungodliness Much of the national furor has surrounded the killing of Renee Good, who reportedly had an altercation with an ICE agent in the Minneapolis area. Good has been touted by the media as “a good Christian,” yet at the time of her death, she was in what Romans 1 calls an unnatural and wicked relationship with another woman.   Timmy Macklin, Renee Good's former father-in-law, and the grandfather of her 6-year-old son, was interviewed on CNN, on her tragic death. While stating his love for his former daughter-in-law, he warned of the wrath of God against ungodliness in this interview.   Listen. MACKLIN: “I don't have any enemies. I love everybody, and that's what the Bible tells us. Love our neighbors as we love ourselves. But you know, I think there's some bad choices. The Word says, ‘For the wrath of God will come upon the children of disobedience.' (Ephesians 5:6) “I don't blame ICE. I don't blame Rebecca. I don't blame Renee. If we're walking in the Spirit of God, I don't think she would have been there. That's the way I look at it. 73,000 illegals arrested by ICE The stats are in for ICE arrests and detentions. 27% of those arrested already had criminal convictions on record, and roughly 7% were felons. That's about the same rates for the average American citizen. However, 100% of those arrested and detained, have allegedly violated the law by entering the country illegally. As of today, about 73,000 people are on ICE detention, up from 14,000 at the end of the Biden administration. That amounts to only half a percent of the number of illegal persons living in the country. The number of unauthorized migrants hit 14 million in 2023, up from 3.5 million in 2000. Also, for the record, 59% of illegal immigrant households receive welfare, as compared with 39% of native households. Romans 13 reminds us that the ruler is “God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.  “Therefore, you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience' sake. For because of this, you also pay taxes, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.” Gold and silver hit new highs Gold scraped $4,700 an ounce and silver hit $95 an ounce in another hot market yesterday, reports InvestingNews.com.  That's a 125% gain on gold and 332% gain on silver in two years. Central banks are favoring gold over U.S. Treasuries. Economists are pointing to escalating geopolitical risks and a weakening dollar as reasons that are driving the increases. About a third of new mine supply of gold is going to the central banks now. China, Brazil, Turkey and Poland are the largest purchasers in recent months.  Denmark upset that America wants Greenland As the World Economic Forum is meeting this week, Denmark is conspicuously absent at the table as the nation's government protests the United States involvement, reports Forbes. President Donald Trump is still pushing for America's annexation of Greenland.  Greenland's high abortion rate Speaking of Greenland, it's famous for its high abortion rate — the highest in the world. There are more abortions there than births every year.   Also, in terms of public acceptance and early endorsement of homosexuality, Iceland, Greenland, and Denmark are the most pro-homosexual countries in the world. 68-year-old lost New Zealand man found after 17 days And finally, authorities in New Zealand called off the search for a hiker in the hinterlands of the Southern Island. A police post has announced that Graham Garnett, age 68, was found alive in the Kahurangi National park by contractors working the area, 17 days after he went missing. You just said a moment ago that ‘science and evidence should control, not politics.' So, let's just test that proposition. Can men get pregnant?” VERMA: “I take care of people with many identities, but …” HAWLEY: “Can men get pregnant?” VERMA: “I take care of many women that can get pregnant. I do take care of people that don't identify as women that…” HAWLEY: “Can men get pregnant?” VERMA: “Again, as I'm saying …” HAWLEY: “Let me just remind you what you testified to a moment ago. ‘Science and evidence should control, not politics.' Can men get pregnant? You're a doctor.” VERMA: “I totally agree that science and evidence should guide medicine.” HAWLEY: “Do science and evidence tell us that men can get pregnant? Biological men, can they get pregnant?” VERMA: “I also think yes/no questions like this are a political tool.” HAWLEY: “No, yes/no questions are about the truth, doctor. Let's not make a mockery of this proceeding. This is about science and evidence, and I'm asking you. “The United States Supreme Court just heard arguments yesterday at great length on this question. This is not a hypothetical question. This is not theoretical. It affects real people in their real lives. And you're here as an expert, called by the other side, as an expert. You're a doctor, and you follow the science and the evidence. So, I just want to know, based on the science, can men get pregnant? That's a ‘yes or no' question. It really is, I think.” VERMA: “I think you're trying to reduce the complexity of a lot.” HAWLEY: “I'm not. It's not complex. I'm trying to get to an answer, and I'm trying to test, frankly, your veracity as a medical professional and as a scientist. Can men get pregnant?” VERMA: “I think you're also conflating male and female.” HAWLEY: “This is extraordinary. No, I'm not conflating male with female. They're two different things. There's biological men and there's biological women. And I want to know, can men get pregnant?” VERMA: “What you are talking about is biological.” HAWLEY: “I'm not going to answer my question.” VERMA: “biological males….” HAWLEY: “This isn't hard, doctor. Can men get pregnant? Yes or No?” Instead of answering Senator Hawley's very simple question, Dr. Verma continued to play games and sidestep a direct answer. VERMA: “I would be more than happy to have a conversation with you that is not coming from a place of trying to be polarized and pushing…” HAWLEY: “I'm not trying to be polarizing. I'm trying to ask. I think it is extraordinary that we are here in a hearing about science and about women. And for the record, it's women who get pregnant, not men. “Science shows that this abortion drug causes adverse health events in 11% of cases. That's 22 times greater than the FDA label, another fact you haven't acknowledged, and yet you won't even acknowledge the basic reality that biological men don't get pregnant. “There's a difference between biological men and biological women. I don't know how we can take you seriously and your claims to be a person of science, if you won't level with us on this basic issue. I thought we were past all of this, frankly.” Christian publisher Robert Wolgemuth entered Heaven at 77 And finally, the widow of the recently deceased Christian author and publisher Robert Wolgemuth, remembered by ministry leaders as a “legend in Christian publishing,” has revealed additional details about his sudden death, reports the Christian Post. Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, the founder of Revive Our Hearts ministry, who married Wolgemuth in 2015, published a social media post last Thursday, providing additional details about her husband's final days before his death on January 10 at age 77.  She explained, “Early Christmas Eve morning, I took him to the ER, as he was in pain, struggling to breathe. He declined quickly and within a few days was totally unresponsive. On January 10, I returned to our home a widow. That same day, Robert moved to his eternal Home, to find unending joy and rest with Christ.”  Nancy added, “In the midst of tears aplenty, I rejoice in the incredible joy and gift of walking with Robert as his wife for the last ten years.” Evangelist Greg Laurie said, “Robert helped bring about the New Believer's Bible, which has literally touched millions of people around the world, as well as my book Jesus Revolution.  As Robert often said, ‘The anticipation of Heaven changes everything.'
