It has been over four hundred years since the coming of the Savior among the Nephites and Moroni alone is left to write a few words to us.He recounts the words of his father, Mormon, and teaches that we can learn to judge good from evil and all good things are of God.Faith is a prerequisite for miracles and the ministering of angels.Mormon taught his people that in order to be saved you must have faith, hope, and charity.Mormon wrote an epistle to Moroni detailing the wickedness of infant baptism because little children are saved in Christ. The Nephites had become more wicked than the Lamanites prior to their defeat. Mormon encourages Moroni to stay strong and faithful despite being alone.Nathan and Gabe Petersen discuss Moroni 7-9 and share their insights into these chapters.Come visit us at allenlisted.com where you can contact us and we would love to hear your questions and comments!A full script from this show with scriptures, notes, and quotes can be found here. Thanks for joining us as we put on the armor of God!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/user?u=28840502)
Welcome to the Book of Moroni! It has been over four hundred years since the appearance of the Savior to the Nephites. The Nephite people have all been destroyed and Moroni is alone to record a few words for us and to benefit the Lamanites. The Lamanites put to death every Nephite who will not deny the Christ and Moroni boldly proclaims that he will not deny the Christ.Jesus gave the Nephite disciples power to confer the gift of the Holy Ghost and teaches them how to ordain others to the priesthood.Moroni records the sacrament prayers, discusses the baptismal covenant, and teaches about the power and guidance of the Holy Ghost.Nathan Siebach and Mike Kopp discuss Moroni 1-6 and share their insights into these chapters.Come visit us at allenlisted.com where you can contact us and we would love to hear your questions and comments!A full script from this show with scriptures, notes, and quotes can be found here. Thanks for joining us as we put on the armor of God!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/user?u=28840502)

He continues the abridgement of the Jaredite plates and shares some of the many prophecies of the prophet Ether yet is forbidden to write them all.Ether records the wars of the Jaredite people as he dwells in the cavity of a rock. Coriantumr defends his throne many times over as he defeats Shared, Gilead, and Lib.The brother of Lib, Shiz, sweeps the land destroying many cities and forcing the people to join him or the army of Coriantumr. Welcome to the Jaredite era!Hundreds of years are covered in these chapters as we follow the reign of the righteous and wicked Jaredite kings. We begin as the brother of Jared, his family and friends embark on their journey across the ocean in the barges they prepared. The Lord drives them forth with the winds and waves and keeps them protected during their travel. When the Jaredites arrive to the promised land they are humbled and praise the Lord. The brother of Jared grows old and asks his people what they want him to do before he passes away and the people request a king. The brother of Jared is hesitant to establish a king but ultimately does so.Though there are times of peace and prosperity, the Jaredite history is plagued with years of wars, wickedness, intrigue and secret combinations as the throne is usurped by one power-seeker after another.Prophets come forth and prophecy the complete destruction of the people unless they repent. The prophet Ether is born in captivity.Nathan Sieabach and Matt Hall discuss Ether 6-11 and share their insights into these chapters.Come visit us at allenlisted.com where you can contact us and we would love to hear your questions and comments!A full script from this show with scriptures, notes, and quotes can be found here. Thanks for joining us as we put on the armor of God!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/user?u=28840502)
Moroni has witnessed the entire Nephite destruction and the death of his father. He now abridges the writings of Ether so that we may have them. The Lord confounds the language of the people at the Tower of Babel but Jared asks his brother to pray that their families and friends will not be confounded. They are directed to leave the land and follow the Lord to a promised land and make them a great nation. The Lord directs them to build barges to cross the ocean and asks the brother of Jared how he proposes to light them. The brother of Jared sees the finger of the Lord touch 16 stones and light them and then Jesus reveals himself to him.The Lord prepares interpreters for the brother of Jared and Moroni is commanded to seal up his writings.Moroni prophesies that when the Book of Mormon comes forth there will be three witnesses of the plates upon which it is written.Nathan and Jacob Siebach discuss Ether 1-5 and share their insights into these chapters.Visit us at allenlisted.com for notes and quotes from the show. We’re at the end of the Nephite civilization. The prophet Mormon records his final words in Mormon 7 in 385 A.D. Many years later, his son, Moroni, finishes his father’s record after years of being alone. Moroni fought with the Nephites as they were completely destroyed in battle by the Lamanites and now wanders alone with the plates. He encourages all to search the scriptures and the prophecies of Isaiah. He tells us that the Book of Mormon will come forth by the power of God in a day of wickedness and apostasy.Moroni proclaims that Heavenly Father is a God of miracles and gives revelation, signs, and wonders to those who are faithful.Nathan and Kat Johnston discuss Mormon 7-9 and share their insights into these chapters.Come visit us at allenlisted.com where you can contact us and we would love to hear your questions and comments!A full script from this show with scriptures, notes, and quotes can be found here. Thanks for joining us as we put on the armor of God!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/user?u=28840502)
We’re at the end of the Nephite civilization as we know it. 63 years are covered in these chapters - AD 322-385.Ammaron instructs 10 year old Mormon concerning the sacred records.War commences between the Nephites and the Lamanites and the Three Nephites are taken away. Mormon, at just 16 years old, leads the Nephite armies against the Lamanites and blood and carnage sweep the land. The Nephite day of grace is passed.Mormon obtains the plates of Nephi as instructed by Ammaron and cries repentance unto the Nephites and they gain a great victory then glory in their own strength.Mormon refuses to lead them, and his prayers for them are without faith. The wars continue for many decades and greater wickedness prevails than ever before in all Israel.Women and children are sacrificed to idols as the Lamanites begin to sweep the Nephites before them. Mormon once again agrees to lead the Nephite armies and the Nephites gather to the land of Cumorah for the final battles.Mormon hides the sacred records in the hill Cumorah before the final battle. As the Nephites and Lamanites clash in mortal combat, hundreds of thousands on both sides are slain with the sword. The Lamanites are victorious, and the Nephite nation is completely destroyed. Samuel the Lamanite has come to Zarahemla to preach to the Nephites. After many days, he is rejected by the people and cast out. The Lord commands him to return and say to the people whatever words enter into his heart. After being forbidden entry into the city, Samuel climbs upon the wall to address the people. He identifies the wickedness among the Nephites-their love of riches, pride, malice and persecutions. He calls them to repent and prophesies their destruction if they do not return to the Lord. Samuel prophesies of the Savior’s birth with many signs including a new star in the sky and a day, a night and a day without darkness. Nephi returns to Zarahemla from his mission to the lands northward after being rejected by the people. He prays upon his tower in the garden and laments for the wickedness of the people. A crowd gathers around Nephi, he condemns their evil ways and the corruption in the government and prophecies that the chief judge has been murdered by his brother; both of whom are members of the Gadianton robbers. The people find the chief judge murdered and arrest Nephi. By prophecy he reveals the chief judge’s brother as the murderer and is ultimately set free. The Lord gives Nephi the sealing power and he asks that the war amongst the people and Gadianton robbers be replaced with a famine. Lehi and Nephi covert thousands of Nephites and then go to the land of Nephi to preach to the Lamanites. They are imprisoned for many days, encircled by fire, and 300 of their captors witness this miracle and hear the voice of God. As a result, thousands of Lamanites are converted. The Lamanites become more righteous, eradicate the Gadianton Robbers from their lands and begin to preach to the Nephites. We'll discuss how pride separates us from the Spirit and strength of the Lord. Alma the Younger is counseling and teaching his son Corianton who has committed some serious transgressions. When someone we love has made a serious mistake, it can be hard to know how to respond. Part of what makes Alma 39–42 so valuable is that it reveals how Alma —a disciple of Christ who once had his own grievous sins to repent of —handled such a situation. Alma’s son Corianton had committed sexual sin, and Alma, as he often did, trusted the power of true doctrine to encourage repentance (see Alma 4:19; 31:5).In these chapters, we observe Alma’s boldness in condemning sin and his tenderness and love for Corianton. And ultimately, we sense Alma’s confidence that the Savior “shall come to take away [sins and] declare glad tidings of salvation” to those who repent. The fact that Corianton eventually returned to the work of the ministry can give us hope for forgiveness and redemption when we are “trouble[d]” about our own sins or the sins of someone we love.Nathan Siebach is joined by his mother Holly, and brother, Caleb, as they discuss Alma 39-42 and share their insights into these chapters.Come visit us at allenlisted.com. King Noah has led his people into wickedness by dismissing the priests chosen by his father and appointing his own wicked ones. Abinadi comes forth crying repentance and urging the people to turn towards the Lord. When he is arrested and brought before the king, he stands boldly before King Noah and gives us some incredible insight on justice and mercy, why Christ is often referred to as the father and the Son, and is a beautiful example of declaring the truth even when you may feel all alone.Abinadi stands as a type of Christ and his efforts ripple through the entirety of the Book of Mormon as his one and only convert, Alma, and his descendants keep the records.
