No samozřejmě!

Prophets have warned about the "mask of tolerance," yet Latter-day Saints and all of Christianity seem to be sliding down the muddy, slippery slope from Charity to Tolerance. To accomplish this, such a movement requires a change in the meaning of words and language, a change in the Nature of God, and a deconstruction of the Plan of Salvation. And that's what's happening. Our Mothers Knew It with Maria EckersleyA Creative Study of Come, Follow MeBook of Mormon [ALMA 17-22] Insights“They Were Steadfast and Immovable”July 1 – July 7 2024WEEK 27: SUMMARY=================Lesson Summary:This week we head deep into Lamanite territory as we follow the Sons of Mosiah on the first leg of their 14 year mission. Ammon will head to the Land of Ishmael and change the heart of King Lamoni, his wife, and many others. We'll see how men like Ammon and women like Abish work together to live the gospel in a way that draws hearts to Jesus Christ. We'll also study the rockier missionary road of Aaron and others who try to teach Nehor-like hearts. Ultimately, the Spirit does a mighty work through efforts of these missionaries and the tide starts to turn for the Lamanites.Questions to Consider:Alma 17:14 & 21:7-11 | Can Elder Maxwell's warning about doctrines “going wild” apply to the phrase “wild, hardened, and ferocious”. Is there a progression between those three things? How does distorting doctrine begin that slippery slope?Alma 18:1-3 | If you compare this witness to the testimony of the man born blind, what similarities do you see? How does Lamoni's response differ from the Pharisees?Alma 19:6 | Do you think this light is visible to Ammon or he just senses it from the Spirit? If it is visible, why can't others see it? What scriptures help you understand this kind of spiritual ultraviolet light?CHAPTERS=========00:00:13 INSIGHTS INTRODUCTION00:04:58 INSIGHTS CHAPTER SUMMARY00:11:19 SPARK 1: THE STRIPLING SONS OF MOSIAH00:21:23 SPARK 2: A TALE OF TWO WIVES00:32:48 SPARK 3: THE POWER OF ALL00:43:40 QUESTIONS00:49:19 WRAP UPLINKS=====WEB: https://www.gather.meckmom.comINSTAGRAM: Instagram @meckmomlifePODCAST: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST DISCLAIMER=================================This podcast represents my own thoughts and opinions. Nehor used priestcraft to teach the people they didn't need to repent. He taught lies and the people paid him to teach what sounded easy, or pleasing to them. Gideon used the word of God to withstand Nehor's teachings. Nehor was so angry he killed Gideon. Nehor was taken before the chief judge and suffered an “ignomenous” (shameful) death because of the law of the land.
Does the Lord take sides in a war? As the brewing battles that come into play throughout the Book of Alma begin to form, John shares what it means to go forth in the “strength of the Lord”. He also talks about what we can learn from Alma , who stepped down to preach to those who are a part of the Church and Nehor, who tried to destroy the faith of those who believed in Christ.
Gideon may not have fled with Alma and the 450 believers, when they heard the Wicked King Noah was coming for them…but he was not a follower of the King. He did all he could to help the people. When he was old, Nehor an anti-Christ, was teaching lies about God to the people. Gideon was able to speak the words of God and defend the church. Nehor was so angry he hit Gideon and killed him. Just like Abinadi, Gideon gave his life defending the church. Gideon was a great man who the scriptures say, did much good among the people.
Nehor teaches false doctrine and is executed. This is a reading of Alma Chapter 1. Here is a link to the text: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/bofm/alma/1?lang=eng
Nehor the Anti-Christ taught the people all sorts of half truths, and he was effective because it is so much easier to believe a half truth than a bold faced lie. This is the same strategy that satan uses in our day. He flatters and spreads half truths trying to lull us into carnal security.

From Come Follow Me: "Some might see King Mosiah's proposal to replace kings with elected judges as merely wise political reform. But to the Nephites, especially those who lived under wicked King Noah, this change had spiritual significance too. They had seen how an unrighteous king had influenced his people, and they were “exceedingly anxious” to be free from such influence. This change would allow them to be responsible for their own righteousness and “answer for [their] own sins” (Mosiah 29:38). Of course, the end of the reign of kings did not mean the end of problems in Nephite society. Cunning people like Nehor and Amlici promoted false ideas, nonbelievers persecuted the Saints, and many members of the Church became prideful and fell away. Yet “the humble followers of God” remained “steadfast and immovable” despite what happened around them (Alma 4:15; 1:25)."Support the Show:www.patreon.com/SaintsintheSouth(The thoughts, ideas, and beliefs we express on this channel do not officially represent The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Nevnáša to do spoločnosti ani pokoj, ani nádej,” hovorí herec Alexander Bárta, ktorý stvárnil jednu z hlavných postáv filmu Vojna policajtov. Nehor used priestcraft to teach the people they didn't need to repent. He taught lies and the people paid him to teach what sounded easy, or pleasing to them. Gideon used the word of God to withstand Nehor's teachings. Nehor was so angry he killed Gideon. Nehor was taken before the chief judge and suffered an "ignomenous" (shameful) death because of the law of the land.
Gideon may not have fled with Alma and the 450 believers, when they heard the Wicked King Noah was coming for them...but he was not a follower of the King. He did all he could to help the people. He was captain of the guard under King Limhi and was inspired with the plan to escape the Lamanites. He became a teacher in the church in Zarahemla.
Alma 12:1-19For the people of Ammonihah, to be of the Order of Nehor and to not believe in the resurrection, it supported their belief that they had no need to repent. They were abiding by a philosophy that fully supported the "Eat, Drink, and Be Merry for tomorrow we die" perspective. Their belief system enabled the adversary to lay his traps of lies and deceit dragging them further away from the ways of God.When Zeezrom discovered that God knew all of his thoughts and that Alma and Amulek spoke of a resurrection with a judgment, he began to listen. In this episode, we discuss how our thoughts, words, and works enable us either to receive more of the mysteries of God or to lose them. We learn how closely they are related to one another along with the relationships we have with ourselves, others, and God. To lie to man is to lie to God. That is what Zeezrom learned and the magnitude of that truth caused him to tremble. For coaching services, email me at carrie@sisterscriptorians.com. On this episode, it's the first year of the reign of the judges and the Lord's people experience some testing of their new democratic and faith-supported society. Topics we discuss include: acknowledging the laws of the land, priestcraft, legality, the pride cycle, and much more! Recorded 07/18/2021.

Alma 5 This podcast begins Alma's two year mission, going from one Nephite city to another, preaching repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. He begins in the City of Zarahemla where he addresses the members of thhttps://sisterscriptorians.com/?page_id=6017e church, calling them to remember the deliverance of their fathers. Why would that be the perfect place to start for these members who have struggled with pride and inequality? Why would that be needful for these Nephites who have been affected by the false teachings of Nehor? Also, I hope you will accept the invitation I extend to be a part of my Confidently Creating Training. Alma 2-3 The introduction of priestcraft into the Nephite society - a society that had just received their liberty, would ignite a drive for riches and power. Many would continue on in the belief system Nehor professed and another cunning man would rise up to impose these beliefs upon the people. We learn about Amilici and his push to be made king over the people, whether they desired that or not. We also see that rebellion against God and relinquishing our liberty opens to door to the ailments of bondage. Nephites will spend many years trying to close that door.
Alma 1 Before king Mosiah died, he had organized his people to receive their liberty and enjoy the blessings of self-government. However, within the first year of the reign of judges, a strong man named Nehor desired to chip away at the equality that had been established. Learn about the philosophies of Nehor, the man to first introduce priestcraft into the Nephites' society and discover the last ramifications it had. Nehor prioritized the things of this world above the things of the next. But Alma knew what was most important. He was willing to give up a paid position as the highest political power in the land in order to preach the word of God.

The people of Ammonihah were of the order of Nehor, so it can be useful to consider Alma's teachings to them, especially in Alma 12-13, as a response to the five main teachings of Nehor summarized in Alma 1:3-4. In this light, it becomes clear why Alma focused on the plan of redemption and the true order of the priesthood. Read at bit.ly/knowhy566

King Mosiah establishes a system of judges before he and Alma pass away. Alma the younger is the Chief Judge and High Priest. He has to combat pride and priestcraft among his people first with Nehor and then with the would-be king, Amlici. War with the Lamanites and Alicites helps to humble the people who repent and then prosperity makes them proud.

Join us today as we conclude the experience of Nehor in Alma 1. We consider the ignominious death that is spoken of and also reflect on the impact of Nehor's teachings. Neal L Andersen: Unlike some Nephites who ‘withdrew themselves’ from the church, others did ‘stand fast.’ How do you remain ‘steadfast and immovable’ during a trial of faith? You immerse yourself in the very things that helped build your core of faith: you exercise faith in Christ, you pray, you ponder the scriptures, you repent, you keep the commandments, and you serve others. When faced with a trial of faith—whatever you do, you don’t step away from the Church! Distancing yourself from the kingdom of God during a trial of faith is like leaving the safety of a secure storm cellar just as the tornado comes into view.

Today we continue our study of the Come Follow Me materials, today focusing on the account of Nehor. We reflect on the further parallels with the pre-mortal existence and consider how we can apply the principles of this experience in our lives. L Tom Perry: Nehor’s words appealed to many of the people; they were easy words because they required neither obedience nor sacrifice. As we face many decisions in life, the easy and popular messages of the world will seem appealing. But when these worldly messages contradict gospel teachings and the still, small voice of the Spirit, we can be 100 percent confident they are wrong. Still, it will take great courage to choose the right.

Join us today as we continue our study of the new reign of the judges and the actions of Amlici. We consider how the new government actually engages the Nephites more in their political interests and we reflect on the parallels found to our pre-mortal existence. Daniel H Ludlow: Soon after the establishment of a system of elected judges among the Nephites, several revolts take place against this type of government. The first of these revolts is headed by Amlici, who, in addition to being an avowed kingman, is also a follower of the order of Nehor and thus advocates priestcraft. Although Amlici is not successful in his desire to obtain the kingship, he precipitates a civil war that results in the deaths of over 19,000 people.

Nehor the Anti-Christ taught the people all sorts of half truths, and he was effective because it is so much easier to believe a half truth than a bold faced lie! This is the same strategy that satan uses in our day. He flatters and spreads half truths trying to lull us into carnal security.
This week in our video and podcast we are going to see the beginning of the reign of the judges. We are also going to be introduced to two anti-Christ’s, Nehor and Amlici. Alma decides to give up being the chief judge and goes to preach to the people because of all the wickedness.
Join us as we discuss the transition from Kings to Judges. King Mosiah prepares to turn the kingdom over to one of his Sons but they all decline. Mosiah is inspired to institute a government of judges by the voice of the people. Alma the elder and King Mosiah die. We point out the many correlations and similarities to the U.S. government we see today. The stability of the reign of judges is put to the test immediately when Nehor slays Gideon. Alma the younger is placed as the chief judge and high priest of the church and immediately has to defend the church's beliefs and the rights of the people in battle. Amlici attempts to win over the voice of the people but when rejected, he rebels and stirs the people up unto anger. Alma the younger is fed up with the continual dissensions of the church and the Lamanite attempts to put his people in bondage. He battles and pursues any and all enemies. Dissenters mark themselves to be distinguished among the Lamanites. Alma sees success and baptizing many converts.
Jay and Jon talk about the Reign of the Judges, Nehor, Amlici and more.
This week on the Third Hour Podcast, King Mosiah proposes replacing patrilineal primogeniture — better known as "kingship" — with a system of judges, Nehor and Amlici promote some much worse ideas, and we talk about misplaced priorities, how both ancient and modern people are trapped in paradigms, and how to talk about the Book of Mormon's curse of skin color in today's setting.
This week Fili and Daniel are joined by Carly Farley (and her new little daughter!) to discuss Mosiah 29 - Alma 4. In this lesson we discuss how to make a positive influence on your community with the examples of Mosiah and Alma, and how to recognize and false doctrine and how to fortify ourselves and others against being deceived, learning from the actions of Nehor and Amlici.
Mosiah 29 - Alma 4: Are the 2 stories in Alma chapter 1 connected in some way? Can we learn anything from Nehor's short story and life as we see it? These principles can and should change our lives and make us better latter day saints.for questions or comment please email us at : Comefollowmelesson@gmail.com
King Mosiah implements a system of judges to rule his people after his passing, and explains why this system will better secure their liberty. However, as we begin the Book of Alma right away Nephite society is confronted with a number of challenges, first from Nehor, an antichrist who taught that all would be saved, and Amlici, who sought to be king and take away the people’s liberty. By calling upon God, under Alma’s leadership the Nephites are successful in fighting off attacks from those that followed Amlici and the Lamanites. The church of God is also challenged by both persecution and worldly success. In the end, Alma steps down from his seat as the chief judge to focus on his role as high priest of the church. This week we talk about the political philosophies of King Mosiah, how we can make our communities better by being kind, sneaky Nehor and his incorrect doctrine, and how cool I think it is that we have a lay ministry. V dalším díle zasedli za natáčecí pultík Kateřina Bláhová, Luu Ly a Honza Klat. Tématem byly platy v IT.

Happy New Year's Mymos! In this one Nephi v2.0 gets on his prayer tower, which sounds an awful lot like one of those evil Nehor towers, or maybe he's a Muslim, who knows. He then lives up to his namesake by telling everyone how evil they are and then prophecies about the new Chief Judge getting murdered, or did he plot the murder himself? What a conspiracy! “Drink” Count – 51 8 and a half beers!
Awesome chat between David Michael and Mymo Prophet Matthew Timion. We cover everything from how Mormons justify wealth, whether or not Prophets actually believe any of this, the deeper meaning of the Nehor teachings, how either of us are arguably more moral than god, and a whole lot more.
