The Irish quartet is one of the most exciting bands to emerge over the past few years and It Won't Always Be Like This lives up to their thrilling potential. Singer and guitarist Eli Hewson, bassist Robert Keating, guitarist Josh Jenkinson and drummer Ryan McMahon have made a record that captures their evolution from exciting upstarts to refined songsmiths. It takes in a dazzling array of sonic textures, where huge, hooky choruses perfectly meld with intricate, dynamic instrumentation. Kyle Worde chats with Richard Melville Hall, known professionally as Moby, an American musician, songwriter, singer, producer, and animal rights activist. Not only do they touch on the new record, REPRISE itself, but even more so on the emotional journey & 'time portal' of music. “Reprise” is an opportunity for Moby to revisit the musical highlights of his life's work in a completely new way. Together with Hungary's Budapest Art Orchestra, he has re-envisioned some of his most recognizable rave classics and anthems. Some of the new versions are sparser, slower and more vulnerable, while others exploit the bombastic potential an orchestra can offer. Three decades into his career, “Reprise” is less of a Greatest Hits record and more of a chance to reflect on the way in which art can adapt over time to different settings and contexts. The conversation continues with Season 3. Welcome to #AfterHoursAfrica S3. E2. ft Aidin Caye A brand new South African documentary, The State of the Arts – The Forgotten Industry, released to coincide with World Music Day on 21 June 2021, is a compelling snapshot of the struggles faced by some of the country's entertainment and live-performing artists during the Covid-19 pandemic and the still-ongoing lockdown restrictions. The State of the Arts Director, Adrien Conradie, aka Aidin Caye – DJ and Producer, says he was inspired to undertake the project to showcase the difficulties faced by his colleagues and friends who are reliant on live performances for the majority of their income. “At no point in the last 15 months have nightclubs legally been allowed to operate as they are seen to be high risk for the spread of Covid-19, and as much as the lockdown restrictions have eased as the time has gone by, the ability for our industry to operate has constantly been restricted, with very little support from the government.” A special episode of After Hours Africa Enjoy x

A singer. A cook. An entrepreneur. And most importantly somebody who aspires to be a good human being. His professional career in music started in 2011 when him and his band, Mi Casa released their hit single that went onto win Record of the Year, These Streets. Since then, year after year Mi Casa has maintained relevancy and dominated charts with ridiculous ease. Him and his band have won several awards from around the world and sold multiple platinum records. Mi Casa has traveled to over 30 African countries, toured Europe countless times, and even performed at the second inauguration of President Barack Obama in Washington DC. It was in the midst of all of this that J started to develop a passion for cooking as a mere hobby from the comfort of his home. In 2014, the singer innocently posted a picture of a meal he had cooked at home using the hashtag #SomethingsCooking, that was when he unintentionally launched his successful career in food. From a hashtag to award TV shows, a 3 times best seller cookbook, to a restaurant as well as cooking alongside world food greats such as Marco Pierre-White, Jan, David Higgs, and many more. The musician/foodie has recently launched Something's Cooking TV, a youtube platform, so that other food enthusiasts and creatives can have a platform to share their talents with the world. He has consistently spread the message of humility, hard work, and positivity. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
