In just 10 short episodes, Kyle Worde has managed to amass over 130,000 plays within After Hours Season 1. The conversation continues with Season 2. Welcome to #AfterHoursAfrica S2. E1. ft Black Motion Black Motion is a musical brotherhood pioneered by the maverick Robert “Murdah” Mohosana and his spirit brother in life and music Damanola Thabo “Smol” Mabogwane. They are both from Soshanguve in Pretoria, South Africa, which is the precise location from where their love and interest in music was nurtured as far back as 1999. They would often meet in a shack after school and listen to music in their homemade studio. They recall watching television shows like Jam Alley, Studio Mix, Selimathunzi and YoTV and wishing they could be there. Unknown to them, those very desires would project and propel them straight to a world of authentic musical connection. Pitney and Amelia and flora and fauna. Amelia likes nature, as long as it’s not too natural. Pitney’s Easter lily has been resurrected from the dead, in fulfillment of the scriptures. Amelia wants people to stop giving her orchids. Pitney wants all sunlight to be banished from his home. This episode’s YOTV segment actually features Pitney. He saw a coochie once, and it scarred him for life. Amelia provided him with visual aids to help him help her imagine just what he saw. Trust us, you will love the story of “the throbbing thumb.” And ladies, you look fine. It’s LOVELY. Stop obsessing. You don’t need a lip tuck. Even Amelia didn’t remember the origin of Pitney’s obsession with “dips.” But you may never forget it. Nor will you forget the weird references to The Barbarian Princess, a favorite romance novel that may be revisited in the future! Promo: I Shake My Head (Want to swap show promos? Email us!) CliffCentral.com — We all believe that knowledge is power, but is education not the most important aspect of all? Being educated, intellectual, and ‘street-smart’ proves its advantages when Dene Botha talks to model, ambassador, lecturer and YoTV presenter and Generations Legacy star, Candice Modiselle... as well as Law student, Brand Ambassador, educator and model, Lihle Nkosi - two inspiring, talented, beautiful and educated young ladies who are living proof that education and knowledge are paramount to the growth of this country.
Can you beat the so-called 'curse' of the child performer? Maryam Maruf brings together two women who grew up on camera - the American star of the films Matilda and Mrs Doubtfire, and a South African youth TV presenter. At six years old Mara Wilson was playing Robin Williams's daughter in Mrs Doubtfire, then she bagged the leading role in the film version of Roald Dahl's Matilda. For a few years she was the cutest little girl in Hollywood. Then as she hit puberty and did not become classically 'pretty', she discovered that the parts simply dried up. Mara chose not to re-enter the limelight as an adult, and is a writer and storyteller in New York. She's written a memoir called 'Where Am I Now?' Mandisa Nakana Taylor shot to fame in South Africa aged 10, as one of a multi-racial cast of young presenters on the kids' show YOTV. For six years children raced home after school and watched her grow up on their televisions. Mandisa says it was great fun, and there were a lot of first kisses on set, but they were also expected to maintain an adult work ethic. Now a mother and student in the UK, she still appears on screen, this time on her own YouTube channel. (Photo: (L) Mandisa Nakana Taylor. Credit: Vanity Studios. (R) Mara Wilson. Credit: Ari Scott)
