Still Dead

Let’s go to work. On the final episode of Still Dead, we follow Angel and team through the last battles of Power Play and Not Fade Away (S5.21-22). 

What is it this time? Upervamps? Demon gods? Devil robots? We follow Illyria through time and dimensions and then follow Angel and Spike through much ridiculousness in Italy in Time Bomb and The Girl in Question (S5. 19-20).

We want to keep Spike as our pet. Kelly and Lani wonder what makes reality real and why Eve didn't have a backup plan better than "handsome man saves me" as they talk about "Underneath" and "Origin." (S5.17-18)

"There’s a hole in the world. Feels like we ought to have known." It's time for heartbreak of the deepest order as we say goodbye to Fred and say hello to Illyria in "A Hole in the World" and "Shells" (S5.15-16).

Let’s take out some puppets! We're still not sure why we fight, but we know that Angel makes the best muppet as we forget about Why We Fight (S5.13) and delight in Smile Time (S5.14).

So were we, once upon a time. Kelly and Lani talk about the nature of good, evil and shirts as they take on "Damage" and "You're Welcome" (S5.11-12).

It's not like we have a soul. We have to try a lot harder! Kelly and Lani go against their essential natures as they try to be good with "Harm's Way" and "Soul Purpose" in Angel Season 5.

If we'd known this was going to be a seminar, we’d have worn our name tags.  Cyborgs attack and the fabric of reality is torn but Dark Wesley is better than ever and Lindsey is back... so, yay!!! (S5.7-8, Lineage and Destiny)

We're busy. We're brooding. Angel Season Five made a great entrance, but it has some giffable, skippable Skippers, including Life of the Party and The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco (S5.5-6).

Zip it and let me do my sweet funky. It's all werewolves and basement hell as Lani and Kelly take a bite out of "Unleashed" and "Hellbound" (S5.3-4).

You turned evil a lot faster than we thought you would. Hello, Season Five! It's time to dive into the game changer new world of Wolfram & Hart, and welcome Harmony and Spike to Team Angel in Conviction and Just Rewards (S5.1-2)

Flames wouldn't be eternal if they actually consumed anything. Lilah returns from hell to reset the Angel game and get it back on track after a rough season, and Kelly and Lani are HERE FOR IT, and for Lilah, as they discuss Peace Out and Home (S4.21-22).

Just drop the cliched serial killer crap and stake us already. Fred's amazing, Lorne's snarky, and Connor and Jasmine are awful but we get Dark Wesley and Research Wesley as the team goes underground and Angel journeys to another dimension to find the Devourer's true name.

It’s evil. Remember the rain of fire? Permanent midnight? Strap in and hold on tight as face the plot-hole explain-a-thon that answers every Season 4 question with “Because Jasmine” (S4, 17-18).

We're dust in the wind. Candle in the wind. There will be a general wind theme. Faith, Willow, and Gwen bring some light to the disaster of season 4 as we dive into Orpheus and Players (S4.15-16).

Show us the weapons. It’s time to stake all that is bad with Angelus, Cordelia, Connor, and the Beast while loving all that is good with Wesley, Lilah, and Faith in Salvage and Release (S4.13-14).

Why is he picking on us? We’re the bad guys! Joshua Unruh guests on Still Dead to deal with Angelus in two Watcher episodes that we wish could have been skippers (Soulless and Calvary, S4, 11-12). 

We're not brooding. We're researching. We're back! Dark times ahead as the Beast takes out the sun in LA and Angel loses his soul... again. (S4, 9-10, Long Day's Journey & Awakening)

We believe a day of reckoning has arrived. On today's Still Dead, we face harbingers of doom and rumble with horror and the Big Bad Beast Rock with Horns in Apocalypse, Nowish and Habeas Corpses (S4.7-8). Stay tuned for a spoiler discussion at the end of the show!

Oh, good. Symbols on the floor. That always ends well. Kelly celebrates academic passion and Lani derides the faux-sex fall as they take on Supersymmetry (S4.05) and Spin the Bottle (S4.06).

If we thought you’d ever trust us, we would have never played you like that. Lani and Kelly slouch to Vegas and back to deal with stolen destinies and stolen memories in Angel, season 4, eps 3 & 4, The House Always Wins & Slouching Toward Bethlehem. 

"We don’t do errands unless they’re evil errands." On today's Still Dead, we're delighted by Dark Wesley, Lilah, and Gwen. It's time for a boat ride as Wesley rescues Angel and leaves Justine behind, and Gwen shows us how a professional pulls off a heist (S4, E1-2, "Deep Down" &"Ground State").

We weren't thinking about you when you were here. Kelly and Lani finish up with Season 3 as they swoon over Lilah and Wesley and hate on Holtz in "Benediction" and "Tomorrow" (S3.21-22).

Play your little games. We've got to go save our immortal enemy. Dark Wesley and Wicked Lilah steal the show as the Hyperion is infested by thaumogenesis followed by the return of Connor as Still Dead dives in to "The Price" and "A New World" (S3.19-20). 

“Angel, you’re messing with primordial powers of darkness here." Buckle up for a dark and twisty Watcher followed by a skippable Skipper on today's #StillDead as we find a wounded Wesley in the hospital, a corporeal Sahjhan on the streets of LA, and a soul-sold Gunn in a demon casino.

We’re awfully Chipper today. He's here at last! There's throat-punching and throat-slitting as we say hello to the one and only Dark Wesley and jump into heartbreak (but not the hell portal) with Loyalty and Sleep Tight (S3.15-16).

"We’ve been possessed by the spirits of old lovers before, and it never ends well." It's the romance rhombus of doom as Angel goes to the ballet, reunites with Groo, visits a demon brothel, and tackles a deadly tree monster with excellent wifi. (S3, 13-14, Waiting in the Wings and Couplet). 

"That’s bad, bad wallpaper." On today's Still Dead, we celebrate Cordelia's birthday-turned-demonized-day, stake bad demon photoshop and nonsensical zombies, and learn an important life lesson... family is more important than money. The more you know, y'all. (S3, 11-12, Birthday and Provider)

That’s the tragic beauty of a cosmic convergence. It's a wild ride to an impossible delivery as we chase Darla, Holtz, and every vampire cult on the planet through Angel Season 3, episodes 9 and 10, "Lullaby" and "Dad".

"Has someone been putting vodka in your blood?" Today on Still Dead, we tackle two Watcher episodes that are low on the PH Scale and ponder the question that has baffled all the vampire cults, Wolfram & Hart, and Team Angel - How the hell is Darla pregnant?!?

Now we need to learn how to fight. In this episode of Still Dead, we grapple with Fred's trauma and then descend into true darkness when Gavin, Wesley, and Gunn are infected with misogynistic evil. Trigger warning for disturbing content as we discuss the truth of dark stories with Angel Season 3 Episodes 5 and 6, Fredless and Billy. 

Don’t tell us you never thought about it... Kelly and Lani delight in Gunn's story, Angel's body-swapping adventure, making out with Lilah, all things Wesley, love triangle-rhombus, and leather pants as Still Dead tackles Season 3, episodes 3 and 4, This Old Gang of Mine and Carpe Noctem.

Where are our hurling axes?!? We welcome Fred to the Hyperion and swoon over Angry Angel, Demon Monks, Dark(ish) Wesley, and Evil Lilah as Still Dead kicks off Season 3 with episodes 1 and 2, Heartthrob and That Vision Thing.

"We chopped off the evil lawyer-beast’s hand, and he screamed and he screamed… and then we left." In today's Still Dead, we say goodbye to Season 2 and Hello to Dark Wesley as Team Angel - plus Fred - return from Pylea in episodes 21-22, "Through the Looking Glass" and "There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb".

Today on Still Dead, we grapple with narrative structure, story themes, an overabundance of damsel-ing, and a whole new world as the team portal-jumps to Pylea in Angel Season 2, episodes 19 and 20, Belonging and Over the Rainbow.

Stop it, evil hand, stop it! Today on Still Dead, Lani swoons over Harmony, great dialogue, and a fantastically fun fight scene, and Kelly swoons over Lindsey as we dive into two delightful episodes of Angel, Season 2 - Disharmony and Dead End. 

"If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do." Today on Still Dead, we lose our souls in moments of perfect happiness and perfect despair and fall in love with the perfect mission statement in Angel, Season 2, episodes 15-16, Reprise and Epiphany.

Lani's knitting for Angel, Angel's brooding for Darla, Darla's running from her soul, Kelly's writing a thesis, and everyone's going crazy over another plot device in a box as we take on Angel Season 2, episodes 7 and 8, "Darla" and "The Shroud of Rahmon". 

We don’t want him dead. We want him dark. Kelly and Lani gush about Darla and Drusilla, disagree about Wesley, and rant about virginity, feminine power, and Lindsey’s hair as they take on episodes 5 and 6 of Angel Season 2, "Dear Boy" and "Guise Will Be Guise".

We know you're not planning to kill us. But you're willing to. And that's good. Kelly and Lani do battle with well-meant but poorly portrayed pseudo-feminist storylines, navigate through a burden of misdirects, and gleefully welcome the return of guest actor Sean Gunn as they take on "She" and "I've Got You Under My Skin," episodes 13 and 14 from "Angel" Season 1.
