The Stub Me Down podcast is an incredibly enjoyable and engaging show hosted by two individuals who clearly have a deep passion for discussing live shows and the music scene. The banter and interplay between the hosts is fantastic, making for a podcast that is not only informative but also highly entertaining. Whether you're on your daily commute or taking a leisurely walk, this podcast is perfect for those moments when you miss the camaraderie of being at concerts with friends.
One of the best aspects of The Stub Me Down podcast is the hosts' evident knowledge and love for the subject matter. They are not only well-informed about the bands and shows they discuss, but they also have a genuine enthusiasm that shines through in every episode. Their passion is infectious, making you feel like you're part of the conversation and sparking your interest in exploring new music and attending live shows.
The worst aspect of this podcast, if any, would be that it may primarily appeal to fans of jam band music or those familiar with the live music scene. While the hosts do try to make their content accessible to all listeners, there might be some episodes or discussions that could feel exclusionary to those who are not already immersed in this particular genre or subculture. However, even for those who may not consider themselves "jam band guys," The Stub Me Down podcast still offers a lot of value and enjoyable content.
In conclusion, The Stub Me Down podcast is a gem for music enthusiasts of all kinds. With its great banter, knowledgeable hosts, and genuine love for live shows, it's hard not to get caught up in their excitement. Whether you're a die-hard fan of jam bands or simply enjoy listening to good conversations about music, this podcast is definitely worth checking out. So sit back, relax, and let these hosts take you on a journey through their love of live performances - you won't be disappointed!
It's all subjective, right? Music, tv, or any sort of consumable media (including podcasts). Skinny and JW welcome television writer (and notorious hook up for the elderly) Nate Federman to Episode 6 Season 6 of Stub Me Down Podcast. Nate shares some stories from his time in the writer's room on The Office and has the fellas rolling on the floor as he describes his hysterical cameo on the show. Nate's stub down takes the trio to Las Vegas for a show "that had a M Night Shyamalan level story twist in it and was easily the most emotional” he's ever been at a show. Part one of two! Thanks for your time, Nate!
Season 6 of Stub Me Down Podcast trucks along! Episode 5 features a visit from the Great Wendt- Wook Plus's own Kevin Hogan. Kev joins Skinny and JW to talk podcasting, interviewing musicians, and pulls a stub from a diverse and interesting (according to JW about a 420 times) Grateful Dead show in 1990. Setlist choices, the role and demise of Brent Mydland, and an extended Dark Star highlight the conversation as SMD finally gets the last of the Wooks to stub us down. Thanks for listening!
Stub Me Down welcomes in actor, comedian, and improv artist Chris Witaske to the show! We talk all things “The Bear” related and even pick some Phish music that works for the show. Thanks for listening!

Don also shares his experiences working with other artists including Maggie Rose and Lyle Lovett. We also get into the Beacon Jams and Don's role in those monumental shows. Thanks so much to Don Hart for his time!
Jw and Skinny welcome T strong from Wook Plus to talk about a great Grateful Dead show from 1995! T talks about television, editing, and pulls the back the curtain on Mr. T and Bill Walton. Hilarious conversation ensues with plenty of statistical analysis and fun! Enjoy! Thanks for listening!
Stub Me Down welcomes in Skinny's old high school buddy Tim Sullivan for Epsiode 8 of Season 5, and boy did they get loose. Tim shares his experiences as a teenage Grateful Dead fan, his extensive knowledge of country music (jw is still skeptical), and pulls a stub from a 1989 Grateful Dead show in Pittsburgh that not everyone got into. Laughs were had, stats were discussed, and another piece of the Skinny puzzle falls into place! Thanks, Tim!

Well this is cool! Skinny and JW welcome killer bassist Karina Rykman to Stub Me Down for the 3rd episode of Season 5. Before she heads back out on the road, Karina graciously dropped in to chat about her debut album Joyride, performing at Peach Festival and some of her early music projects. She shares some wisdom she picked up from Trey Anastasio, who helped Karina produce Joyride and contributed guitar to several tracks. Karina's unbounded exuberance shines through as she shares what she learned playing with Marco Benevento and how she has brought those lessons forward with her current bandmates Adam November (guitar) and Chris Corsico (drums). Karina's humility and gratitude are readily apparent as she considers her professional progress and looks forward to a busy 2024. She even shares a warning about the dangers of post-show baths! In the penultimate episode of season 3 of Stub Me Down, JW pulls a recent show during which he experienced some of the best versions of tunes he has ever seen. Skinny was there too (for most of this one) and experienced similar thoughts with several songs. While it was not quite Trey Band, it was also not quite Phish. Perhaps a third plane of existence was created on this night, and perhaps Dezron Douglas was the key to unlocking this new dimension.
Skinny pulls the stub for Episode 8 of Stub Me Down Season 3, but JW throws him for a loop with his reaction to this show from 2013. Skinny's affinity for this one is not met by dubs, who takes an unusually contrarian (as much as possible) view of the setlist. Still, the fellas find consensus on a few tunes as they feature their own "Odd Couple" tease.

We are everywhere!

After spending time with some new phriends of Stub Me Down, Season Two concludes with a very special visit from an old friend, brother, and tour buddy to relive a boys trip to Watkins Glen for a festival that actually took place! With three sets on tap, it's hard to imagine anyone not enjoying the offerings of the day... And can someone please explain "f*ckerpants" to these guys? Thanks so much for checking out Stub Me Down this season! YOU make this podcast go!

Skinny stubs down JW in Episode 7 of Stub Me Down season 2, reliving a personally significant show from 2016. A great show on paper, the setlist was packed with heavy hitters, a couple bust outs, some rarities, but not much jamming. Of course, this show was more about the company we keep than the music played that night!

Kari and Craig stub the fellas down on a show everyone knows by date and share their Phishstory, inside the venue and out. The first of 2 parts, the View from The Lot Part One covers the first set of this magical show while Skinny tries to get to the essence of the lot!
Skinny pulls the stub for Episode 5 of Season 2 of Stub Me Down, keying a conversation on a Baker's Dozen show from 2017. While the first set didn't exactly leave a favorable taste in his mouth, Skinny delights in second set nuggets while JW goes big with his feelings about one particular tune and its place in 3.0 lore. And Episode 5 is a contest episode, so be sure to listen, enter, and win!
