The review discusses the Watchtower Study Article, "Continue to Satisfy Your 'Spiritual Need'", focusing on whether Scripture mandates the JW organization to meet spiritual needs, while drawing parallels between the Organization's direction and inspired revelation. The review also promotes the JW Review Podcast and offers support options for MJF Apologetics. … More Does Watchtower REALLY Satisfy Your Spiritual Needs? Watchtower Study Review March 2-8, 2026
Send me a DM here (it doesn't let me respond), OR email me: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.comToday I'm honored to introduce you to: Brilliant and renowned American stand-up comedian, Emmy Award and Peabody Award Winner, podcast host and co-host, content creator, writer, wearer and finder of hilarious costumes, former GATE kid, loving husband to a dolphin, whistleblower to whistleblowers, survivor advocate, and someone I'm honored to call a friend: Kurt Metzger A comedian who turned personal rebellion into a beacon of unfiltered truth, Kurt's early life was anything but ordinary. Born in Ohio, he was raised in the Jehovah's Witness faith where he was ordained as a minister at age 17. Diving headfirst into stand-up, Kurt honed his craft in the gritty clubs of Philadelphia and New York, where his sharp wit and no-holds-barred style quickly set him apart in the industry. Kurt doesn't just write; he performs - showcasing his mastery of observational comedy laced with dark humor, tackling everything from politics to human folly. In addition to doing stand-up he also hosts his own podcast on YouTube and co-hosts with Jimmy Dore on The Jimmy Dore Show. A couple years ago, I crossed paths with Kurt on social media and learned that Kurt wasn't merely a fan of survivor testimonies - he was devouring them, using every raw testimony to finally piece together the puzzle of his own upbringing and defect from the Jehovah's Witness cult that had shaped (and scarred) his childhood. Those same accounts also helped paint a bigger picture of why the JW's may have the largest settlement in history against them for covering up sexual abuse crimes. On his most recent appearance on Joe Rogan, Kurt even arrived dressed as the infamous MK ULTRA scumbag John C. Lilly - the dolphin-obsessed "scientist" survivors like J.R. Sweet have named as a programmer and abuser, talked about MONARCH and mind control on the show, brought and showed JR Sweet's incredible memoir, “Mormon Monarch” on the podcast, and left a signed copy of JR's book for Rogan after the podcast. What I love about Kurt is that he chooses advocacy over approval, values justice more than likes, and truth more than comfort. He delivers the hardest realities wrapped in his signature blend: razor-sharp comedy, biting sarcasm, gut-punch honesty - and laughter that disarms just enough for the truth to sink deep, refusing to fade when the jokes end. Today, Kurt has become a force of nature, a towering voice for survivors. He befriends them, amplifies their testimonies, shares their work, and fights publicly in ways few have the guts to match. In an era where even seasoned journalists and hosts hesitate to utter "MK ULTRA" or "crimes against humanity," Kurt sprinted toward the fire the instant he understood its scale - and that it's still burning.CONNECT WITH KURP: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@kurtmetzgercomedyIG: https://www.instagram.com/kurtmetzgercomedy/X: https://x.com/kurtmetzgerCONNECT WITH EMMA:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@imaginationpodcastofficialRumble: https://rumble.com/c/TheImaginationPodcastEMAIL: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.com OR standbysurvivors@protonmail.comMy Substack: https://emmakatherine.substack.com/BUY ME A COFFEE: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/theimaginationVENMO: @emmaSupport the show

Episode 2.86In this episode, Michael and Zach apply the same standard used in the Mormonism discussion to another major movement: Jehovah's Witnesses. The question is not about sincerity or moral seriousness. It is about theology. Does Jehovah's Witness doctrine align with historic, creedal Christianity—or does it depart from it at a foundational level? We examine official Watchtower and JW.org sources on authority, the Trinity, the nature of the Holy Spirit, and the identity of Jesus Christ. Jehovah's Witnesses explicitly reject Nicene Trinitarianism, deny the full deity of Christ, identify Jesus with Michael the Archangel, and describe the Holy Spirit as an impersonal force. Using their own New World Translation, we walk through key biblical texts—including Isaiah 42–48, John 1, John 17, Philippians 2, and Hebrews 1—to evaluate whether these claims cohere with Scripture. We also address distinctive teachings on salvation, the 144,000, the new birth, organizational exclusivity, and the nature of the soul. The cumulative question becomes unavoidable: if the identity of God, the person of Christ, and the structure of salvation are redefined, does the movement remain within Christianity—or does it constitute a separate religion using Christian vocabulary? The episode concludes by clarifying that the issue is not tone or intention, but doctrinal definition. By classical Christian standards, the differences are structural, not secondary.Find our videocast here: https://youtu.be/qb61zxXnEpwMerch here: https://take-2-podcast.printify.me/Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/reakt-music/deep-stoneLicense code: 2QZOZ2YHZ5UTE7C8Find more Take 2 Theology content at http://www.take2theology.com

In what is more of a rarity these days, Skinny and JW settled into the OG format of Stub Me Down Podcast S7 E5, with JW pulling a stub from his first Phish show in 1998. An incredible setlist (that he knew nothing about in the moment) set the stage for an all-consuming and lifetime obsession. Skinny has heard these stories before, but supposedly did some research on a couple of tunes anyway! Perhaps this episode will bode well for a Phish return to Columbia, Maryland this summer. We can eat crabs at Merriweather Post! Thanks for listening!

We look at this new and interesting book by Jim Baggott. See more about Discordance The Troubled History of the Hubble Constant here. Discordance The Troubled History of the Hubble Constant, reviewed We are living in interesting times for studies about our universe. It looks like it is still expanding, fair enough if the big bang did it's thing, and exploded out from an incredibly small amount of space and matter. But, as the data increasingly suggests, the rate of the expansion is not only continuing, but also increasing the rate at which it does so. Baggott takes us on an interesting, well informed and clearly explained journey around the important developments and discoveries, especially over the last century or so. At some points the maths and the physics naturally left us behind, but, overall this is an accessible and comprehensible book for the wider reader. Time and time again it seems like our best and deepest thinkers have to conceive theoretical ideas and then often wait decades, often beyond their own lifetimes, before humanity has built sufficient tools to then test them. Often then, such was the brilliance of Einstein and others, their concepts turned out to be right. The clear example of the concept of black holes, long, long before it was ever possible to definitively proof their existence. This has repeatedly been the process, which the Hubble Telescope, Cern and the Higgs boson, and now with the James Watt Telescope, have all helped us to then conclusively prove or disprove concepts. All of this of course a massive riposte to the recent insane cuts in scientific research, and evidence based concepts. It is an exciting time new massive arrays coming online, and the far great capacity of JW and more to scan more of the sky, in higher resolution. Faster methodologies are also emerging to analyse what is being captured too. All of which means that new discoveries are being made near daily too. Baggot helps to communicate an interesting overview of these developments, and captures the enthusiasm that is out there in terms of sharing of ideas and robustly testing previously held ideas. Naturally dark matter and dark energy can still seem slightly questionable, as they are, by their nature, currently impossible, or at least extremely difficult to measure, observe or capture. At the same time, something has to be there to account for the fact that we can see, and measure so little of what must be around us. It does show we still have a long way to go in terms of understanding how the universe works and what is happening around us. Books like this help to communicate why this is important, interesting and well worth studying and investment. Check it out. More about the book Discordance The troubled history of the Hubble constant: a story littered with crises of confidence, astonishing discoveries, and extraordinary personalities, which still continues today. From the award-winning science-writer and author of Quantum Drama. In 1927 Georges Lemaître argued that our universe is expanding, a conclusion rendered more startling by the astronomical data that backed it up, presented two years later by Edwin Hubble. The speed of this expansion is governed by Hubble's constant, and Discordance tells its troubled history. This unpredictable and fascinating story begins with the first tentative steps to measure the distances to nearby stars and galaxies. It traces the extraordinary interplay between cosmological theory and astronomical observation which has given us the standard Big Bang theory. It was not all plain sailing, and the narrative takes us through the discovery of dark matter, the Hubble Wars of the 1970s, the invention of cosmic inflation, and other crucial scientific moments. Further satellite missions were expected to add to the clarity of our measurements. But from about 2009 onward, the results began to diverge and complicate our understanding of this expansion. This is the Hubble tension and perhaps even a cr...

In this episode, Ezzi details the intense familial and organizational pressure that led to her baptism at age 15, despite her not feeling ready or understanding the doctrine. A significant portion of the conversation addresses the abuse and dysfunctional family dynamics she endured, including physical abuse from her mother and the coercive environment within the organization that affected both her mother and herself. We closely examine the traumatic process of being disfellowshipped (shunned) and the detrimental effects this had on Ezzi's relationships and mental health, highlighting the narcissistic and controlling nature often present in JW culture and relationships. Ultimately, Ezzi discusses her deconstruction journey and the increased freedom, happiness, and healthy relationships she has found after leaving the faith. Climbing Jamaica’s Dunn’s River Falls is an exhilarating experience. Water cascades over the smooth rocks of the Falls on its way to the Caribbean. It’s a challenge as climbers battle the water’s flow to make their way to the top. For a teenager named JW, it’s a near impossibility. He’s sight-impaired, with only a pinhole view of the world. But JW was determined to climb, and his friend Josiah was willing to team up with Him. Josiah was JW’s eyes—telling him which slippery rocks to avoid and where to put his hands and feet. And JW was Josiah’s heart—showing him what courage looks like. So much of life is like that daunting climb: we shouldn’t walk alone. King Solomon points us to that truth. “Two people are better than one, for they can help each other succeed” (Ecclesiastes 4:9 nlt). Both Josiah and JW were attempting something special—and they could do it only in tandem. The passage continues: “If either [person] falls down, one can help the other up” (v. 10). But neither fell and neither failed. Together, they reached their goals. God’s design for people, presented clearly by Solomon and demonstrated vividly by these two teenagers, is that we work together. The tasks God calls us to do are best done with others—each using what skills and emotions God has given to bring an outcome that points to Him.

Derek Kolstad, the creator of "John Wick", is now the showrunner of animated action series "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Deathwatch". The video game adaptation premieres this Tuesday Oct. 14 on Netflix. In this episode of Driven By, I sit down with JW Gibson, a Memphian whose story runs from the Dixie Homes housing project to entrepreneur. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he built businesses from the ground up—including a medical supply company launched in his mother's garage and a printing company that now produces Tennessee's lottery tickets. This conversation is about how JW built from scratch, took risks, and kept moving forward.Episode HighlightsHousing Project: Growing up in a Memphis housing project, and how that experience shaped how he sees opportunity and challenge.Lessons from the Navy: What he learned about leadership, discipline, and staying steady under pressure.Entrepreneur at Work: From cash-flow struggles to building companies today.Politics and Government: His thoughts on education and workforce development.A City in Transition: His take on Beale Street, downtown's future, and projects like the Rock & Soul Museum move. The Campaign: His thoughts on City Mayor election campaign and what he was planning before dropping out of County Mayor race.
It's Tuesday, September 30th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson India's new anti-conversion law leads to 9 harassment cases against Christians India's Northwestern state of Rajasthan issued their Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Bill in the state assembly on September 9th. And now, International Christian Concern reports at least nine documented incidents of harassment and assault on Christians over the last three weeks. Atheist Bill Maher objects to Nigerian genocide against Christians Bill Maher, the well-known comedian and secular humanist commentator, took to his HBO show last Friday to complain about the lack of coverage about Christian persecution in Nigeria. MAHER: “If you don't know what's going on in Nigeria, you are in a bubble. And again, I'm not a Christian, but they are systematically killing the Christians in Nigeria. They've killed over 100,000 since 2009 they've burned 18,000 churches. These are Islamists, Boko Haram. “This is so much more of a genocide attempt than what is going on in Gaza. They are literally attempting to wipe out the Christian population of an entire country. Where are the kids protesting this?” (applause) GUEST: “No one will talk about it. So, thank you.” MAHER: “Absolutely!” Chinese Communists sentence Christian attorney 4 years in prison And, in China, the Communists sentenced a Christian attorney and defender of human rights to four years in prison for the charge of “picking quarrels and provoking trouble,” and “seriously damaging her country's image.” Zhang Zhan has already served four years for the crime of reporting from Wuhan on the COVID-19 pandemic back in February of 2020. Mormon president allowed sexually perverse to remain in good standing The President of the Mormon faith, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, went to meet his Maker, over the weekend. Russell Nelson was 101 years old. Under his watch, the Mormons changed their policies on homosexuality, allowing those living in sexually-perverted relationships and faux-marriages to remain members in good standing. The group also allowed for the Melchizedek blessing to be placed upon children adopted by homosexuals living together. Dr. Nelson is also credited with ridding them of the “Mormon” moniker, while building the internet URL: “churchofjesuschrist.org". Membership in Mormonism expanded from 4.5 million to 17.5 million members since Dr. Nelson joined the top-tier leadership in 1984. That's a 3-fold increase in 40 years. That's about the same growth rate as the Jehovah Witnesses, with the JW's about half the size of the Mormons. In the words of Jesus: “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore, by their fruits you will know them.” (Matthew 7:19) Ken Ham and Al Mohler honor Voddie Baucham's legacy Ken Ham, from Answers in Genesis, took to social media to say, he was “greatly saddened to hear the news that pastor and theologian Voddie Baucham had gone to be with the Lord.” Ken called Voddie “a powerful voice for truth. a pioneer in challenging men to stand for Christ in leading their families. … No other voice had the impact his did to encourage the current generation to home educate their children—that they would know Christ and make him known. “Voddie called men to lead in family worship daily in their homes. He was a pioneer in bringing young people back into the churches to sit together as a family and witness their dads worship the Lord.” Al Mohler, the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, also offered a tribute to Voddie Baucham on The Briefing. Listen. MOHLER: “Voddie Baucham died having done what the Lord called him to do. We're thankful for the power of his ministry and the clarity of his convictions. And it is a reminder to us that we must work, as Jesus said to His disciples, while it is day. Night is coming when no man can work. We'll pray for Voddie Baucham's widow and the entire family.” Plus, Masters Seminary shared a memorial on Facebook stating that “Voddie was a courageous shepherd, a bold defender of the true Gospel, and a beloved friend.” Lord: “Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” And, just to remind us all, that this was the year that Phil Robertson, Pastor John MacArthur, Dr. James Dobson, Voddie Baucham, and Charlie Kirk died. Let us remember Moses's words in Psalm 90:12 -- “Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” Artificial Intelligence the one bright spot in the economy In economic news today, the second quarter Gross Domestic Product in the United States registered a 3.8% improvement. But that improvement, thus far this year, is attributed to Artificial Intelligence investment and tariffs. All other parts of the economy were down including personal consumption, business investment, housing, government and inventories. While the NASDAQ Index is up 5.7% for the month of September, investors are moving to gold and silver as a safe haven now. Gold is up 10%, silver is up 15%, and Bitcoin is up 2%. Majority of top movies are R-rated Six out of the top seven movies this weekend are R-rated movies — mostly in the horror genre. And five out of six of last weekend's top box office favorites were also R-rated movies. R-rated movies netted four times the G-rated movie totals in 2007. This year, that ratio has increased to 100 times the G-rated movie totals. Neanderthals were fully human And finally, evolutionists are surprised to have found relations between the Neanderthals and the Chinese ancient human group called the Denisovans. A recent report cites interbreeding, according to the genome sequence. Although at one time considered a link in human evolution, now scientists realize that the Neanderthals were fully human. For example, according to the Institute for Creation Research, they “made tools to make other complex tools, buried their dead, had controlled use of fire, practiced religious ceremonies, used complex syntax in their spoken grammar, and played musical instruments.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, September 30th, in the year of our Lord 2025. What if I told you your front desk could be replaced—by someone halfway around the world, who does it better, faster, and never calls in sick? That's not just a bold claim. It's the new normal for hundreds of practices working with JW Oliver and his global team at ZimWorx and SupportDDS. In this episode, JW returns to the podcast to share the real story behind building a team of 1,600+ remote professionals serving over 3,000 dental offices—while giving 51% of company profits to global ministries. But this isn't just a tech or outsourcing episode. We dig into the ethical side of virtual assistants, how most U.S. doctors are underestimating what patients will accept, and why your labor challenges aren't going away unless you embrace smarter systems. And yes, we geek out about luxury watches and Rolex being a nonprofit (you'll love that part).QUOTES“There's always a cheaper way—but that doesn't mean it's a better way. The question is: how are your virtual assistants really being treated?”— JW Oliver“If I had to build my practice from scratch today, it'd be under 1,000 square feet—with almost everything outsourced but direct patient care.” — Dr. Glenn KriegerKey TakeawaysIntro (00:00)JW's unexpected path from marriage retreat to founding SupportDDS (01:26)How he grew from 9 employees to 1,600+ and 3,000 dental offices served (02:10)The #1 task you should be outsourcing today (03:42)The virtual front desk: how iPads and remote teams are changing ortho (05:19)Why patients are more open than you think (06:17)Hidden costs of U.S. labor vs. remote talent (07:44)The danger of missed calls and burnout at the front desk (09:35)The “ethical trap” in outsourcing: how some VAs only earn $2/hour (15:46)Why ZimWorx invests in coffee bars, counseling, and team wellness (18:49)Rolex is a nonprofit?! Plus why horology is more than just status (24:56)The craftsmanship and legacy of high-end timepieces (28:45)Side hustles, giving back, and why JW is always chasing passion (34:49)Additional ResourcesI've said it before and I'll say it again—if your front desk is dropping 20% of your new patient calls, you're literally leaving money on the table. JW and his team don't just fill roles. They specialize in making your practice run smoother, leaner, and more profitably.
