Miley gives us a handful of highs, but plenty of lows that sound phoned in. Genre: Pop / Dance Pop. Rating: 5/10. Favorites: You, Wonder Woman, Flowers, Jaded, River. Least favorite: Muddy Feet.
slowthai's most personal and experimental work to date. Genre: Alternative Hip Hop / Post-Punk Rock. Rating: 8/10. Favorites: Yum, Sooner, Feel Good, Never Again, F**k It Puppet, UGLY, Falling, Tourniquet. Least favorite: HAPPY.
Another top tier inclusion in what is shaping out to be a robust discography for Kali Uchis.
The conventional sonic direction may have gone over better if the concept was strong enough to sink my teeth into.
Don Toliver sounds comfortable - mostly due to him not really getting out of his comfort zone.
Caroline Polachek delivers an excellent experimental pop record, showing off her impressive ability to weave in different sonic styles while keeping the aesthetic of the album intact.
Topically things get stale, but the diverse performances and the passionate songwriting are both impressive enough to keep you hooked.
The next installment reviewing Rolling Stone's top 500 classic albums - the self titled debut album from Suicide. An intense, dark, and impressive project that proved to be influential in the development of several genres.
Paramore takes things into a post-punk direction while holding true to their pop punk origins. Throw in Hayley WIlliams' engaging vocals plus the band's topical songwriting, and we get something special.
RAYE shows the maturity of a seasoned artist on her debut album.
Although I find many of the topics Sam Smith tackles on Gloria admirable - the execution is not it for me.
