With movies like “Once,” “Begin Again” and “Sing Street,” Irish filmmaker John Carney has found a way to make movie musicals relevant for contemporary audiences. His latest effort is "Power Ballad." Kansas City's Paul Rudd stars alongside Nick Jonas in the story of a struggling wedding singer who bonds with a pop star. When the former boy band member steals a song from his friend, things get dicey. Rudd is as good as he's been in years, and Jonas is solid in a role tailor made for him. “Power Ballad” is a rousing crowd-pleaser that's filled with catchy music. If you are familiar with the phrase, "By the power of Grayskull," then the clunky action fantasy "Masters of the Universe" might be nostalgic for you...but that's really all it's got going for it. In this update of the 80s adventure cartoons based on the line of Mattel toys, Nicholas Galitzine plays an annoyingly uncertain He-Man, Jered Leto provides the petulant voice of Skeletor and Idris Elba is wasted as a washed-up warrior. The movie's tongue-in-cheek approach never works. “Masters of the Universe” lacks the power. The Wayans Brothers are back with yet another ultra raunchy horror movie parody. Despite its title, "Scary Movie" is actually “Scary Movie 6,” the latest installment in the franchise that started 26 years ago. It reunites many of the movies' familiar cast members including Marlon and Shawn Wayans and a few dozen other Wayans, Regina Hall and Anna Faris. Sadly, the Wayans have officially run out of ideas for “Scary Movie” and try to fill the gap with repetitive and aggressively offensive material. Now that's scary.
We're kicking off the weekend with an absolutely packed episode of Breakfast All Day. Here's what we've got for you: BACKROOMS. There's so much buzz and expectation about this steadily creepy horror movie from 20-year-old YouTuber Kane Parsons. It's definitely effective in creating a feeling of unease that lingers long afterward, and it's a wonder of production design. Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as the owner of a furniture store who discovers a sprawl of surreal office spaces. Renate Reinsve is his therapist who tries to save him. Check back for our LIVE spoiler chat on Tuesday at Noon Pacific at our YouTube channel. In theaters. POWER BALLAD. Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas co-star in the latest from writer-director John Carney ("Once," "Sing Street," "Begin Again"). Rudd is a wedding singer who never made it big; Jonas is a pop star who wants to prove he's a serious artist. A night of drinking and collaborating leads to a smash hit, but the credit is in question. We don't agree on this one. In theaters in limited release before opening nationwide June 5. THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU LIVE SPOILER CHAT. Here we go into everything we didn't want to ruin in our non-spoiler review of the latest in the "Star Wars" saga. It's getting wildly mixed reviews -- have you seen it? Listen and let us know your thoughts. MOVIE NEWS LIVE! As we barrel towards July 4th, Trump wants the celebration of our country's 250th anniversary to be not only about him but also about America as a white republic. But this diverse nation needs to speak up and speak back loudly to drown out that MAGA messaging. In his new book, Glaude lays out the inherent contradiction of America's milestone anniversaries, starting with the one in 1876. Plus, black Mississippians are aiming to top Obama-era turnout numbers, Trump has a pathetic need to be worshipped, and the MMA fight at the White House perfectly encapsulates the decline of seriousness in this country. Laumeier Sculpture Park kicks off its half-century anniversary with “Begin Again: 50 Years and Counting.” The exhibition reflects on five decades of artistic milestones, rare archival materials and ephemeral works that have defined the park's legacy. Curated by Dana Turkovic, it offers a look into the intersection of art, nature and public engagement that has made Laumeier a cultural gem in St. Louis. We talk with Turkovic and Juan William Chávez, an artist, cultural activist and 2026 Visiting Artist in Residence at the park, to learn more about the exhibition's highlights.

Host: Cindy Allen Published: April 3, 2026 Length: ~15 minutes Presented by: Global Training Center Summary In this week's episode of Simply Trade: Cindy's Version, Cindy Allen breaks down a major shift in trade operations as CBP moves closer to launching the CAPE system for IEEPA duty refunds—while at the same time, new Section 232 actions signal that trade enforcement is far from slowing down. CBP has indicated it is on track for an April 20 rollout of CAPE, with key components nearing completion. However, Phase 1 will only cover certain entries, leaving many importers navigating critical decisions around protests and timing. At the same time, new developments in pharmaceutical tariffs and steel and aluminum revisions suggest that, despite recent legal challenges, trade enforcement is evolving—not retreating. Inspired by Taylor Swift's Begin Again, Cindy walks through why this moment feels less like closure—and more like the start of a new phase in global trade compliance. This Week in Trade • CBP signals April 20 target for CAPE rollout tied to IEEPA refunds • Phase 1 expected to cover ~63% of entries, excluding many already liquidated cases • Judge highlights importers' right to file protests, raising strategic considerations • Strait of Hormuz disruptions continue to create supply chain uncertainty • No movement on key legislation including First Sale and Foreign Importer of Record rules IEEPA Refunds & CAPE: Where Things Stand CBP continues to make progress toward launching CAPE (Consolidated Administration and Processing of Entries): • Claim portal (~85% complete) • Mass processing of entries (~60% complete) • Review and liquidation (~80% complete) • Refund processing (~75% complete) Phase 1 will: • Focus on unliquidated entries and those within voluntary reliquidation windows • Exclude fully liquidated entries, protests, drawback, and certain AD/CVD cases ⏱️ Timeline: • Target launch: ~April 20 • Estimated processing: up to 45 days post-launch Section 232: We're “Beginning Again” This week brought significant new developments under Section 232: Pharmaceutical Tariffs • 100% duty on name-brand pharmaceuticals • Generics excluded • Implementation expected within 180 days Key complexity: • Importers must now identify brand vs. generic at entry • Multiple exemptions and reduced rates tied to reshoring and trade agreements Steel & Aluminum Updates • 50% duty remains for core steel/aluminum products • 25% duty on derivative products (full value) • New de minimis exemption for products with

Episode 168In this re-sharing of a Season 10 episode, I explore why deconstruction is a necessary part of healing from complex trauma — especially for people of faith.I define deconstruction as questioning assumptions we've never questioned before and opening up to new possibilities. I share three zones where I've experienced this:1. Self-Identity — Differentiating between the survival "Role Self" I built to be accepted and my true "Core Self" that had been buried.2. Familial & Cultural Values — Recognising how traditions and values handed down through my family facilitated harm and kept me silent.3. Faith — Wrestling with the growing gap between who God revealed Himself to be in my healing journey and the God of my religious upbringing.I also discuss why healing requires more than religious or doctrinal belief — it demands a deep, existential trust that we are held by a love greater than ourselves.I close with reflection questions to help you identify where deconstruction may be showing up in your own journey. You don't need answers — just acknowledging the questions is powerful.Watch this recording on YouTube.CHAPTER MARKERS0:00 Introduction4:08 Defining Deconstruction5:53 Defining Deconstruction10:11 3 Zones of Deconstruction12:07 1. Episode 167In this episode, I'm exploring deconstruction through the lens of differentiation and individuation—two psychological concepts that have profoundly shaped my faith journey. For years, I related to Catholicism the way I related to my family of origin—with enmeshment, not healthy boundaries. I believed that closeness meant having no division, that love meant disappearing into the other. I carried this into my relationship with God, believing I had to disappear into Him rather than becoming fully myself. In this episode, I talk about:What differentiation and individuation mean in the context of faithHow enmeshment in family systems mirrors enmeshment with the ChurchWhy questioning and discernment are essential to mature faithThe difference between mystical oneness and emotionally healthy individuationLearning to trust my own desires instead of fearing themHow healing from trauma is itself an act of differentiationWatch this recording on YouTube.RESOURCEJames Finley, The Healing Path: A Memoir and an InvitationCHAPTER MARKERS0:00 Why do some lose faith in God and some do not?1:32 The Commenter's Argument3:31 Deconstruction Beyond Intellect8:13 James Finley's Story14:01 Spiritual But Not Religious17:42 When Personal Encounters Make God Real Beyond Doubt21:32 Conflicting Imprints of God in the Nervous System25:49 When Faith Depends on Constructs41:30 Beyond the Visible Church42:30 The Apophatic TraditionSupport the showSUBSCRIBE | FOLLOW | SUPPORTSocial Media:Follow Ann Yeong on Instagram or Facebook.Newsletter:Subscribe to Begin Again for Ann's updates and reflections.Support the Show:Monthly Support (starting at USD$3)One-time DonationLeave a Review:If this podcast has blessed you, please leave a review by clicking here.

In the 1990s, Glenn Jarvis was living in London working for a very powerful American corporation called Enron. He was under a huge amount of stress at work, when his mental health began to spiral downwards. In the late 1990s Australian Glenn Jarvis won a job in London with Enron, a giant American energy and investment corporation. Life was exhilarating and he made lots of friends. But after a time Glenn began to notice some very odd transactions at Enron.Giant amounts of money were flooding in to the company that simply couldn't be accounted for.Glenn took it up with with his bosses, but they didn't want to know.In part because of the questions he was asking, Glenn's reputation at work began to change, and his mental health began to deteriorate. He had a psychotic episode, and spent the next 2 years in and out of mental health units in Australia and the UK.Eventually he found himself back in town of Queanbeyan where he grew up, with no job, no money, and few friends who understood what he'd been through. His family stuck by him, but things were difficult, and he ended up in supported accommodation.Across the road from where he was living was a local Bowling Club. He would go there and buy a single beer most nights, and eventually befriended some of the regulars. With the help of these elderly friends, and meaningful work, Glenn began a slow and painstaking climb back into an entirely different kind of life.

Episode 165Have you ever wondered why some people deconstruct not only their religion but also their entire faith in God, while others deconstruct aspects of organised religion yet retain a relationship with the divine or even with the Christian God?In this episode, I explore the distinction between deconstructing our notions of God and deconstructing the institutional aspects of faith like Christianity or Catholicism. Drawing from personal experience, I discuss how our individual deconstruction journeys unfold differently based on the depth of our personal encounters with God versus what we've been taught through religious tradition. In this episode I discuss• The difference between deconstructing religion vs. deconstructing God• How personal mystical experiences shape our faith journey• How conflicting imprints about God in our nervous systems can create an insecure, “disorganised” or confused attachment with God• Understanding "spiritual but not religious" in the context of deconstruction• The apophatic (mystical) tradition in ChristianityWatch this recording on YouTube.CHAPTER MARKERS0:00 Why do some lose faith in God and some do not?1:32 The Commenter's Argument3:31 Deconstruction Beyond Intellect8:13 James Finley's Story14:01 Spiritual But Not Religious17:42 When Personal Encounters Make God Real Beyond Doubt21:32 Conflicting Imprints of God in the Nervous System25:49 When Faith Depends on Constructs41:30 Beyond the Visible Church42:30 The Apophatic TraditionSupport the showSUBSCRIBE | FOLLOW | SUPPORTSocial Media:Follow Ann Yeong on Instagram or Facebook.Newsletter:Subscribe to Begin Again for Ann's updates and reflections.Support the Show:Monthly Support (starting at USD$3)One-time DonationLeave a Review:If this podcast has blessed you, please leave a review by clicking here.
