Ahh, welcome back, you reactor ghouls — and Happy Spooky Season! The crew is warming up for this year's Halloween special by talking about childhood scary stuff. Next week they're diving into the dark, eerie, likely sticky world of the 1999 Disney Channel Original Movie "Don't Look Under the Bed". It's a tale of boogeymen, teen angst, and the kind of practical effects that make you say, ‘Yes, this was pre-HD.' I, of course, appreciate it — mostly because it's one of the few times the mouse castle guys leaned into a Cronenberg vibe. As usual, the blather comes stocked with spoilers — big ones, lurking just beneath your bed. And there will be profanity, because nothing says ‘Halloween spirit' like shouting imaginative swears at a children's movie. If you need to catch up on past episodes or summon more of our cinematic nonsense, creep over to BSReactor.com — our digital crypt of content. It's got episodes, links, and a contact page that occasionally screams in the night. We've been meaning to check on it. Maybe it's screams of fun; don't judge us. Now then — light your jack-o-lanterns, lock your doors, and check under your bed twice. It's time for ghoulish giggles, childhood trauma, and the haunting realization that the real monsters… might just be the friends you made along the way.

In this heartfelt coaching call, Nina wrestles with two layered questions:1.How can I have an honest, meaningful conversation with the boy my daughter is dating, without overwhelming or intimidating him?2.How do I stay emotionally attuned and supportive to my older daughter who might feel left behind when her younger sister gets engaged first?Together, we explore what it means to assess someone's emotional maturity: not by lecturing or preaching, but by creating relational moments that reveal their capacity for humility, self-awareness, and connection. Nina learns to shift from “explaining what matters” to “asking questions that reveal,” including storytelling prompts that elicit vulnerability, repair orientation, and conflict navigation style. Then we transition to her fear about her older daughter's emotional reaction to the younger sibling's engagement. We unpack the cultural and personal sensitivities involved, and I offer a powerful shift: lead with presence, not performance. Ask before reassuring. Witness before reframing. Allow emotional truth to be spoken without trying to fix it.Listener Takeaways•How to assess emotional maturity in someone without coming off as judgmental or overbearing•Conversation starters that reveal someone's approach to conflict, power struggles, and personal growth•The difference between performing connection and living it•How to support adult children through complex sibling dynamics•Why “fixing” someone's feelings can feel like disapproval, and what to do insteadIf you're looking for a high caliber small group where you can deepen your practice and really live into the principles of compassion, non-violence and relational presence, apply for The Mentorship Circle, which will begin November 2nd. Remember those Driver's Ed videos? Supposed to teach us to drive safe, but really they were just low-budget horror films with cars. Did it work? Nope. We walked out of class, grabbed our keys, and tested the laws of physics on the way home. Driver's Ed: scaring us straight since never.Scare tactics have never worked on teens. They may find the movies interesting (as we did) or the "scary" stories about online interesting...but it never seems to be an effective way to get kids to stop what they are doing. However, giving them tools they can rely on in the moment is proven to be incredibly effective. In this episode Kristi not only takes you down drivers ed memory lane, but also discusses the tools we can teach our kids to help protect them online. This includes using the three no's. An easy, actionable way for kids to set protective boundaries. www.knbcommunications.com
