Jamie and Angela talk about what it looks like to walk in the spirit.
Jamie shares an in-season word for the church in America.
Pastor Jamie Lingerfelt shares some testimony from his life of walking with God. God has a great desire to reach the people in our communities. Are we available to do what He requests of us? Or have we filled our schedules so full that we can not follow Him? Obedience is the proof of true devotion and love.
Spending time with God is the key to living the Christian life. Obedience to His voice is all that is required and needed. Out of that flows everything. The enemy comes at us like a shotgun - he blasts us and then sees what hits us and then concentrates his efforts in that area. We have to guard our hearts. We have to filter what we allow into our lives. The Word of God has to be central in our lives. Everything that happens in our lives should flow out of our alone time with God.
Angela Lingerfelt shares a beautiful message of God's heart and His love for each of us. This was originally preached at a women's conference in Elberton but is not limited to just a female audience or that geographic area. There is so much encouragement here to strengthen your heart and refresh your faith. Take this message to heart as Angela encourages a deeper, more intimate relationship with Jesus.
Dave and Shelby Maxwell join Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt and share about what God has been doing in their lives and in the life of the house church that meets in their home. Prayer is the key to their lives. Jamie and Angela also testify to the power of prayer in their lives, and the call of God to bring prayer back into America. If ever there was a need to develop our relationship with God, it is now. If we desire to see change in the world around us, it has to first start with us.
Rick Badois returns for another show with Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt. They speak from their experience about what it means to be a follower of Christ. Being a disciple requires denying self, taking up our cross, and following Jesus. This means we have to let go of the things of this world. Prayerfully examining our hearts helps us see the things in our hearts that we need to let go of. Knowing that God is a good Father helps us to willingly let go of things that may seem difficult to get rid of. And He is very gracious and kind in helping us to release things to Him that help us please Him more in our walk. That doesn't mean it is easy to let go or change what God is showing us, but there is always freedom afterwards. Be encouraged today to let go of what is holding you back in your relationship with God!
Rick Badois joins Jamie & Angela Lingerfelt to talk about living as sons of God in the context of the story of the Prodigal Son. Why do Christians live with (and only believe for) the provisions of orphans or servants? As a man thinks in his heart, so he is. As believers we can walk outside of sonship and this can be seen when we are jealous of what others have, or when we complain about what we do have. From the overflow of our hearts our mouths speak. If we see in our speech patterns of complaints and jealousy of others, it is very likely that we do not recognize that we are truly children of God. We have to learn who we are in Christ! With our loved ones we are most likely to speak the intimate things of our heart when we are alone with them. This is also true of our Father. We have to take time to sit with Him and hear from Him who He has called us to be. The real fruit of a Christian life is obedience to the Father.
For anyone who is facing hardship or suffering, here is some great encouragement! Pastor Jamie Lingerfelt shares how we can overcome through Christ. Grace begins where ability ends. We desire supernatural grace from God but we don't want to come to the end of ourselves and admit that we can't do it on our own. With Jesus nothing is impossible! God can do it all and He will. All we need is to call on the Name of the Lord.
Merissa White and Brian Singleton join Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt on this week's episode. This show was broadcast live on September 17, but the message is very timely for right now as well. There are principalities and powers over certain areas. There can be heaviness and depression that seem to have full power over us, but Jesus is greater! He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world! God knows how to deliver us from trials, traps, and troubles. Be encouraged in Him today! The anointing of God is to break all the worldly oppression and demonic yolks off of us. Dwell in the secret place of the Most High and be refreshed and cleansed in His presence. Take time to rest in His presence today. You are loved!
Great discipleship teaching from Angela Lingerfelt. She offers valuable insights into prayer and loving well. Prayer is a labor of love that allows us to enter into God's rest. As Christians we should love people and pray for them rather than judge them. Our heart should be that everyone is reconciled to God. Be obedient to God no matter what. Sometimes this will cause people that won't be obedient to dislike you. Walking by the Spirit produces fruit that pleases the Father.
Nathanael Bryce joins hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt on this episode. There is a wealth of information about God's faithfulness and how our actions and character reflect who God is to the world around us. Faithfulness, accountability, and judgment are not popular topics, but if Christians are going to be true representatives of Christ, we need to be mature in these areas. Please be encouraged as you are challenged by the heart of God as expressed through these faithful ministers.
Pastor Nathaniel Flock joins hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt and talks about the process of making his recent worship album. Nathaniel gives some great insight into the importance of waiting on God, and how that results in a greater weight of glory being released. Wrong motives, including selfish ambition, can cause us to get out of step with God. He plants dreams and visions in us, and we can abort those plans and purposes when we fail to wait on Him. We can also pervert those dreams and turn them into fantasies when we slip our own imaginations into them. God will give us a vision piece by piece, desiring to teach us how to walk with Him and trust Him as we wait on Him to fulfill the vision He has for us. God freely gives so much of Himself to us, but if we lose sight of who He is and who we are in Him we can mix the things of this world, such as our own selfish desires, into what He freely gives and then take that and run with it, believing that what we are pursuing is purely from God, when in fact it is tainted. We pray that you are encouraged as you listen. You are loved!
Jay Humphries and Brian Singleton join Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt on this week's podcast. God has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness. But walking in the way that God shows us is not always easy. As a matter of fact the easy way usually leads to destruction. Following the narrow way that God shows us is often very difficult, but it leads to life that is more abundant. Join us as we discuss some of the things we've learned about walking with God.
Jay Humphries and Brian Singleton join hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt on today's episode. God is always calling people to follow Him. Jesus said "Follow me and I will make you to become..." The making process is in the hands of God. Our part is simply to follow Jesus. It is so difficult for us to understand that God would use these simple, broken lives of ours, but He will! He will receive so much glory and honor from our lives if we will just surrender to Him, follow Him, and obey. He is the potter and we are the clay. The forming process includes the furnace, and that is not comfortable, but it is necessary for us to become the vessels that He uses. Fire takes an ordinary piece of clay and transforms it into something that can hold the very presence of God.
Rick Badois joins Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt and shares about his time as a missionary in Africa. Most of his time was with orphans in the slums of Nairobi. Rick learned that truly the only thing that is necessary in this life is Jesus - He IS everything we need. Jamie and Angela have also spent lots of time in mission fields around the world, and with Rick they all share such a beautiful picture of God's love for all people. Being in poor areas of the world reveals more fully that people's lives do not consist of the things they possess, but rather of the One Who possesses them. Satisfaction and contentment is found in the arms of Jesus. It costs us nothing, because Christ already paid the full price. When we allow ourselves to be loved by God through Jesus Christ we learn how to let that love overflow through us so that we can love those around us. Lean in and listen close as these dearly loved sons and daughter share the heart of God.
Pastors Colby Myers and Brian Singleton join co-hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt on this episode of the Voice of Encouragement. Angela shares some moving stories from her experience at a youth camp in Elberton, and what God showed her in her time there. Divisive spirits and a spirit of religion have emerged in an attempt to counter the work and move of the Holy Spirit in Elberton, and these spirits are a greater threat to those who are younger in their walk with Christ. So much of what we ought to do as believers is provide the truth and comfort of Christ to let people know they are not orphans when they are in the kingdom of God. Also discussed are topics of God's loving discipline, and expressing thanks to God even when things are difficult.
Pastors Colby Myers and Brian Singleton join hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt. Change is necessary for growth. If we desire to be closer to God we have to allow things to change. He will place in our hearts a desire to change, but we have to follow Him and allow Him to rearrange things. The Bible says we are changed into His image, from glory to glory. Fear, uncertainty, and avoiding being uncomfortable can prevent us from growing into the people that God desires to make us. Taking a step of faith is taking us towards a new destination while also taking us further away from something else. In some cases our very survival is dependent on walking by faith with Jesus. Those impossible situations are the times we need Jesus the most. Nothing is impossible with Christ, we simply must stay near Him. Like the woman with the issue of blood or Bartimaeus, our opportunity to connect with Jesus may be quickly pass by, so we must be ready to make the step towards Him quickly. Have faith and take the first step!
Pastors Colby Myers and Brian Singleton join hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt. Hebrews 4 talks about how familiar Jesus is with the suffering and struggles that we encounter, because He was tempted in every way as we are. God understands completely and sent Jesus to defeat everything in this world that would stop us, discourage us, or make us hopeless and helpless. God is merciful and ready to help us in our time of need. It can be so hard to call out to God for help, but God is an ever present help in times of trouble. One of the ways the enemy attacks us is by trying to convince us that we are on our own and without a helper. God will never leave us or forsake us, and He will never leave us comfortless. Just call out to Him in your time of need. Sometimes we bring bad consequences on ourselves, and sometimes we suffer for the sake of godliness. There is encouragement and hope for you no matter what situation you may be in.
Jamie Lingerfelt preaching an encouraging word at The Potter's House. Every person has a God given purpose. The times when we least see or sense things happening to bring that purpose about are often when God is doing the greatest work in us and on our behalf. God desires for us to have character, and character is built through times of pressure and trials. But without the character that God develops in us we will fall under the pressures of the promotions that He wants to give us. It is so imperative to wait on the timing of the Lord. We were not created to do the things that God has called us to do by ourselves. We were created to work with Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish the goals He has for our lives. We have to find Him, find who we are in Him, and never stop seeking His presence.
Roy and Deb Killian and Rick Badois return for a second week of ministering on the podcast. Roy and Deb share about their ministry - Eden's Song Ministries, and how God has enabled them to help numerous missionaries have greater impact as they serve people around the world. Love looks like something, and their ministry shows love by providing for the needs of those that serve others. God loves you and has always been in the business of rescuing His children. Take time today to seek after the Father and learn of His great love for you.
On today's show, Roy and Deb Killian of Eden's Song Ministries and Rick Badois who recently returned from missions work in Africa join Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt to share some encouragement from God's heart. Be encouraged in the truth that God never leaves or forsakes you. Wherever you are or whatever you may be enduring, God is always right by your side and is willing to respond to you if you will only call out to Him. God made you uniquely with a specific purpose. If you think your life does not have any worth or any purpose, seek after God and listen for His guidance. He will show you what you were designed to do. And He will be with you as you respond in faith to His calling. Simply trust in Him. He wants to bring healing and wholeness to your life.
A sermon preached by Jamie Lingerfelt. There is a constant battle between darkness and light, but there is a turning point coming to the lives of those who follow Jesus. God's victory is so complete that He is able to make even the worst things of this natural world work for the good of those that love Him and are called according to His purpose. Nothing is impossible for God. We will all face battles, and there are times when the enemy will strike us with a hard blow. But the battle is the Lord's, and He always wins His battles. The truth of the matter is that we can have joy through any storm, any battle, any struggle - if we will seek God and spend time in His presence. Sometimes when it looks like the enemy has won a battle, we ultimately become more than conquerors through Christ. God restores what was lost and then gives us even more or better than we had before. Being Christian doesn't mean that everything will be perfect, but it does mean that everything works for our good.
This week Pastors Colby Myers and Brian Singleton join hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt to share some encouragement from the heart of God. God is a very present help in a time of need. He wants us to look to Him for help. He already knows we need help, but He wants us to recognize our need for Him and then reach out in faith. God likes to be invited into our situations. He will come to us in the most hopeless times, and He hears our earnest cries to Him. Jesus truly knows everything we need and He is able to give us everything we need. Seeking the wisdom of the world is not as valuable or helpful as seeking Christ and letting His wisdom lead us. God qualifies those He calls. He takes the foolish things of this world and uses them to bring great glory to Himself. God is able to restore anyone and everyone, and He is willing! But it is time for us to repent, to turn to Him, and leave the wisdom of this world behind. The correction or the discipline of God is loving and kind and helps us reflect Christ more clearly. His discipline is perfect and draws us nearer to Him.
Pat McWhorter and Brad Brown join hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt and discuss some of the differences believers experience in countries around the world. A Gospel that does not work in every circumstance to every person is false. Believers in third world countries do not have access to all of the things that those in America have - many of the things we think we need are not available to everyone around the world - and as a result those in prospering countries are often spiritually destitute. Everyone has a real need for Jesus, but we have to cultivate a hunger for Him, because if we cultivate hunger for worldly things that appetite will grow and potentially consume us. Jesus wants us to cry out to Him. Brad shares some of his experience of following God into unknown circumstances and being used by God to bring healing to someone in need.
Pat McWhorter and Brad Brown, home from 12 days of mission work in Ghana, join Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt on today's show and share about their recent trip. Some of their mission included sharing the Gospel with people who had never heard it in the bush in Africa. Setting our greatest weakness before God allows Him to move through us in the power of His supernatural grace. His strength is perfected in our weakness. Nothing is impossible with God! When we experience the grace of God to do what we could not do, it reveals how much we were relying on our own strength instead of His. Brad shares about his first time experience as a missionary in Ghana. This episode is full of encouragement for ministers and believers who have the opportunity to minister. Truly all believers are expected to minister in some capacity, and we can not experience the grace of God to minister until we come to the end of ourselves. Be encouraged! You are loved!
Pat McWhorter and Brad Brown join Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt. Pat and Brad talk about how they saw God move in their hearts and in the lives of people in Ghana, where they recently returned from spending 12 days on a mission trip. We have to gain the perspective of God for His people, so that we can love others into His kingdom. Without God many people are miserable, and it's impossible to love others when we are miserable ourselves. Another obstacle for many in America is that we feel entitled to have more material wealth, so we seek things or blessings rather than the One Who blesses. But the truth is it is often through times of lack and suffering that we best understand God. Be encouraged as you hear of God's love for you and others on this episode.
Sometimes believers take Jesus for granted. We say we desire deeper relationships with God, or want to experience His presence more, but often the greatest times of fellowship with God are during times of suffering. We seek after God but we want Him on our terms. We seek the Comforter but avoid discomfort. Without knowing our own weakness we will never truly embrace God's grace and be strong in Him. Without truly being captured and captivated by the beauty of Christ, a person will only go so far. And then when dificulty or discomfort comes we'll turn from Him and turn to our own ability to comfort ourselves. Do we want to follow Jesus even if it costs us everything we have? How much do we really want Jesus? Will you count the cost and follow Him?
God's definition of love, friendship, and faithfulness is not always the same as ours. God demonstrates His love for us by offering us Jesus. To God, love is giving something of great value to the one that you love. Abraham showed his love for God by offering to give Him his only son, who was a promise from God. There has to be evidence in a believer's life showing that he or she truly loves God. When Jesus restored Peter after his three denials, He asked him three times "do you love Me?" and each time Peter was given a command to feed and care for His sheep. Will there be enough evidence from our lives to convict us of being Christians? There is no salvation by works, but there should be outward works that show what has changed internally. On the other hand, are there things I've picked up that I'm not willing to put down? Is there something hindering my relationship with Jesus? The rich young man that came to Jesus said he wanted eternal life, and asked what he must do to get it. Jesus asked for the one thing that was blocking his access, which was his money. In Jesus is everything that pertains to life and godliness. If there is anything between you and Jesus, hear Him tell you "I want that" today, and give it to Him willingly so that you can receive the greater things that He has planned for you.
Faith Lingerfelt, Jamie and Angela's oldest daughter, joins her parents on this week's show to talk about the power of the tongue. The words we speak navigate the course of our lives. Troubles in relationships are often the result of a lack of communication. The confessions of our mouths have so much power over our own lives, and also over the lives of those around us, especially in our homes. The enemy is the accuser, so we have to communicate with each other to make sure the deceptions of the enemy are brought into the light and destroyed. We need to make sure the things we say build others up, and build up the church. There is emotional healing available for those who have been hurt by the words of others. These types of wounds can be the most difficult and most devastating in our lives, but God will heal them. We need to learn what God says about us to help combat the lies of the enemy and the hurtful words spoken about us. Oftentimes the negative things that have been spoken over us set up strongholds and roots of bitterness or unforgiveness that will hinder our relationship with God. These hurts can prevent us from boldly approaching God's throne of grace to receive the forgiveness and healing we need. Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. So as believers we have to take the time to take every thought captive, and cleanse our minds with the Word of God. Be encouraged! You are loved!
Thomas Moon and Pat McWhorter join hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt to offer encouragement to those involved with young people. Engaged in youth ministry for over 25 years, Thomas has been used by God to raise up numerous missionaries, pastors, worship leaders, and true children of God for the Kingdom. Thomas shares his heart for the youth of Elberton and tells about how God has rebirthed the Driven Purpose Youth Ministry. He is passionate about helping young people find their true purpose in Christ. Be encouraged today by looking at God rather than your situation. God is faithful to His Word and He is faithful to you. God loves you and is ready to wrap His arms around you no matter what you've done. If you're thinking about suicide take time and talk to God. Encouragement is here for everyone. Believers ought not be in the business of judging or condemning. Let's learn to love like God loves.
Missionary and author Pat McWhorter joins hosts Jamie and Anglea Lingerfelt on this uplifting broadcast. God is ready to make things work for our good if we will only turn to him. Pat talks about his book "Faith is a Three Legged Stool". Faith is not simple belief. Pat defines faith as belief and trust, but there is not genuine faith if works is not involved. Love is also a component of faith. If there is not love faith cannot work. "Faith works by love". All put together, faith looks like a design, like a molecular structure for example. So faith requires belief, works, and love. When Pat first understood this it revolutionized his life. Love is expressed in good works done through faith. Many Christians (and churches) are stagnant because they do not have outlets of love. Love looks like something -- to a hungry person love is a meal. So to experience a fuller life in Christ, Christians must express the love of Christ to those in need. Listen to the full discussion and be encouraged. You are loved!
Join Pastor Jamie Lingerfelt as he ministers to the men of The Potter's House in Jefferson, GA. Foundational teaching about what it means to be a born again believer. Believers must lose their life to save it. Freedom from every kind of addiction comes when we die to ourselves. Living for ourselves is what leads us to bondage. Jesus offers us everything, but it truly costs us everything. But it is worth it! Every day we must decide to follow Jesus if we will be truly free. A true soldier has died before the battle ever begins. Thank you for listening! Be blessed and encouraged and remember that you are loved!
Eric Lovin of Spirit Led Expeditions joins host Jamie Lingerfelt and guest co-host Brian Singleton to share of his experience in a recent mission trip to Haiti.Pure and undefiled religion is caring for orphans and widows and remaining unblemished by the world. God uses the last, the lowest, and the least to accomplish His greatest achievements. God calls us back to Him, back to our first love. No matter how bad the storm is or has been, God stands at the door and knocks and is ready to give us a fresh encounter with Him. Look for Him and you will find Him. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door shall be opened. What we can't do on our own we can do with God. His invitation is to be a co-laborer with Him. Let Him fill you with His Holy Spirit so that you can be renewed and strengthened to do the great works that He has prepared for you to do. Thank you for joining us on this adventure with God. We pray that you are blessed and encouraged as you listen. You are loved!
Jamie Lingerfelt teaches about walking in the spirit at Firehouse Church's School of Ministry. Jamie shares from his heart and his experience to help believers who feel called to church leadership. There is no substitution for close communion with God found in prayer and Bible study. Being is more important than doing. Believers must be spiritually minded rather than carnally minded, and without being filled by God's Spirit it is impossible. Your soul is in a battle between the influence of the flesh and the influence of the spirit. We must learn to feed our spirit so that our souls and lives can walk in victory over the flesh. Victory and freedom comes when we die to ourselves. The call of God is a call to come and die so that we may live.
Pastor Jonathan Crider joins hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt on this episode, talking about taking back the earth for the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus died to get heaven into us, not just to get us into heaven. The Great Commission runs parallel to the command given in Genesis 1:28, to fill the earth and subdue it. Eph. 3:20 says we have been empowered to do more than we can ask or imagine. This power is not given only to pastors and leaders in the church, but to all believers - all the sons and daughters of God. It is time for Christians to lose our orphan identity and realize who we are in God. Each person's individual personality, gifts, and talents are given as ways only they can express the love of Jesus to the world, ways only they can express the Father's heart. We have to find our identity in Christ and express it through the talents and gifts that God has given us. We have to reach a place where we can rest in who we are in God, and let Him work through us to accomplish His will in this earth. When we come before God saying that we are unworthy we are actually demeaning the price of the blood that Jesus spilled for us (Acts 13:46). We've got to spend time in the secret place with God, the place of intimacy with Jesus, to truly learn our identity in Him. That's where we find true liberty and freedom.
Join Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt and their guest Pastor Jonathan Crider as they discuss being restored into the Kingdom of God. Restoration was part of Jesus' purpose. Part of that restoration is that we would be able to deny ourselves. God hears us and satisfies us, but also causes us to hunger for more of Him. That hunger for Him draws more of His presence into our lives, and helps develop His character in us. Living a sacrificial life is living by faith, and living that lifestyle requires a person to bank on the reality that we store our treasures in heaven. To live is Christ and to die is gain. We have to lose our lives to save them. We have to live our lives from a place of victory, from our identity as citizens of heaven, rather than living like we are moving towards those things. We already have them as God's children. Faith and love are the currency of God's kingdom, and when we walk in those things we will experience the lifestyle of the Kingdom. The ones who sacrifice everything for God and His Gospel are the ones God remembers. Jesus became the Son of man so that we could become the sons and daughters of God. Be blessed and encouraged! You are loved!
Join hosts Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt as they welcome guest Pastors Colby Myers and Brian Singleton. God moves mountains, God is worthy of our best. Pastor Colby Myers gives testimony from Uganda. In this episode the primary focus is on the goodness of God and the faithfulness of God to acomplish His word. He gives dreams and visions to His people and He will accomplish them at the appointed time. Do not grow weary in doing good as you await the appointed time. Habakkuk 2:2-4. What God has spoken He will do. He will shift things out of our way to make way for the purpose He has put in our hearts to come to fruition. It is our responsibility to make preparations and be ready. Keep your eyes on the One Who gives the vision instead of on the vision. Be blessed and encouraged!
On this episode, Jamie and Angela Lingerfelt talk about gainng victory over grief. The Spirit is the first installment of our future bliss. Those who die in Christ are truly more alive and healthier than they have ever been. When we walk by faith and walk in Christ, we walk in the reality that our loved ones who have died are actually very much alive in Christ, and that we are still together with them since Christ lives in us. This doesn't mean that we don't weep or that it is wrong to grieve! Even Jesus wept when Lazarus died, knowing that He would raise him up from the dead. The emotions are natural and it is good to experience them. However, we should not live in torment or misery. Jesus has provided the Comforter for us so that we can move forward after the loss of a loved one. Through Jesus we can have victory over grief because we fully put our trust in the Word of God. We pray that you are blessed, encouraged, and comforted as you listen to this podcast!
