Locked On Penguins - Daily Podcast On The Pittsburgh Penguins
The Pittsburgh Penguins respond! The series now tied at one game apiece and Hunter is back to recap everything about Game 2. He first touches on the opening period and how Pittsburgh had the right "shoot first" mentality as Varlamov got his first start. Bryan Rust opened the scoring or "Big Game Bryan" as Hunter likes to call him, followed by Jeff Carter, who continues to make certain people look foolish. He also touches on the bounce-back from Tristan Jarry as he did what he's done all year after a bad outing. Also: Just how good have the Pens been against Barzal and Eberle? Do the Penguins have the best 4th line in hockey? What's the likeliest scenario to come from these next 2 games? All that, plus much more on today's episode. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Part 1 of a 2 part preview is here as Hunter is joined by Locked On Islanders host Gil Martin in a special crossover. Both hosts discuss numerous topics in this episode, one of them being if Gil is concerned with how the Islanders played down the stretch. He also touches on if he thinks Palmieri and Zajac will turn it around after being a no-show in the regular season, then throws it back to Hunter on what he's worried about for this series. Can Tristan Jarry hold the fort down like he did in the second half of the regular season? Who's the Penguins X-Factor in this series? Also: Just how close was the season series? Hunter goes into the numbers a bit to show that this could've gone either way. What have the Penguins changed with how they play against the Islanders? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Also: Just how little effort does it take for Merie to lounge on the couch and end up in a romantic relationship? Why doesn’t Merie want to come to your wine and painting party? On June 1, 1923, the Phillies made a little history, which is to say, they were made a part of a little history: For the first time in the 20th century, a team (the Giants) scored in every inning of a baseball game, bashing the Phillies 22-8, thanks in part to both the offensive contributions of Jimmy O'Connell, a hot young prospect with a worm in his gut, and Jesse Winters, a Phillies hurler who just stopped caring. Also: Just how in the heck hard was it to get a bowl of warm soup in Philadelphia in 1923? Apparently, harder than you'd think. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Legendary motorcyclist, Peggy Llewellyn, is 46 years old and is still as fearless as ever and shows no sign of slowing down. In 2007, the San Antonio native became the first woman of color to win a professional motorsports competition at the NHRA POWERade Dallas event. That season, she finished fourth overall and held the highest place for a woman in the Pro Stock Motorcycle class. And in 2010, she became the first woman of color to own, operate, and race for a professional motorsports team. If that’s not impressive enough, Llewellyn is still training to break more barriers and continue to inspire more women of color to enjoy the sport that she loves. Pretty fitting for a two-time Women’s Sports Foundation honoree. Llewellyn has been a rule breaker since she was seven, learning to race among boys as a young girl. She never believed she could actually be a professional racer because she never saw women on the track. But luckily, it was her father who encouraged her to do something that was way out of the norm. Listen in as we talk about her identity as a Mexican-Jamaican woman, what it means to be “the first” and how society has welcomed (and dismissed) the tomboys of the world. Also: Just a heads up. This is the last Rule Breakers episode of what was a phenomenal series of interviews. Anya and I are busy working on other projects so you guys should check them out! Anya going off to focus on her work with Major League Girls and her golf reporting (BBC and LPGA); I’m going to continue writing for the Shadow League with my #BlackGirlStrength column and covering women’s sports. We want to thank everyone who has listened to Rule Breakers over the past year. We truly appreciate your support in engaging in these important conversations. Until next time! The most important political task of the year is blocking Trump’s supreme court pick. It can be done, John Nichols argues—with the right political strategy: organizing in the states with the swing votes: Maine and Alaska. It’s not New York and LA, but rather Portland and Anchorage where the fight will be won. Also: Just eight years ago Democrats held not only the presidency but both houses of Congress. How did they lose so much in such a short time? Thomas Frank explains the disaster, and how, for millions of people, the recession of 2008 has never ended. His new book is 'Rendezvous with Oblivion: Reports from a Sinking Society.' Plus: “Does your job make a meaningful contribution to the world?” David Graeber posted that question on the internet – and a million people clicked on it. A lot of them posted answers. Now his book about those answers is out – it’s called 'Bullshit Jobs,' and it casts dramatic light on our economy and politics.

Also: Just marry!! Die Musik stammt von Al Phlipp & The Woo Team: "Rainy Wedding Day" aus dem Album "The Return Of The King" - Kling wie ein guter Bond-Soundtrack. PS: Kommentare von Holger: Wir hatten wirklich Spaß... und Marcel muß jetzt seinen Schlafanzug anziehen...
