(Airdate: 7.9.25) Today we mark a milestone with Episode 2900, and we're celebrating the only way we know how: by dragging celebrities who probably don't care we exist. First up: Anderson Cooper might be quietly planning his CNN exit after being passed over for the big debate. He's got a new Hollywood agent, a massive salary, and possibly one foot out the studio door. Is Anderson ready to ghost CNN? Then, Brad Pitt recalls a truly diabolical moment from his early film days when method acting and too many beans led to a fart so deadly it evacuated an entire film crew. This is why the Oscars need a Flatulence in Film category. And finally, Dr. Phil is back with a new season… and barely any staff. His Merit Street Media venture is downsizing faster than your last relationship. It's celebrity news with an eye-roll and a mic drop—because after 2,900 shows, if you don't laugh, you'll cry. Leadership is about influence and aligning people to goals while serving them empathetically and helping them develop to reach their full potential.• Leadership develops through experience, just like learning to walk—you fall down, get up, and improve as long as you're paying attention• The ability to influence is the essence of leadership, which can be wielded ethically or unethically• Emotional resonance is more compelling than facts alone when trying to lead and influence others• One-on-one meetings are crucial in leadership to connect with team members and understand their needs• Everyone has influence whether they realize it or not, making everyone effectively a leader in some capacity• Leadership skills are largely transferable between different fields and industries• Good leaders acknowledge their mistakes openly and create environments where innovation can flourish• Self-reflection is valuable for leadership growth but can become counterproductive if excessive• Finding mentors who exemplify great leadership can accelerate your development as a leader• Assessing the ethics of an organization's leadership culture is essential when deciding where to invest your careerThe Scott Townsend Show is a Dietz-O-Man production. I got to sit down and talk with my dear friend, Grammy-nominated artist, and incredibly talented human, Nina Storey. Nina's website highlights her amazing career:“Nina Storey has been making waves, having opened for other powerhouse female performers like Sara Bareilles, Rachel Platten, Milck, and Hailey Reinhart, as well as performing in numerous international festivals, such as the Montreal Jazz Festival and the New Orleans JazzFest. People Magazine wrote, “With a voice like hers, pyrotechnics are redundant.”. This conversation was just shy of two hours, so I split it up into 2 episodes. Part 2 will be released on 6/30. In part 1, we discuss Long COVID's impact on Nina's creativity, songwriting process, and career, including lost work and venue discrimination, emotional processing, grief, and the nervous system. You can find Nina and tour information on her website, and on Instagram. She is published in The Long Covid Reader, and her comedy writing is at https://strangelyoptimistic.com/. If you're interested in Nina's Singing To Improve Health or Vocal Classes for Beginners to Professionals workshops, email theninastorey@gmail.com. Mention the podcast for 20% off the regular price! She will soon be using a new platform, EVEN, that pays artists. Despite millions of streams of her music, Nina says that Spotify has never paid her a dime. The EVEN model is pay what you can. "It's like Bandcamp and Patreon had a baby." You can also send her a tip via Venmo: @Nina-Storey.Nina shared that the clinic in Sedona she has been working with for her Long Covid symptoms is remote and their website is: mybiohack.com. I have not used the clinic. All information is Nina's anecdotal experience. The clinic is not endorsed by the pod, nor is the pod sponsored by the clinic. Neither is Nina. We kicked off this episode with a throwback to middle school choir—warming up our voices like we were about to perform at a 7th grade talent show (spoiler: we weren't). From there, it's a wild ride through some of Reddit's most chaotic and trending relationship stories. We're talking: – Being naked in bed with your spouse and still getting turned down – The trip fund that mysteriously turned into a personal emergency fund – And the infamous “work husband”… getting a little too comfy with the family on a group trip Some boundaries were definitely crossed—and we're here to unpack every awkward, hilarious, and eyebrow-raising moment.

Send me a messageWhy do some mixes, even with top plugins and techniques, still sound off? The answer might lie in a step you're overlooking: the static mix.In this episode of Inside The Mix, Marc Matthews talks with mix engineer Nate Kelmes to explore: What is a static mix in audio mixing? And why is a static mix important before adding effects? Nate explains how balancing levels and panning, before any processing, can account for 70–80% of a great mix. “If the plugins disappear, the song should still work,” he says. You'll learn how long to spend on a static mix (hint: 2–3 hours is a sweet spot), what the benefits of starting with a static mix are, and how a static mix improves overall mix quality by building emotion and clarity from the start. Nate also shares how a strong static mix can reduce the need for heavy processing later, making your workflow faster and more intentional. From native DAW tools to vocal automation and top-down mixing, this episode is packed with actionable insights for producers at any level. You don't need a stage or a platform to be in ministry. The moment you said yes to Jesus, your life became the ministry. In this episode, we talk about what it really means to live out your faith in the in-between moments. Th corporate job, the errands, the hard conversations, the Monday mornings, the quiet seasons. I share the story from Matthew where Jesus says, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men,” and how that invitation isn't just for pastors or leaders — it's for you. This one is for the person who wonders if where they are right now is enough… the person who loves God but sometimes questions if they're doing “enough” for Him. You don't have to wait to be more qualified, more confident, or more put together. If you're following Jesus, He's already using you. And it's not about being seen, it's about being faithful.Your everyday, ordinary life holds eternal purpose. Let's talk about it.Go to https://betterhelp.com/hopemoquin for 10% off your first month of therapy with BetterHelp and get matched with a therapist who will listen and help #sponsoredBook a call - https://stan.store/hopemoquinINSTAGRAM- www.instagram.com/hopemoquinTIKTOK - https://www.tiktok.com/@hopemoquin

Dr. Tom Curran continues to discuss 18 scripture passages that will change your life. Tom shares insight on the call to evangelize, as referenced in The Call of Simon the Fisherman in Luke 5. Tom's List of Life-Changing Scripture PassagesWhile the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listening to the word of God, he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret. He saw two boats there alongside the lake; the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” Simon said in reply, “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish and their nets were tearing. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come to help them. They came and filled both boats so that they were in danger of sinking. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.” For astonishment at the catch of fish they had made seized him and all those with him, and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners of Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” When they brought their boats to the shore, they left everything* and followed him. (Luke 5: 1-11)
