East Coast Radio — In your 09h30 update - Kaizer Chiefs face a tough task against Bidvest Wits today, as they go in search of a win to regain a points lead over Mamelodi Sundowns on the ABSA Premiership table.
Soccer Laduma Radio — Log-leaders Kaizer Chiefs lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns in a potential title-decider. Without Samir Nurkovic and Leonardo Castro who have been to Amakhosi’s success this season, Chiefs failed to test Downs in the final third. Amakhosi and Masandawana are now level on 53 points at the top of the table, with Chiefs holding first position thanks to goal difference. Chiefs fans were understandably upset, but Orlando Pirates weren’t shy in congratulating Downs Coach Pitso Mosimane. On SL Radio’s Fan Reaction Show podcast, one fan stated “I hope everyone is having a good day because I am, I’m an Orlando Pirates fan. I must say [to] Pitso, congratulations. Next, Chiefs will play Bidvest Wits, and they have been beaten. In Pitso we believe.” Another fan disagreed stating, “I’m a Pirates fan, but the way I see things, I don’t think Kaizer Chiefs is falling apart. I think they were unlucky. But in the next game, they’ll make sure they win” During the podcast, fans also debate Sundowns’ bubble struggles and Orlando Pirates Pirates attacking woes.

Soccer Laduma Radio — The Premier Soccer League (PSL) title race took a turn this past weekend, as Mamelodi Sundowns played out a draw against Highlands Park, allowing Kaizer Chiefs to take a six-point lead at the top of the table after their victory over Polokwane City. Amakhosi’s line-up had changed from their mid-week draw to Bidvest Wits, most notably with midfield general Willard Katsande dropping to the bench. Katsande scored the first of Chiefs’ three quick-fire goals in their comeback victory, suggesting that he was the catalyst in Amakhosi’s quick turn around. On SL Radio’s Fan Reaction Show podcast, one fan suggested that without Katsande in the team, that Amakhosi might lose the league, stating “We must always play Katsande, without Katsande there is no league. I’m warning [Middendorp], if he puts Katsande aside, he’ll lose this league.” Many fans were full of praise for Katsande, who’s been a mainstay Chiefs’ midfield, as well as man-of-the-match Samir Nurkovic who bagged a goal (his 13th goal in the PSL) and two assists. During the podcast, fans also debate Sundowns’ title chances as the big clash between the two title hopefuls draws closer.

Soccer Laduma Radio — Kaizer Chiefs sit atop the PSL standings with 48 points while Mamelodi Sundowns remain hot on their heels, with 44 points a game in hand. While the title appears to be heading to either Naturena or Chloorkop, there is still an outside chance for the likes of Orlando Pirates & Bidvest Wits to challenge for the league glory. Only 10 points separate log-leaders Amakhosi from Bidvest Wits in 6th position.
