Ergebnisorientiert - Der Podcast von und mit Ernst Crameri

KI im Alltag – Wahnsinn, oder? KI? Was soll denn dieser Blödsinn? Weißt du, was dann passiert ist? Also kannst du es echt knicken." Rumsurfen – da noch was geguckt, dort noch was. Let's go up to KI! In the second half of this two part episode, Dr. David Leon unpacks some of the most hotly debated topics in resuscitation—fluids, blood products, ECMO, and post-arrest care. He breaks down the pros and cons of crystalloids (yes, even the “pasta water” debate), explains why lactated Ringer's is often preferred over normal saline, and dips into the use of albumin and colloids. Dr. Leon also discusses the promise and challenges of extracorporeal life support (ECLS), the evolving role of targeted temperature management (TTM), and even peeks into what advances the future might hold. It's a thoughtful, forward-looking conversation every resuscitationist should hear. What do you think of Dr. Leon's tips? Are you using these tools in your practice? We'd love to hear from you. Think about all the acronyms you use as a Marketer: BOFU, TTM, CAC, the list goes on. You and your coworkers might know what they mean, but the general population doesn't. So, this episode is all about the importance of keeping things simple and easy to understand.  Daniel mentions his general rule: make sure your copy is written so simply that a five-year-old can read it. If you're talking over people's heads or using language they can't understand, it won't convert. Jay mentions that you don't want to embarrass anyone, so avoiding acronyms and complicated language is a great start.  Plus, how does describing a dish at a restaurant relate to content marketing? Jay gives an example.  This short ‘n sweet Bathroom Break is all about keeping it simple so everyone's on the same page.

Ways to Cope: Trichotillomania and Anxiety | Meg Weatherman - 050

This week on HairPod, I spoke with Meg Weatherman about living with trichotillomania, a mental health disorder that caused her to start pulling out her own hair in the second grade. Listen in to hear how she manages this condition and how she has found hope through support and self-care. Understanding Trichotillomania Trichotillomania (TTM) is a mental health condition classified under obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. For Meg, it started as what seemed like a harmless habit—tugging at her eyelashes. However, as the behavior escalated, she began pulling her hair more frequently. Neither Meg nor her parents initially understood the condition, making it difficult to find effective interventions. Many people with trichotillomania struggle with self-blame, but research indicates that TTM is rooted in mental health, often linked to underlying conditions such as generalized anxiety disorder. The Emotional Toll of Hair Loss Hair loss, regardless of the cause, can be an emotionally challenging experience. It often leads to feelings of isolation and confusion, particularly for individuals who develop trichotillomania at a young age. Meg began experiencing noticeable hair loss at just eight years old, leading to additional struggles at school. The lack of awareness about trichotillomania contributed to bullying and name-calling from classmates, further increasing her anxiety and worsening her symptoms. This cycle continued until she sought help from mental health professionals. Meg encourages parents and educators to foster empathy among children, as people struggling with hair loss—especially due to mental health disorders—often face silent battles. Solutions for Hair Loss: Trichotillomania Finding the right hair loss solution for trichotillomania is a highly personal process, requiring trial and error. Meg experimented with various solutions before discovering what made her feel most confident. She prefers **hair toppers**, which provide the coverage she desires while allowing her to remove them as needed to care for her scalp. Beyond external solutions, self-care plays a crucial role in her journey. Prioritizing wellness, mental health support, and self-confidence-building activities have helped her manage her condition more effectively. While no single solution works for everyone, a combination of personalized hair restoration options and mental health treatment can make a significant difference. Meg's story sheds light on the challenges of living with trichotillomania and highlights the importance of awareness, support, and self-acceptance. With the right approach, individuals struggling with TTM can regain confidence and take meaningful steps toward healing. Resources Book a Free Consultation today! Thanks for listening to HairPod. Haitham Ayad, CEO of SPIMA Therapeutics, has secured a global licensing agreement for its lead peptide-based immunotherapy candidate, which targets the Myddosome complex involved in inflammation.  This approach aims to target undruggable protein-protein interactions, leveraging the advantages of peptides over small molecules and antibodies.  In addition to inflammatory diseases like acute pancreatitis, SPIMA is also exploring the potential in certain cancers with mutations in the Myddosome complex.   Haitham explains, "In fact, what happened is that the four scientific co-founders worked together for long years to develop and to bring them to the clinical phase and to secure a global patent for that. So, at one point, the technology transfer office of the university, which is called SATT, decided that it was the appropriate moment to create a spin-off of the company so that the company could continue the work and take the lead candidate further to the clinical phase. And I joined at that point as a co-founder and CEO, immediately after the legal creation and incorporation of SPIMA, we signed a global licensing agreement with SATT to secure the rights of the lead candidate globally. At the same time, we were accepted in the incubator of the University, which is called the TTM factory. So we're happy to continue working with that set and the university to progress the lead toward the clinical phase." "It's known that more than 80% of drug targets consist of interactions between proteins, which take place inside the cells. So this is a big challenge for drugs because small molecules, small chemical molecules that can go inside the cells, are not very specific enough to inhibit this interaction between two big proteins. On the other hand, large molecules like antibodies have good specificity to inhibit such interaction, but they are too large to go inside the cells. This is the sweet spot of SPIMA Therapeutics because the Stapled peptides have the advantage of each category. They have very good cell penetration and good stability. So, it's allowed them to go inside the cell, and at the same time, they have enough specificity to block this interaction between the two proteins. This is where we choose our target, the Myddosome complex, which is the interaction between several proteins involved in the inflammation process." #SPIMATherapeutics #Peptide #Immunotherapies #Cancer #Oncology #StapledPeptides #Inflammation #Immunology #DrugDiscovery #DrugDevelopment #AggresiveCancers #PeptideTherapies spima-therapeutics.com Download the transcript here

The only thing you need to know about the recap this week, is that Tim got Bingo! and the game is all tied up!! Okay, I'm kidding, you should also know that the official Turkey Bacon Dealer in the TTM is learning how to drive. We learn Lego Hair's deep seeded, shame that he has to point out in his children. In our Dig, we look into what actually happened in one of the IBLP Training Centers. I thought it was just a goofy place, where some culty wierdo's got together and did culty things together ( and didn't eat on Sundays). Its so much more...strap in. Like What You Hear? When you think of strong, Olympic-type swimmers, you're not thinking of them wearing jeans or a WholesomWear Swim Frock. Watch the brood enjoy some quality pool time. We see Turkey Bacon as the respect currency in the TTM. In our Dig, we sit through orientation for working for free in an IBLP culthouse. We don't have regular rules, they're like, fun rules.
