It's the Common Craig's birthday! And it's our 50th episode! What a wonderful time for an 80s Italian splatterfest! First up, be very cautious when accepting free passes to a movie theater. You might end up with a bunch of random people who start turning into demons. Then they'll start getting blood, green goo and pus all over you. Demons (1985) is generally not a pretty sight. And if you live in a large apartment complex, where someone is having a birthday party, you should probably be careful, too. Because they might be watching a documentary involving the events of the first movie, causing a demon to invade their apartment, which sets things up perfectly for the inevitable sequel, Demons 2 (1986). And then from there, you think that you're probably safe in The Church (1989), right? Yeah, until it goes on lockdown due to an automated mechanism, after someone is messing around in the bowels of the building, unleashing an ancient evil!
Ed Twilley and his guests Graham C. Schofiled and Mikey Rotella are supposed to be discussing the Halloween Franchise in preparation for 2018's new Halloween release, but end up talking more about sandwich construction, Kill Squad and Bobby Rhodes. This is bound to happen when 3 excitable horror fans sit in front of microphones. But cut them some slack, this is technically their first attempt!
Zen Master Soeng Hyang, Barbara Rhodes, or Bobby, as she is known to many people, was one of Zen Master Seung Sahn's first American students and began studying with him in 1972. She was given inka, or permission to teach, in 1977 and received dharma transmission from Zen Master Seung Sahn in 1992. For many years Bobby worked as a hospice nurse and her practice and teaching was profoundly impacted by sitting with her patients as they transitioned from this body. Today Zen Master Soeng Hyang is the guiding Zen Master of the Kwan Um School of Zen, which includes over a hundred centers and temples worldwide.
