Ashton Jeanty, Jeremiyah Love.. Week 1 looking GOOD?
This is the last time these fantasy football running back rankings change before Week 1.Kendall Valenzuela and Peter Overzet go through Fantasy Life's final preseason running back rankings, all 48 of them, and stop on the names where the room genuinely disagrees. Every tier comes with the full consensus list plus each player's highest and lowest rank across the staff, so you can see exactly where the confidence is and where it isn't.The top twelve opens with the debate that decides the 1.01, and whether it actually matters as much as everyone thinks. Then the widest disagreement on the entire board — one back the staff has anywhere from RB4 to RB12, an eight-spot spread on a player people are taking in the second round. And a confidence check on the back who's settled in at RB11 after an injury scare: would you really be comfortable if he were the only running back you took in the first three rounds? The RB2 range brings a rookie coming off a high ankle sprain, a veteran the guys may have ranked too low given the situation ahead of him, and another enormous spread — a starting back the staff has between RB19 and RB27.The back half is where drafts are actually won. A Packers back whose stock moved when Josh Jacobs landed on the Commissioner's Exempt List, the real answer in the New England backfield, whether Jacory Croskey-Merritt ends up leading Washington, and the Minnesota split between Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones. They close by each naming their favorite handcuff to draft this year — which, in a season this thin at the position, might be the most useful two minutes of the show. Topics in this video: 2026 fantasy football, running back rankings, RB rankings, fantasy football rankings, Jahmyr Gibbs, Bijan Robinson, Christian McCaffrey, James Cook, Jonathan Taylor, Kenneth Walker, Chase Brown, Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, De'Von Achane, Ashton Jeanty, Omarion Hampton, Jeremiyah Love, Travis Etienne, Bucky Irving, MarShawn Lloyd, TreVeyon Henderson, Rhamondre Stevenson, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Jordan Mason, Aaron Jones, handcuff running backs, fantasy football draft strategy, who to draft in 2026 Learn more about your ad choices. Camp is over, and Raider Nation is staring down two deadlines at once: tonight's preseason finale against the San Francisco 49ers, and Saturday's roster cut down to 53 names. Scott Gulbransen breaks down both, starting with the injury hanging over everything. Ashton Jeanty went down diving for a low Kirk Cousins pass Sunday and couldn't put weight on his right leg, prompting the entire team to take a knee in prayer. Head coach Klint Kubiak stayed characteristically tight-lipped on Tuesday, offering only "he's on the mend," but reports since then point to a low ankle sprain rather than anything long-term. Scott lays out why there's still a real chance Jeanty opens the season on the shelf, and why that makes fourth-round rookie Mike Washington Jr. one of the most important names in the building. With Jeanty sidelined the last two practices, Washington stepped into first-team work, showed real growth as a pass catcher out of the backfield, and is averaging over 8 yards a carry through two preseason games. From there, Scott runs through the rest of the rookie class making late-camp noise: second-round safety Treydan Stukes, who's taking heavy first-team reps and drawing praise from defensive coordinator Rob Leonard; cornerback Darien Porter, whose recovery speed has shown up against Brock Bowers and Jalen Nailor; and offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III, whose versatility across the line could be the difference-maker in a crowded position group. Plus the latest on No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza, his chemistry with Malik Benson, why Scott still doesn't think he should start Week 1, and how Kubiak is keeping the quarterback competition close to the vest. Also in this episode: the right guard battle between Jackson Powers-Johnson and Caleb Rogers, what to watch for tonight against the 49ers, a call from Anders in Oakland pushing back on the offensive line and the Mendoza timeline, and Scott's honest read on where this rebuild actually stands heading into Week 1. You can walk into a draft with a perfect plan. Targets identified, sleepers ranked, a strategy for every slot. And then three rounds in, none of it survives contact. Kendall Valenzuela, Peter Overzet and Dwain McFarland break down two real drafts from Draft Nation, pick by pick, including one where almost nothing went the way Dwain wanted it to. First up is the 16-round best ball draft where Dwain sat at pick 11 with Pete right ahead of him at 10 — which meant getting sniped repeatedly by the guy sitting next to him. They walk through every stage of the build: Ashton Jeanty, Kenneth Walker and Colston Loveland to start for Dwain against Jonathan Taylor, Chase Brown and Garrett Wilson for Pete. Then the middle rounds with Tetairoa McMillan, Quinshon Judkins, De'Zhaun Stribling, Jaylen Waddle, Mike Evans and Tyler Warren. Then KC Concepcion, Justin Herbert, Josh Downs, Rico Dowdle and Xavier Worthy, and finally the late-round swings on Brock Purdy, Mark Andrews, Adonai Mitchell, Jaydon Blue, Tre Harris and Keaton Mitchell. Then they switch formats entirely. Kendall and Pete recap a $350 high-stakes managed league, 20 rounds with a third-round reversal, and Pete explains exactly what changes when real money is on the line instead of best ball. Kendall opened Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Saquon Barkley, Rashee Rice, Tetairoa McMillan and Josh Jacobs from pick 7; Pete went Christian McCaffrey, Justin Jefferson, Trey McBride, Jameson Williams and D'Andre Swift from pick 11. The point isn't the specific picks. It's watching what an experienced drafter actually does in the moment when the board refuses to cooperate — which runs to chase, when to abandon a plan, and how to build something functional out of the pieces nobody else wanted.
