In this special super-sized bonus episode of Genre Exposure, we used the spooky season this year to discuss at exhaustive length the titular franchise: Halloween. Halloween Ends, set four years after the events of the second film of the relaunched Halloween and its final chapter of Michael Meyers. But there is Nurse Deb, one of my favorite characters in the movie. Do not be fooled by her impertinence. She is already one step ahead of you.What an honor and absolute pleasure it was to speak to Michele about her role as Nurse Deb, such priceless insights! From what we spoke about, I can tell that she is very passionate about being an actress and what better way to end the franchise by being killed off by one of the most iconic slashers in horror history. With that being said, I have to know what actually happens to the franchise. In the film, Laurie says, "I've said goodbye to my boogeyman, but the truth is, evil doesn't die. It changes shape" – this acknowledges the end of Michael's physical presence but introduces the idea that evil can take on new forms and persist. For all that know me, the Halloween Franchise is my favorite, and Michael Myers is someone who I have come to love over the past two decades or so. Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills gives us what I can only describe as the ultimate Michael Myers experience and both films deliver an emotional punch that too many of the films in this franchise have lacked.
