For Episode #4 we're talking about the action packed 2000 release "GONE IN 60 SECONDS" directed by Dominic Sena.  It stars Cage, Angelina Jolie, Will Patton, Robert Duvall, Giovanni Ribisi, Vinnie Jones, Timothy Olyphant, Delroy Lindo, and more!  It's a remake of the original 1974 classic of the same name where retired car thief Memphis Raines must get back into the game and steal 50 cars in one night to save his little brother. Nothing is as simple as getting the band back together but it is a LOT of fun for those who enjoy car chase flicks and high octane action. Join hosts Rook Medrano and Cameron Scott from the show 'Take Out Edition' as they talk shop about one of their favorite Cage films!   "Control, vision, determination. This podcast aims to be an all encompassing show that doesn't limit itself to one topic or genre. We'll be covering all sorts of movies, books, music and more. There will be solo reviews and group chats with multiple different guest hosts and interviews.  Sometimes there will be themed segments such as "How The Hell Did That Get Made", "Independent Film Highlights", "Why Is That Not Eric Roberts?" and iterations of past shows like Old Not Obsolete and This Is Your Brain On Film.  For our first episode and to celebrate an early Spring, we're covering an all time comedy classic with 1993's "GROUNDHOG DAY" directed by Harold Ramis and starring Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell, Chris Elliot, and Stephen Tobolowsky. This is the timeless classic tale of a meteorologist caught in a perpetual time loop repeating the same day over and over again.  Our deep dive discussion is brought to you by our hosts author/filmmaker Cameron Scott and poet Aaron Paschke. Directed by Jim Wynorski and starring Melissa Brasselle, August Kyss, Rib Hillis, Lisa London, and Becky LeBeau.  This movie is a sort of all over the place mess that mixes desert town shenanigans with some college kids and elements of The Terminator (whose comparisons is merely skin deep). This shorty feature (clocking in at only 46 minutes) is about what happens when a sentient robot goes on a killing spree. Directed by Tom DeSimone (Savage Streets, Freddy's Nightmares, Hellhole)  and starring Linda Blair, Vincent Van Patten, Peter Barton, Kevin Brophy and Suki Goodwin. This is not just another slasher movie that came out in droves in the early 80's but rather an underappreciated gem. It's a tale about what goes on in Old Garth Manor when four college pledges must spend the night in the dusty old place...along with some sadistic killers left roaming the grounds. In the end you will pray for day.  Our discussion is headed off by our regular hosts Tom Komisar and Cameron Scott! We'll leave it up to you to decide how the hell this got made in the first place. This straight to cable mischief stars Esai Morales, Nia Peeples, and Stephen McHattie. In short, it's about a thief framed for a crime he did not commit and is then sent to a futuristic prison with a bomb strapped around his neck. Sound crazy...because it is. Join our hosts Cameron Scott and Marcus Koch as they dissect and take a deep dive into a future that only belongs to those who can survive it.   "Well, it's a six digit code. The main cast portrayed by Ottaviano Dell'Acqua, Geretta Geretta, Massimo Vanni, Gianni Franco and many more Italian film stars of that era all under various aliases. Directed by John McNaughton (The Borrower) and starring Michael Rooker in his feature film debut at the titular Henry. This film follows the methodical Henry and his roommate Otis (portrayed in a chilling early role by the late Tom Towles) as they lay bloody waste to whomever crosses their paths. Caught in the middle of this murdering duo is Otis' innocent sister Becky (played by Tracy Arnold). Henry leaves us with the age old question of 'who will survive and what will be left of them.' This film is notorious for its grittiness and realism and being NOT for the feint of heart.  Our discussion is headed off by our regular hosts Tom Komisar and Cameron Scott! Join the two of them for a grueling good time!  Come on in at the Grindhouse Pizzeria, pull up a chair and grab yourself a slice!   "It's always the same and it's always different."

Often operating well outside the studio system Pyun delivered films the only way he knew how...his way.  We are continuing the adventures and our 8th and final episode with a complex action/drama in Pyun's filmography with the 1997 European thriller "CRAZY SIX", starring Rob Lowe, Thom Matthews, Burt Reynolds, Ice-T, Mario van Peebles and Norbert Weisser. This flashy crime thriller is a story about an addict known only as Crazy Six takes on a daring heist with his posse when they steal weapons grade plutonium from the European mob and the insanity that follow. Join our hosts Dustin Hubbard and Cameron Scott as they discuss this unique chapter of Pyun's epic film history that shows that sometimes it pays to be just a little bit crazy   Join us for the last episode in an intense celebration of the expansive Pyuniverse!   "I never saw a place where there are so few brains and so many guns!"
