Hello to you listening in Stellenbosch, South Africa!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga. It's a tradition to light the candles on a birthday cake and say, Make a wish! Blow out the candles!Where did this tradition begin? Maybe it's true or maybe it isn't, but as the story goes the ancient Greeks in the time of Zeus brought round-shaped cakes adorned with lit candles when they visited the temple of Artemis, the goddess of the hunt and the moon. The Romans called her Diana. As you can imagine, the lit candles made the round cakes glow like the moon. Others believed that the smoke from the candles carried the wishes and prayers heavenward where they would be granted - in time - although not always in the form they were expected. Practical Tip: What Birthday Wishes of yours might have come true but not in the form they were expected? When it's your birthday light the candles, make a wish and expect the unexpected will again come true for you. Birthday wishes are like that! Guaranteed! You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! In this powerful and tender conversation, Beth shares how her journey as a single mom began just one week after her son was born when she left an abusive relationship and started over on her own. Years later, after moving to East Texas and putting down roots in her church and community, Beth found a way to use her background in pastry arts and her heart for ministry to serve other single moms in a deeply meaningful way. Through her ministry Single, Not Solo, Beth provides personalized birthday cakes to children of single moms, not just to celebrate the kids, but to remind the moms that they are seen, supported, and not alone. What began as a simple act of baking for families she knew has grown into a sponsored ministry where every cake is covered through generosity, prayer, and faith. Along the way, Beth shares moving stories of families she's served, how God continues to provide for her own family, and why caring for the mom is just as important as celebrating the child. We often fall into the habit of only going to God when we need something from Him, but we fail to build intimacy in the relationship. Just as we need to tell our spouse that we love them, it is crucial that we tell God we love Him and thank Him for all He's done for us. It's in remembering to praise Him, even in small ways, that we can truly minister to and bless His heart.

Want to hear about a specific topic on the show? Text us and we will consider it :)The seemingly simple act of making a birthday wish holds the key to manifestation success—if only we approached our deepest desires with the same focused intention. Shannon Miller reveals why most people struggle with manifestation: they haven't made clear decisions about what they truly want."Vague wishes bring vague results," Miller explains, challenging listeners to move beyond general desires like "more money" to specific, measurable goals. Whether you're aiming for $5,000 monthly in your cleaning business or an ambitious $83,000 weekly income, the specificity creates a tangible target for your subconscious mind. This clarity becomes the foundation for effective manifestation work. The heart of successful manifestation lies in three powerful questions: What do you want? Why do you want it? How will you know when you have it? That final question unlocks the energetic component of manifestation—connecting with the feeling of already having achieved your desire. Miller touches on how people in love naturally attract prosperity because they operate at higher vibrational frequencies, demonstrating how our emotional states influence our manifestation abilities. By learning to cultivate specific intentions paired with aligned emotional energy, you create the perfect conditions for your desires to materialize.Ready to transform your manifestation practice? Try Miller's three-question exercise today and join us for the next module as we continue exploring the art and science of conscious creation.
