In the face of certain death from his addiction, J.B. admitted himself to a treatment center 3000 miles away in California. While there, he experienced a different form of treatment that he hadn’t seen in the Midwest. After his time in rehab he stayed in California and began working in the addiction treatment field. Hotel California by the Sea is an organization where J.B. really began to see the innovation in substance use rehabilitation. With the blessing and support of the corporate office, he developed a business plan and brought this model back to his hometown of Cincinnati. In 2018 Hotel California by the Sea-Cincinnati opened for business and they are growing. He was met with a lot of opposition and criticism when he went on this quest, but this was fuel for his success. Our 2nd hour featured our pal Gervase Peterson from Survivor and former actor Ray Martin from the TV series Ed promoting a big charity basketball game aimed at helping families dealing with a loved one with Cancer. The group is Bringing Hope Home.org and they raise money to help these folks with the financial hardship of taking care of their loved ones. We talked sports, Vodka and Miss Robin did her weekly "florida" update about a guy selling moonshine on Facebook to an undercover cop.
