What's Happening Over The Skies of New Jersey Part II THE CULLING   Strange things are happening in the skies over the Garden State New Jersey. What are they, Where are they coming from and What do they want?   PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- People from all across the Delaware Valley and up into northern New Jersey have reported seeing clusters of drones in the sky over the past several weeks. Numerous reports were sent to Action News about flying objects in Media and Broomall in Delaware County, as well as in Philadelphia's Mayfair section and in Cherry Hill, Camden County. We've been asking local and federal officials if they can offer an explanation. Simply put, so far, the answer is no. We spoke with Maureen Rush who is a 45-year law enforcement veteran and president of the Philadelphia Police Foundation. She says it's important to note that many of the sightings include commercial-grade drones, some as large as small airplanes, not the kinds used by hobbyists. "My other concern is that there are multiple drone sightings. They're almost in a flock. If they were geese, they'd be in a flock, and that's what's really unnerving for people," she said. Over in New Jersey, Governor Phil Murphy has publicly stated that this drone activity does not pose a public safety concern, but he has offered little else regarding an explanation. And State Senator Doug Steinhardt says that's simply not good enough. "I'd be happy with an explanation that we've looked at it, and we don't have information, or for law enforcement to say it's an ongoing something or other, you know, and that's as much as we can tell you, but we're not even getting that which is unfortunate," said Steinhardt. And Steinhardt says he's not just speaking as a lawmaker, he's speaking as a witness. "I walked out of my front porch last night and saw it would look like drone activity to me. I mean, I've seen airplanes cross the sky before and this wasn't that," he says. Steinhardt has since sent letters to fellow lawmakers, including Governor Murphy, requesting they convene a bipartisan panel to discuss the situation. The FBI is involved in the investigation.

Nicole and Diana discuss Diana's recent project on Isabella Weatherford, demonstrating how she used both traditional methods and AI assistance to log her research effectively. Diana reviews the research plan she created using AI, including the objective to examine the economic and social conditions in Dallas County, Texas, in the early 1870s and their influence on Isabella's life and marriage prospects. Diana followed the research plan, beginning with county histories. She used Claude, an AI assistant, to transcribe and summarize the dense text, which provided valuable insights into the history and economics of the area. Next, Diana searched newspapers and the census. She located the Weatherford family in the 1860 census but had difficulty finding them in 1870. Diana expanded her search to Missouri and finally found the family in Camden County with misspellings and indexing errors. Her tax research revealed valuable information about Isabella's father's property and tax obligations. Diana also investigated migration patterns and how the development of railroads, such as the Texas and Pacific Railway, might have impacted Isabella's family's movements. Listeners will learn how to use AI to assist with research logging, specifically how to transcribe and summarize historical texts, and also how to use traditional research methods such as newspapers, census records, and tax records. On December 29, 2013, Donnie Erwin drove off from his home in Camden County, Missouri. It was the last time the 59-year-old Army veteran was seen alive. His fate became a mystery that persisted for the next decade — and ended last month, when police announced they had recovered Erwin's vehicle and remains from the bottom of a pond within miles of his home. James Hinkle, a freelance videographer and operator of the Echo Divers YouTube channel, located Erwin's car. Hinkle takes us behind the scenes of his search; and Erwin's sister, Yvonne Erwin-Bowen, shares her reflections about her brother's life.

Welcome to Cobb Football Friday, where hosts Brian Giffin and John Bednarowski break down all the gridiron action from Cobb County! In this episode, we dive into the thrilling clash between Walton and Carrollton, where the Raiders dominated with an impressive 56-35 victory. Unlike last year's setback, Walton controlled the game from the kickoff, securing an early 14-0 lead and never letting Carrollton get closer than seven points. Quarterback Jeremy Hecklinski shone bright, completing 22 of 24 passes for 354 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Makari Bodiford added to the spectacle, rushing for a remarkable 176 yards and contributing three touchdowns. The Walton offense is rewriting the Cobb County record book, setting the stage for an exciting postseason. Next up on the docket is the pivotal matchup between Walton and Camden County, as the Raiders aim to reach the state championship game for the first time since 2011. The Wildcats enter the fray with momentum, coming off a commanding 39-20 victory over Mill Creek. Camden's unique Wing-T offense has amassed over 3,300 rushing yards as a team, showcasing a stark contrast to their 1,300 passing yards. The Wildcats boast a talented roster, including two-star defensive back Ja'Marley Riddle committed to East Carolina, two-star defensive lineman Denigel Cooper heading to Appalachian State, and the standout four-star tight end Elyiss Williams committed to Georgia. Leading the charge for Camden is coach Jeff Herron, a seasoned mentor with a storied career. Herron previously guided the Wildcats to three state titles in the 2000s, including an impressive streak of 13 consecutive region titles. After a coaching journey that took him to different states and schools, Herron returned to Camden in 2021 to rebuild the program, culminating in a remarkable 10-3 record this season. What makes this matchup even more intriguing is Herron's history, with his first head coaching stint in 1989 spent at none other than Walton. Tune in to Cobb Football Friday to get the inside scoop on this exciting semifinal showdown and hear the hosts analyze every play, highlight, and potential game-changer in the world of Cobb County football!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
