Pope Francis' progressive vision is bringing the weaknesses of Vatican II into full force. The 'Synod on Synodality' is everything that the New World Religion has worked toward for the past century, destroying thousands of years of Catholic tradition and moral teaching. A pro-LGBT agenda is on the rise, climate alarmism has taken place of sound reason, and the Traditional Latin Mass is banished into the fringes. Pope Francis has removed faithful priests and bishops while honoring LGBT advocates such as Fr. James Martin, Cardinal Blase Cupich, and Cardinal Joseph Tobin. The Catholic Church is reeling from confusion and scandal, and Pope Francis is about to unleash his most aggressive attack on Tradition to date.HELP US FIGHT THE LIES OF THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA AND SPREAD THE TRUTH AROUND THE WORLD: https://give.lifesitenews.com LOVE LIFESITE? The newly beatified Brazilian was 20 years old when she was brutally murdered in 1982 by a man who unsuccessfully tried to rape her, as also happened with Saint Maria Goretti, the Italian girl who died defending her virtue and who before dying forgave her murderer. Ask your smart speaker to play “Catholic News,” or listen every morning wherever you get podcasts. www.catholicnewsagency.com - Pope Francis has expressed shock and sadness over the mass shooting that led to the death of at least six people and wounded some 30 others at a Fourth of July parade in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park on Monday. The pope said he joined “the entire community in praying that Almighty God will grant eternal rest to the dead and healing and consolation to the injured and bereaved.” “With unwavering faith that the grace of God is able to convert even the hardest of hearts, making it possible to depart from evil and do good,” the message continued, and Pope Francis prayed “that every member of society will reject violence in all of its forms and respect life in all of its stages.” In a statement, Cardinal Blase Cupich of Chicago said he was praying for the victims and first responders. He also spoke out strongly against the scourge of gun violence. A 22-year-old from Highland Park was apprehended late Monday in connection with the shooting. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/251717/pope-francis-condemns-senseless-shooting-calls-for-end-of-violence-after-july-fourth-parade-attack Pope Francis has said he has no plans to resign soon and that his knee injury is healing. Reports of Francis resigning began to spread last month in light of three events to happen in late August, including the creation of new cardinals and a day trip to the Italian city of L'Aquila, which Benedict XVI visited in 2009, four years before announcing his own resignation. The pope did say, as in the past, that he would consider resigning one day if he could no longer run the Church due to poor health, but only “God will say” when that might be. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/251711/for-the-moment-no-really-pope-francis-dismisses-resignation-rumors-says-health-is-improving Father Mike Schmitz, the voice behind the “Bible in a Year” podcast, will launch a new “Catechism in a Year” podcast on January 1, 2023. Gun violence has become an epidemic in the United States, with an average of one mass shooting a day since the start of 2022. The month of May saw two especially violent and horrifying mass shootings: on May 14 ten Black people were murdered in a racially-motivated attack in a grocery store in Buffalo. On May 24, a gunman murdered 19 children and two teachers in a school in Uvalde, TX.  Following the Buffalo shooting, Cardinal Blase Cupich of Chicago issued a statement, in which he posed this question: “Who are we as a nation if we do not act to protect our children? What do we love more: our instruments of death or our future?” This was not the first time Cardinal Cupich addressed the issue of gun violence. In the past he has spoken out strongly on the need for our nation to take strong action, including legislation to regulate gun access. On this episode of Field Hospital, Jeannie and Mike talk to Cardinal Cupich about the importance of a consistent ethic of life, our responsibilities to protect the vulnerable, and how the Church can help heal the wounds of the world inflicted by gun violence.  Cardinal Blase Cupich was born in Omaha, Nebraska and ordained a priest in 1975. In 1998 Pope John Paul II appointed him bishop of Rapid City, South Dakota. Then, in 2010, Pope Benedict appointed him Bishop of Spokane, Washington. Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Chicago in 2014, and elevated him to the College of Cardinals in 2016. Since he became a bishop, Cardinal Cupich has served as Chair of the USCCB's Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People and as Chair for the National Catholic Educational Association from 2013–2015. Currently he serves on several USCCB committees and is a member of the Vatican's Dicasteries for Bishops and Divine Worship and the Vatican Congregation on Education. Many employers or other authorities in the state are instating COVID-19 vaccine mandates. South Dakota's bishops said Catholics whose well-formed consciences tell them not to receive a vaccine, should be free to seek a religious exemption from any vaccine mandate. The bishops called the decision to accept or reject a vaccine “intimate and personal.” The archbishop of Chicago has condemned rising levels of gun violence in the city. Last weekend one police officer was shot and killed, and another was injured. Cardinal Blase Cupich has called for common-sense gun reform laws, including universal background checks. He urged Catholics to avoid becoming numb to the recurring news of gun violence and mass shootings. A federal district court has dismissed a lawsuit against the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. The lawsuit was filed by a former Catholic school guidance counselor who was fired for entering a same-sex marriage contract. The court ruled the counselor qualified as a minister of religion, so the archdiocese and school were exempt from federal workplace discrimination prohibitions. Pope Francis met briefly this week with the actor who plays Jesus in the popular internet series, The Chosen. The Catholic actor is in Rome this week to visit pilgrimage sites related to the Gospels. He met Pope Francis during the pope's general audience. The actor addressed the pope in Spanish, and asked Francis to pray for him as he continues to portray Jesus in the series. Today, the Church remembers Blessed Pope Innocent the Eleventh. His pontificate was marked by the long struggle with the then-king of France over papal authority in France.

Pope Francis made clear this week that he was keeping a close eye on the divisions in the U.S. church, which showed up most recently in the controversy over Archbishop Jose H. Gomez’s statement on the inauguration of President Joseph R. Biden. The statement was seen as being inappropriately confrontational by the Vatican, and stateside sparked responses both of support and opposition among other bishops. Cardinal Blase Cupich, who said on Twitter that the statement had not followed the bishops’ conference’s protocol, met with Pope Francis on Saturday. Though it is unclear what the two men talked about, it is evident that the Vatican went out of its way to publicize the fact that the meeting happened. America’s Vatican correspondent Gerard O’Connell also reported on Saturday that the pope had been briefed on the back and forth over the statement. This week on “Inside the Vatican,” Gerry and host Colleen Dulle discuss Pope Francis’ strategy for bringing the bishops together in spite of their differences. “You know its defects better than I do,” the pope said to a group of American journalists this week, but “I look at the U.S. church with hope.” In the second part of the show, Colleen and Gerry look at Cardinal Bo’s efforts to advocate nonviolence in Myanmar following that country’s military coup this week. Colleen and Gerry also give an update on the plans for Pope Francis’ scheduled trip to Iraq next month and what his scheduled meeting with Shiite Ayatollah Al-Sistani could mean for intra-Muslim relations. Cardinal Blase Cupich, the ambitious left-wing archbishop of Chicago, must have imagined that Joe Biden's inauguration last week would be a moment to savour. He and a small number of his liberal colleagues, known as 'the Biden bishops', have been working tremendously hard to make sure that, once their candidate was elected, any mention of his radical support for abortion would be sotto voce and preferably inaudible. They thought they'd succeeded. But then things went spectacularly wrong. The president of the US bishops' conference, Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles, drafted a statement on behalf of his colleagues that not only mentioned Biden's pro-choice activism but also drew attention to the fact that the new administration planned to remove certain legal protections or 'conscience rights' from Americans who won't participate in abortions or other affronts to their traditional morality.  The Biden bishops were horrified, and pulled a fast one: they contacted the Vatican's left-leaning Secretariat of State, which ordered that Gomez's statement be spiked until after the inauguration. News of the censorship was immediately leaked – unsurprisingly, since most American bishops agreed with Gomez's statement. A new online publication called The Pillar revealed what had happened (https://www.pillarcatholic.com/p/breaking-vatican-intervenes-to-spike) – and named the two pro-Biden cardinals who had clashed with Gomez: Cupich of Chicago, who seems to have been the ringleader, and Joseph Tobin of Newark. At which point Cupich did just about the most stupid thing imaginable: he resorted to Twitter. To find out what he said, and why he's now blotted his copybook in Rome, listen to this week's episode of Holy Smoke.

Church Militant The Vortex Feed

TRANSCRIPT For years, Church Militant has been sounding the alarm over the horror of homosexuality in the ranks of the clergy. Nobody in the Catholic establishment media has uttered a syllable about it unless and until some single aspect of it breaks through as a stand-alone story, usually from either criminal charges being filed or a civil lawsuit that gets reported by the secular media. So it was more than a little weird to see a headline late last week from the National Catholic Register that read, "Clerical Misconduct on 'Hook-Up' Apps Poses Fresh Challenges for Bishops." While accurate on its face, there is not a single thing fresh about the underlying issue. Frankly, why does it matter if homosexual clergy are using an app or a rent-a-boy 1-800 number or carrying on with each other? The issue isn't the means by which they connect, but that they connect in the first place. The people making the decisions know the current condition of the Church but refuse to disclose it to you in any meaningful, actionable way. The issue of bishops, some of whom are gay themselves, is the gay sex, not how they meet. How is it that this is such an issue? That is the question, not the phone app they use. And that is the question that bishops are not only massively adept at dodging, but they also have enablers in Catholic establishment media. If you've been following Church Militant for some time, you will recognize this theme as one of our recurring themes: the distinct lack of integrity among Catholic establishment media. They have been grossly derelict in the category of sins of omission. Much of what they write about is fine and good and all that. But to be pointing at the beautiful floral arrangements and statuary in the sanctuary while the Church Herself is on fire is a complete abdication of their professional responsibility. The Catholic establishment media is essentially controlled by the bishops. Period. Catholic News Service (CNS), for example, actually has its offices in the USCCB building in Washington, D.C. and serves as little else than a public relations outfit posing as news. But other outfits such as EWTN, CNA and the National Catholic Register are all owned and operated by the same people and are simply not reliable when it comes to informing you on what's really going on in the Church. True, they don't publish out-and-out lies like National Catholic Reporter or America Magazine, but in many ways that makes them even more dangerous. Non-heretical Catholics read these publications and watch their milquetoast coverage of events and walk away totally uninformed of the actual reality, while also thinking they have learned something. They haven't. The editorial decisions of this monolith of feel-good Catholic news are a detriment to the current situation Catholics face. And here's one horrible part of this: The people making the decisions know the current condition of the Church but refuse to disclose it to you in any meaningful, actionable way. They simply stay away from a certain set of stories that will tick off the bishops — namely, corruption within the episcopal ranks. Only when a story gets out of the bag do they then spring into action, like this latest story, but even here, where is the larger discussion of the underlying issue? Who cares that clergy use Grindr? What we care about and have every right to be informed of is that they are having sex with each other and/or strangers with great frequency. The Catholic establishment media fell completely in lockstep, for example, back in February of 2019 at the much-ballyhooed but completely worthless Rome sex summit, a three-day affair where absolutely nothing serious was allowed on the agenda. Cardinal Blase Cupich was dispatched by Pope Francis to ensure that the question of homosexuality within the clerical ranks never came up, and there was barely a peep from the Catholic media. How this group goes to sleep each night with a clear conscience is beyond me. They are facilitating the evil in the Church by their constant sidestepping of the issue. And then when the occasional moment does in fact arrive where they are more or less forced to pen a column, it's always a monumental example of deflection. They find some secondary, tertiary or even academic issue to hone in on, deliberately avoiding the pink elephant in the sanctuary. Whether they are actually ordered by bishops to avoid that topic or they simply understand they should not bite the hand that feeds them, they refuse to write stories that discuss this in any meaningful way. For example, with the whole question of the gay seminarian pipelines set up by Bernardin, McCarrick and Henry Mansell back in the 1980s and 1990s in Chicago, New Jeresy and Buffalo, respectively, it was Church Militant who broke that news, not them. During the Roman sex summit, it was Church Militant who was asking why Cupich was refusing to allow discussion on homosexuality or McCarrick, which was the entire impetus for the Summit. In the case of Bp. Michael Hoeppner of Crookston, Minnesota (the first bishop in the world to be dumped from office under the pope's new rules), it was Church Militant who broke that story and followed through with it — not the Catholic establishment media. The Church hierarchy is crawling with gay men. The Catholic establishment media know this and keep very quiet about it. Where are the groundbreaking reports on McCarrick? McCarrick as well as Bernardin populated the hierarchy, priesthood and seminaries with thousands of gay men over the decades, and, over those decades, many of them rose to great heights within the Church. Where are all the stories on this? They can't possibly claim to not know. Our studio here is so inundated with these tips and information, it's impossible to keep up with. And since many of the leaders of the Catholic establishment media are in so tight with the bishops and their aides and personnel, they know much, so where are the stories? The real stories. Because they appeal to a somewhat conservative audience, they are content to write stories on the big level, such as what this cardinal or that has to say about the culture or the latest oddity coming out of the Francis papacy. But here on the ground where all those stories originate, not a word. Pope Francis didn't just drop out of the sky. He was incubated in a malformed episcopate where so-called social justice supplanted doctrine. The $4 billion (and counting) sex abuse scandal didn't suddenly arrive out of the blue, and the fact that bishops are doing a somewhat better job with minors being raped by clergy does not mean there should be no stories on priests and bishops sodomizing each other and the massive damage being done to the Church because of it. Here's the bottom line: If you wish to get sanitized information so as not to disrupt your peaceable and delusional view of the Church and the evils that beset Her from within, then continue going to the Catholic establishment media. They are the extreme professionals at putting lipstick on pink pigs. But if you want to actually know what's going on through in-depth exploration, further probing and concomitant questioning and investigation, then come here to Church Militant. No bishop, cardinal or pope orders us as to what we can and cannot report on. Unlike the Catholic establishment media, our focus is strictly on souls. Period. Unlike the Catholic establishment media, our focus is strictly on souls. Period. And even though they deflect from the whole truth, it's interesting that more and more they are being forced to have to report (kind of) on the very events Church Militant has been doing for years. Even though a number of them individually are journalists, even good ones, the environment of being beholden to the bishops prevents them from pursuing the type of stories and raising the sorts of issues we do here at Church Militant. So the very reasonable question arises: Why would you watch, read or listen to them, and why would you give them any money? They don't tell you the real story. They don't exactly lie, but they aren't completely honest either.

Church Militant The Vortex Feed

TRANSCRIPT Given the very public nature of — camera-hogging might be more appropriate — that some in the U.S. hierarchy engage in, every now and then, it's inevitable that a face palm, or an eye roll moment is going to happen. But there are face palms, and then there are face palms. Cdl. Cupich: "Hello everyone, I'm Cdl. Blase Cupich, and I'm pleased today to read a book called Goodnight Moon. It's written by Margaret Wise Brown, and the pictures are by Clement Hurd. 'In the great green room, there was a telephone and a red balloon and a picture of the cow jumping over the moon.'" The video goes on just like that for seven torturous minutes and just ends when the book is over. It was posted on the Chicago archdiocese's YouTube channel with the description: Cardinal Blase Cupich reads the popular children's book Goodnight Moon as part of Live From the Library. The Chicago Public Library, in partnership with the Mayor's Office, launched Live From the Library, a daily program featuring notable Chicagoans reading their favorite children's books. The mayor of Chicago is Lori Lightfoot, the same mayor who threatened the citizens she is supposed to serve with being arrested if they dared break her commands to stay at home. Mayor Lightfoot: "We will shut you down, we will cite you and if we need to, we will arrest you and we will take you to jail. Period." And then they will turn you loose with all the other criminals so you don't get the Wuhan. We're concentrating on Mayor Lightfoot, an avowed lesbian, by the way, because there is a connection back to Cupich. Remember back in 2018 when Chicago priest Fr. Paul Kalchik witnessed his parishioners burning a rainbow banner that had hung in the parish 20 years ago? You'll recall Kalchik had to flee for his life because of the death threats from gay activists as well as having to get out of dodge because Cupich sent some gay chancery goons to the parish to whisk Fr. away to St. Luke's, the priest nuthouse in Maryland. But here is the connection: Before Lightfoot was mayor, she was in city government and called Cupich to say Kalchik had to go for burning the banner. Cupich dutifully complied. So here's a question: The archdiocese has laid off employees, slashing parishes, all but placed armed guards on the front steps to make sure no one goes in a Church — and yet how does he have time for this? He has had one of the most disgraceful runs in such a short time of any senior prelate in the country. He was Pope Francis' hatchet man for the McCarrick scandal engineering the further deflection and coverup at the the 2019 Vatican Sex Summit. He made sure at the annual meeting that when the topic came up of priests having gay sex with consenting males that it got tabled, and then never brought up again. His now-infamous attempt to pass over the homopredator clergy abuse issue in an interview with a local network affiliate has become legendary. Cupich: "The pope has a bigger agenda. He's got to get on with other things, of talking about the environment and protecting migrants and carrying on the work of the Church. We're not going to go down a rabbit hole on this." Then when he was called out for that moronic remark, he lied and said the station edited him out of context. He even had a statement read aloud from the pulpits saying so. In response, the station released the entire video for viewers to watch for themselves — and true to form for this crowd of senior prelates, he had lied through his teeth. He did say it, and it was in context. What he should add to that is that he's also the consolidator of all things Francis in the Church in America — he who sits at the right hand of the power of this pontificate behind the scenes, pulling the strings, for example, on the latest bishop appointments around the nation. Pope Francis and the gay cabal in Rome need men like Cupich out in the field, exercising their will and putting people in place to execute a complete overrun of the Church. And since the days of homosexual satanist Cdl. Joseph Bernardin, Chicago has proven to be the seat of power for all that. Bernardin was archbishop of Chicago from 1982-1996, and during those fourteen years turned the clergy of the diocese, the chancery and a sizable portion of the US hierarchy gay. As an aside, the reason there even was a gay banner in Fr. Kalchik's parish was because Bernardin had annointed that parish the "gay parish" and installed an active homosexual as pastor who then covered up the crucifix with that gay banner 20 years earlier. After Bernardin, the hapless Francis George became cardinal of Chicago and just let the gay crap carry on, telling friends privately that it was so widespread he couldn’t do anything. True enough. And after Cdl. George's death, Cupich took over the reins of gay Chicago in 2014 and has advanced that ball far down the field. So, now the pope's man in America, who has successfully blocked any formal attempt to uncover the truth about homosexuality within the ranks of the clergy, the extent of the homopredator network and cover-up, as well as deflected like a champion news about the never-to-be-released McCarrick report — who, by the way, owes his postion to McCarrick — is now reading bedtime stories to children from the Chicago Public Library. Bedtime with Blase — more like cringy with the cardinal.
