Welcome to the 106th edition podcast of Women's Liberation Radio News. First up, hear aurora linnea greet the listener before handing the mic to Mary O'Neill for women's news from around the world. Next, enjoy the song "Heaven is a Place on Earth" an old 80's pop favored re-imagined by Allison Lorenzen. After the song, stay tuned for excerpts of a LIVE round table discussion the WLRN team held on January 11th with aurora to discuss her book, Man Against Being: Body Horror & the Death of Life. Finally, enjoy this month's commentary from WLRN team member Margaret Moss who speaks to us about how human society is organized around serving the alpha males, something we should have left behind long ago in our journey here on earth. The power of entering into a period of exploring personal rebirth is one of the most challenging, and rewarding, journeys we can undertake. Through engaging with the spirit of rebirth, we reveal the pieces within us, be they difficult memories or personality aspects, that long to die. Myths such as Persephone and Inanna show us the universal power of the spiritual dismemberment and death, which ultimately lead to a new wholeness, where the soul is amplified and the shadow quieted. I'm joined by Angela Natividad, whose insights into mythology and personal experience elevate any discussion. We cover so many components of the rebirth journey, from the inspirational ancient rituals of Eleusis to the practical applied concepts that really help us transform, and what solar/lunar energies mean. I read a passage from "Lost Goddesses of Ancient Greece," by Charlene Spretnak. To go deeper into the rebirth journey, join my soul school, The Covina Institute. You can access the self-serve class/meditation on rebirth by subscribing to the Keeping Her Keys hub on Searchie. You can learn more about both at keepingherkeys.com

I'm absolutely thrilled to have Charlene Spretnak on the show today. Charlene is a prolific author in the fields of feminist women's spirituality, environmentalism, and the interrelatedness of social change movements. A summary of each of her books can be found here. The book initially that inspired her to write research into the lost goddess myths of pre-patriarchal Greece is called The First Sex by Elizabeth Gould Davis. The philosopher Charlene mentioned is Luce Irigaray. Charlene has provided me with so much material to research and study. If you'd like to hear the speech I gave inspired by her book, Lost Goddesses of Early Greece, check out TNP64.

Nothing exists outside of those relationships. AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HOUR hear author Robin Willians, author of Hawkmoon, discuss the roles of women in the Frontier West. Were they oppressed in the 19th century? How? How did the west shape women and were they ultimately better for the experience? What about Mattie Ross in True Grit - was her portrayal accurate? The truth about prostitution in the West. Women who broke the molds. How are women better off or not from frontier days.
