For ALL the Cosmically Curious in Celebration of Science Week at SpaceFest Join Fig O'Reilly for a free online event on November 19th exploring success in STEAM, talking about the launch of Ireland's first satellite EIRSAT-1, and answering questions from participants. Former Miss Ireland and NASA Datanaut Fionnghuala "Fig" O'Reilly will be the guest of honour at a free, public online workshop as part of the Science Foundation Ireland funded SpaceFest at the National Space Centre in Cork. The event will offer members of the public the rare chance to ask questions of a leading figure in Ireland's science outreach and emerging space industry. An engineer and regional director of NASA's Space Apps Challenge in Washington, DC, she was recently invited by the European Space Agency to the European Space Research and Technology Centre. Located in the Netherlands, the centre is ESA's main development and test campus for spacecraft and space technology. Fig visited as part of the Irish delegation supporting the launch of EIRSAT-1, Ireland's first satellite. In 2019 Fig herself made history as the first woman of colour and Black woman to represent Ireland at the international Miss Universe competition, highlighting the need for diversity in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.) She subsequently launched Space to Reach, an organization dedicated to advancing Black and Brown women in STEM. On Sunday 19 November, she'll talk with artist Linda Curtain about the value of extending STEM to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathmatics) and the intersection of space and art. Their conversation will also focus on the need for DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) in all aspects of STEM and the importance of companies reflecting the markets they serve. Members of the public who register for the event here will have the opportunity to ask Fionnghuala about EIRSAT-1, her STEM advocacy for women and for women of colour, and her experiences in the space industry.

Ep #217 – Cosmically Curious – An Interview with Alexandra Wenman, author of Archangel Alchemy Healing   For this show I am thrilled to welcome Alexandra Wenman, author of “Archangel Alchemy Healing.” She is a channeler, an author, a wisdom teacher and so much more. We had an amazing, incredible, energetic connection and conversation surrounding the work she does. In fact this interview actually took place at the tail-end of 2022 just before the Christmas Holiday and the impact of this powerful chat we shared is now so timely and ready to be shared. Alexandra's journey and awakening began at birth. Her mother was told she would be a still-born. Alexandra was yanked into the world by forceps and then flat-lined and had to be resuscitated by the doctors. From an early age Alexandra has been able to feel, see and sense spirit and angels. She has always had a strong connection to the angels but it was shut down for a time. Alchemy has been a part of her for most of her life, she just didn't realize what she was meant to do with it. She was however aware of her gift of channeling and for many years she wrote what was coming to her with no understanding how it would all come together. Then around 2011 she began to channel higher-beings identified as “The Higher Galactic Counsel of Life.” The messages she received was for her to move toward exploring spiritual alchemy and so this book, “Archangel Alchemy Healing,” is really a 12-13 year project that has been channeled through her. Alexandra explains that alchemy is about changing one state to another. It is an ancient wisdom process. From a historical standpoint it started ages ago when a chemist or alchemist worked to turn lead into gold. But alchemy is not just about changing the physical form of something tangible but also changing the being, the human being to get in touch with the spirit within that is having this “human” experience here on earth. The healing path, according to Alexandra, is about first acknowledging those blockages or obstacles in your path. And the first step to alchemy healing is feeling and identifying where those blockages exist within your body. Alexandra goes into greater detail on this process and she also works with individuals to guide them on their journey of healing and transforming. Alexandra explains that it is all about understanding that nature and all of reality is a part of who we are and something to be loved and embraced and learned from, rather than something to be feared or to run from. When we understand this statement then the whole world can become a glorious playground rather than something to be feared, and a true alchemist understands this knowing we are a part of everything and nothing is separate from us. There is so much to learn and share about this process and the work Alexandra Wenman is doing. To learn more please visit her website at: AlexandraWenman.com To purchase her book visit: www.alexandrawenman.com/shop Alexandra also has a YouTube channel and an oracle angel deck that supports the book. All of this information can be accessed through her website, I encourage you to explore it more. To learn more about how I show up in the world I invite you to visit my website: SusanBurrell.com

Are you neat or messy? You most likely have a preference for either a neat or a cluttered work environment. There is a general assumption that neat is better - but is it? It apparently depends on what type of work you are doing. Those two types of environments have an impact on you that affect the way you think. We begin this episode by exploring that. https://www.medicaldaily.com/clean-environment-leads-healthier-behavior-messy-desk-inspires-creativity-249383 Have you seen those videos shot by pilots that show UFOs flying around? No one is saying they are alien spacecraft but it sure makes you wonder. What are the chances that there is life on other planets? Have aliens visited earth? There is no shortage of speculation on the topic and a lot of anecdotal stories about encounters but what does the science say? Michael Wall, senior writer at Science.com and author of the book Out There: A Scientific Guide to Alien Life, Antimatter, and Human Space Travel (For the Cosmically Curious) (https://amzn.to/2S9oJl7) joins me to examine the possibilities and the evidence of other life in our galaxy. Have you ever seen someone talking to themselves on the street or in a store? Your immediate reaction is probably to think it is really weird. But in fact, you most likely talk to yourself out loud all the time. We all do. In fact there are several common behaviors we all do that we somehow think are strange when we see other people do them.
