The time has come for us to start our Season Nine theme of Grains of Sandler proper and what better place to begin than with the Deuce Bigalow Duology… Anywhere, literally anywhere would have been better, but hey at least we got them out of the way and they have a nice thematic tie-in to this episode releasing on Valentine's Day… which is sort of nice if you don't think about it too hard.Thank you so much to our listeners and to Adam Sandler for which this project could and would not be possible and as always:Comments can be directed to AdamSandlerCinematicUniverse@gmail.com and don't forget to follow us on Twitter @TheASCU

The boys may be saying a tearful goodbye to Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, at least for now. Rick takes a stroll down a dark, twisted memory lane to discuss his fifth watch of Mike Bigelow's masterpiece.
There was a time in the early 2000s when it looked like Rob Schneider was going to be the next Adam Sandler. A fellow Saturday Night Live vet, Schneider stole scenes in a few Happy Madison comedies, particularly The Waterboy (“you can do it!”) and his solo star vehicle debut, Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, was a smash, raking in over 90 million dollars worldwide. His follow-ups, including The Animal, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, The Benchwarmers and The Hot Chick (where he memorably switched bodies with Rachel McAdams), were critically savaged but still made money. Yet, the budgets got smaller. So he gradually started making his way to the DTV market while still appearing in the occasional Sandler flick, usually under heavy makeup and often portraying another ethnicity. So what happened? Did Schneider's politics or style of comedy relegate him to a smaller audience? We take a look at his career in this episode of WTF Happened to this Celebrity, which shows that perhaps the notion of Schneider's decline is overblown, as the guy is still incredibly busy and undoubtedly a beloved MVP of Adam Sandler's Happy Madison ensemble.WTF Happened to this Celebrity is written by Brad Hamerly and Taylor James Johnson. Taylor James Johnson is also the editor, narrator and producer!
This week, we discuss two films from acclaimed writer/director Paul Schrader. The first is American Gigolo (1980), which tells the story about a high-priced escort in Los Angeles, played by Richard Gere, who becomes romantically involved with a prominent politician's wife, while simultaneously becoming the prime suspect in a murder case. The second is Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985), a biographical drama film based on the life and work of Japanese writer Yukio Mishima. Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas were executive producers of the film, which has an excellent score composed by Philip Glass and beautiful production design by Eiko Ishioka. Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo is one of the worst films of all time - and this is one of the best stories.
This week Jack and Josh break Brexit rules and venture into the murky depths of generic Europe to revisit one of their all time favourite characters. That's right, Deuce Bigalow is back and so are the lame jokes, bad storytelling and general misogyny that we hated the first time round. Episode Notes Jess & Alex watch Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo and.... it's just the fucking same movie but slightly worse. We discuss how the bit where they made fun of American imperialism was alright, how this movie could have been okay, and how funny it was that Rob Schneider bought a full page ad to defend his honor against movie critics. Also, is Rob Schneider a vampire that needs offensive jokes to live? @LaughatHimPod Jess- @Jawska Alex- @KittyCrusade This podcast is powered by Pinecast.

The more you say the title of this film the funnier it gets. This week we watch the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo with Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo. There was a lot of pressure for Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo to out perform Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo because this was the first sequel produced by Happy Madison. Adam Sandler really loved the idea of Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo, but not enough to actually play the starring role because he found the Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo role to be too demeaning. Instead he asked his friend, Rob Schneider, to play Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo and Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo because he has no dignity. Kinda like we have no dignity by writing Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo and Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo as many times as possible in this description in an attempt to see if anyone actually reads these things and also hopefully achieve semantic satiation. You would think starring in two films like Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo and Deuce Bigalow European Gigolo would have killed Rob Schneider, but nope. Rob Schneider is impossible to kill, like a cockroach in an atomic blast or that constant fear of failure in the back of your mind.
