In this episode of Sunday Strides, we're exploring a common, but quietly damaging, belief many riders hold: “If I was truly capable, I wouldn't need help.” Whether you've just begun leasing, you're training solo, or you've always dreamed of being an independent rider, today's message is for you. I share why needing support doesn't make you any less capable… In fact, it often means you're getting closer to your next breakthrough. And I gently redefine what guidance really is: not control or correction, but structure, perspective, and encouragement, especially when you're feeling stuck, messy, or unsure.

Family Matters with Jim Minnery - The Faith & Politics Show !
Parents need all the help they can get to raise resilient, God-honoring, community-contributing kids. In 2010, Eleanor Rodriguez, an elementary school principal in Santa Ana, California, reached out to community leaders for help. Rising poverty, gang violence, drugs, and other high-risk behaviors were impacting the education and well-being of the city's children. The city's youth were being lost. Parents and leaders were desperate for long-term solutions.Ultimately, out of her desire to change the trajectory of her own little slice of earth, Rezilient Kidz was formed.Today on the show, I get to converse with David Frush who helps communities throughout the West Coast establish Rezilient Kidz programs to give parents the tools needed to help their children stand up and take responsibility for themselves and those around them. He hopes Alaska will be the next state.Support the show
Send us a textOn the outside, you look composed. Capable. Unshakable. On the inside? You're holding your breath, smiling through the sting, and hoping no one sees the blisters. In this episode, we're talking about the invisible pressure to perform as a leader, how it sneaks in through high standards, polished presentations, and yes, even cute-but-painful shoes. This isn't about appearances. It's about the cost of pretending to be fine when you're not.Because the strongest leaders aren't unreadable. They're relatable. And when you trade polish for presence? That's when real trust, creativity, and clarity show up.You'll hear:A relatable (and slightly painful) story from the trenchesWhat to say instead of pretending it's all okayWhy showing up real is a gift to your team and not a liabilityIf you're tired of leading through gritted teeth or curated calm, this episode is your permission slip to drop the act, say the thing, and lead from a place that's real.Let's get into it.Want to increase revenue and impact? Sure you can handle it all, but where is taking you? In this deeply personal, wildly validating summer conversation, Thea sits down with longtime friend and Cowgirls Over Coffee original Audrey Hall to unpack a question many of us are circling: What happens when your capability becomes your identity … and your margin disappears? This is an episode for the woman who's built a life she's proud of and is left asking why it still feels so hard. For the one who gets it done, who performs under pressure, who's known for delivering but lives in depletion.Together, Thea and Audrey explore:Why “high performance” starts to feel like a trap. The difference between nurturing your ambition vs. demanding from it.What it really costs to prove your capability over and over again. How excellence can mask burnout. Why we sometimes feel safer in stress than in stillness. And, what it means to move from rocky soil to something more nourishing. You'll hear stories about rodeo royalty, sad girl eras, and gym floor epiphanies but underneath it all is a real-time conversation about rebuilding your relationship with ambition, restoration, and joy. If you've ever said, “I'm not afraid of the effort, but dang I'm tired of proving my worth through it.,” this one's for you.Mentioned in this episode:Follow Audrey Hall on Instagram at @audreyetta.Listen to Audrey's new podcast, Cowgirl Church.Books by Trevor Mowad: It Takes What It Takes and Getting to Neutral.Let's Keep the Conversation GoingScreenshot this episode and tag @cowgirlsovercoffee with your favorite takeaway. In this second episode we host Jeroen van den Bergh, full professor of environmental and climate economics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. The climate policy expert Jeroen will tell us about how to provide these clear guidelines through the 10 Commandments for climate policy design. CAPABLE is a research project funded by the Horizon Europe Programme under grant agreement No 101056891. It provides robust, resilient and actionable recommendations for the design of socially and economically acceptable climate policy measures for 2030 and beyond, examining experiences, policy design and implementation solutions to identify strategies that can enable a successful transition. And Jehovah said unto Moses, Come unto Pharaoh, and speak unto him, Thus said Jehovah the God of the Hebrews, Let My people go that they may serve Me. For if thou refuse to let them go, and if thou still withhold them, behold, the hand of Jehovah shall be on thy cattle which is in the field, on the horses, on the asses, on the camels, on the herd, and on the flock; a very grievous pestilence. And Jehovah shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of the Egyptians, and there shall nothing die of all that belongeth to the sons of Israel. And Jehovah appointed a set time, saying, Tomorrow Jehovah shall do this word in the land. And Jehovah did this word on the morrow, and all the cattle of the Egyptians died; and of the cattle of the sons of Israel died not one. And Pharaoh sent, and behold there was not so much as one of the cattle of Israel dead; and Pharaoh's heart was made heavy, and he did not let the people go. Exodus 9: 1-7 Arcana Coelestia 7493. The loves of self and of the world with man begin to reign when he comes to years of discretion and self-government; for then the man begins to think from himself or from his own, and to appropriate these loves to himself, and this the more as he confirms himself in a life of evil. Insofar as a man appropriates evils to himself, so far the Lord separates the good of innocence and charity which the man has received in infancy and childhood and at times afterward, and stores them up in his interiors; for the good of innocence and the good of charity can in no wise abide with the evils of these loves; and the Lord is not willing that they should perish. AC 7494. They therefore who either pervert or extinguish or reject in themselves the good of love and the truth of faith, have no life in them; for the life which is from the Divine is to will good and believe truth. But they who do not will good but evil, nor believe truth but falsity, have what is contrary to life. This contrary to life is hell, and is called “death,” and they are called “dead.” That the life of love and faith is called “life,” also “eternal life,” and that they who have it in themselves are called “living men;” and that the contrary of life is called “death,” also “eternal death,” and such men “dead,” is evident from many passages in the Word (as in Matthew 4:16; 8:21-22; 18:8-9; 19:16-17, 29; John 3:15-16, 36; 5:24-25; 6:33, 35, 47-48, 50-51, 53, 57-58, 63; 8:21, 24, 51; 10:10; 11:25-26; 14:6, 19; 17:2-3; 20:31; and elsewhere). Third Round posts are short audio clips taken from Round 3 comments offered in the online Logopraxis Life Group meetings. The aim is to keep the focus on understanding the Text in terms of its application to the inner life along with reinforcing any key LP principles that have been highlighted in the exchanges.

Capable of running 20,000X more operations than today's quantum machines, Starling could unlock breakthroughs in chemistry, materials science, and optimization.According to IBM, this is not just a pie-in-the-sky roadmap: they actually have the ability to make Starling happen. In this exclusive conversation, I speak with Jerry Chow, IBM Fellow and Director of Quantum Systems, about the engineering breakthroughs that are making this possible ... especially a radically more efficient error correction code and new multi-layered qubit architectures. We cover:- The shift from millions of physical qubits to manageable logical qubits- Why IBM is using quantum low-density parity check (qLDPC) codes- How modular quantum systems (like Kookaburra and Cockatoo) will scale the technology- Real-world quantum-classical hybrid applications already happening today- Why now is the time for developers to start building quantum-native algorithms00:00 Introduction to the Future of Computing01:04 IBM's Jerry Chow01:49 Quantum Supremacy02:47 IBM's Quantum Roadmap04:03 Technological Innovations in Quantum Computing05:59 Challenges and Solutions in Quantum Computing09:40 Quantum Processor Development14:04 Quantum Computing Applications and Future Prospects20:41 Personal Journey in Quantum Computing24:03 Conclusion and Final Thoughts

If our kids are achieving but not thriving, what are we actually working toward? In this profoundly helpful and eye-opening conversation, Ned Johnson and Dr. William Stixrud—authors of What Do You Say? and The Self-Driven Child—return to share powerful insights about raising kids who can handle stress, stay motivated, and actually enjoy their lives. We talk about what it means to be a non-anxious presence, how our words and behaviors shape our children's mental health, and why the “Yale or fail” mindset is doing far more harm than good. Packed with specific phrases to use (and avoid), guidance on school pressure and tracking apps, and wisdom from decades of working with anxious families, this episode offers a better way forward. If you've ever worried about whether you're doing enough—or doing it right—this one will help you exhale and refocus on what really matters: raising kids with resilient brains, meaningful relationships, and the capacity to experience joy. ** Learn more about Bill and Ned here Get your copy of What Do You Say? here Get your copy of The Self-Driven Child here Get your copy of The Self-Driven Child workbook here Learn more about your ad choices. Drawing a parallel to a scientific test, this business application is presented as a way for contractors to gauge their readiness, alignment, and ability to perform under pressure, particularly when interacting with customers. Eric and his circle's discussion focuses on role-playing with peers as a key method for conducting this test, allowing individuals to receive honest feedback on their communication skills, tonality, and overall approach. The conversation also highlights the importance of a contractor's license as a form of initial qualification and the need to assess both the contractor and the potential client for suitability. Ultimately, regular "testing" through practice and peer review is emphasized as crucial for preventative maintenance and continuous improvement in the contracting profession. Key Takeaways: Regularly practice through role playing or similar tests to sharpen your skills and improve how you handle pressure. Listen actively to fully understand your customers' needs and build connection. Seek and accept honest feedback from peers or mentors to identify and correct your weaknesses. Consistent training and practice is preventative maintenance that helps you avoid slipping up and losing potential jobs. Ensure your business is fully licensed and insured and be ready to demonstrate your credibility to clients.
